Romance RP

Avi smiled to Ryan and replied, "It went great. Alex and I had a pleasant chat in the gardens while having a walk in the same time. It was fun, too."

Duke Collins soon arrived in the room as well and said his greetings then took his seat.

Bryan nodded to Duke Collins and said, "I'm glad you could join us, Duke Collins.  I hope you had a pleasant afternoon."

Ryan glanced at Lycoris and couldn't help but worry about her.  He hoped that whatever Nerine said or did to her, it wasn't too damaging to Lycoris.

Lycoris was pretty quiet and although she was doing her best to keep an even expression, she definitely didn't look as happy as she was earlier in the morning.

Duke Collins smiled to Bryan and replied, "It was a fine afternoon although I must say, I missed having some pleasant company."

He looked meaningfully at Lycoris although she was clueless. Meanwhile, the maids arrived with dinner and laid it in front of the party, before taking their leave.

After the maids left, Ryan said,

"Dinner looks great and I sure am starving so let's get started."

Alex grinned and replied, "You don't have to tell me twice."

Ryan, Alex, and Bryan began to eat their dinner, as all of them felt hungry from the activities of the afternoon.

The ladies began eating their dinner as well as Avi and Duke Collins. As the whole party ate happily, Nerine turned to Alex and happily said,

"We'll spend the evening together, just both of us, right, my Alex? To make up for the afternoon. What do you want to do?"

Alex looked thoughtful for a few moments and then replied,

"I know.  How about we go to the music room and we can perform a few duets together?  I do enjoy doing so with you, darling."

Bryan turned to Rosaline and asked, "How would you like to spend this evening, my love?"

Nerine nodded happily and replied, "You know how I love that. Of course, I'd enjoy it a lot."

Rosaline looked thoughtful then replied,

"Well, we had quite the fun today but I am feeling a little worn out. So how about just staying in our room and enjoy each other's company? That would be fun, wouldn't it?"

Alex smiled and replied, "Great.  Then it looks like our evening is set."

Bryan nodded happily and replied, "Sure, that sounds good, my love.  I'm pretty tired, too, although I had a lot of fun with you, Ryan, and Lisianthus this afternoon."

Ryan turned to Lisianthus and telepathically communicated,

Beautiful, I'm going to talk to Lycoris after dinner but would it be better if the two of us talked to her or I talk to her alone?

Lisianthus received Ryan's telepathic message and after a moment of thought, she replied,

I think it would be better if you talk to her alone. She might be a little uncomfortable if I was present and it would be a chance to give her a gift and cheer her up a little.

Ryan smiled softly at Lisianthus and replied,

Sure, I'll do that.  I only hope that Nerine didn't cause too much harm to Lycoris but I'll find out what happened.


He then turned to Irene and asked, "Do you have any plans this evening, Duchess Irene?"

Irene turned to Ryan and replied, "Not really but I was thinking of spending a quiet, peaceful evening in my room reading a book. It would be nice to enjoy some peace after a tiresome day." 

She soon finished her dinner as did the ladies and Duke Collins. Lycoris then stood up and said,

"If everyone will excuse me, I-I will be heading to my room for the night. Good night, all."

The soldier then approached her and carrying the puppies in her arms, she followed him back to her room.

Alex, Bryan, and Ryan soon finished their dinner as well.  Alex then turned to Nerine and said,

"Let's go to the music room, darling."

Bryan turned to Rosaline and said, "I can't wait to enjoy the evening with you, my love."

Nerine nodded and getting up, she spoke to everyone, "Please excuse us, all."

She then followed Alex to the music room and meanwhile, Rosaline nodded happily to Bryan and the couple excused themselves as well to head to their room.

Lisianthus then turned to Ryan and said quietly, "You should probably head to Lycoris now, cutie."

Ryan nodded and replied, "All right.  I'll meet you back in our room after I find out what happened."

He gave Lisianthus a sweet kiss and getting up, he headed over to Lycoris' room, carrying her gift in his hands.

Meanwhile, Lycoris had arrived in her room and sat quietly on her bed. She couldn't help but remember what happened between her and Nerine earlier and how Nerine forced her to tell her about 'Ryan's surprise,' the spell in other words, and was furious when she knew about it.

She felt like crying it out but did her best not to, wanting to remain calm and not lose her nerves, even if she was breaking inside.

Ryan arrived at the door to Lycoris' room and after giving a polite nod to the soldier on guard, he knocked on the door and said,

"Hello, Lycoris.  May I come in?"

Lycoris was surprised to hear Ryan's voice on the other side of the door and although she preferred being alone, she knew that refusing him coming in would rise questions. So she replied,

"Hello, Ryan. Y-yes, of course, please come in."

Ryan opened the door and after entering the room, he closed the door softly behind him.  He then approached Lycoris and taking a seat next to her, he looked at her kindly and said,

"I hope it's all right that I check up on you.  I couldn't help but notice that you don't seem as happy now as you were earlier."

He looked at the puppies and they were cuddling Lycoris, as though doing their best to comfort her.

Lycoris took a breath and replied quietly,

"You're welcome to come here anytime you want, Ryan. I-I am fine, don't worry about me. I-I guess I am just tired. It was a long day and all."

Ryan didn't buy into the excuse that Lycoris was simply tired.  Looking at her with worry, he replied,

"I don't mean to pry but why did Nerine wish to talk to you alone this afternoon?  Most of us know that the two of you don't get along.  Only Alex seems oblivious to all of that, though."

Lycoris stuttered a little as Ryan brought up the subject of Nerine but did her best to remain calm. She replied,

"She-she just wanted to spend some time with me and make up for what happened before. I-I think she's trying to fix things and that's-that's a good thing, right?"

Ryan raised an eyebrow as Lycoris stuttered, knowing full well that Nerine didn't suddenly have a change of heart and decide to make things up with Lycoris.  He replied,

"Well, if that's the case, I wonder why she only wanted to be alone with you.  It wouldn't have hurt if Avi and Alex had joined you two, right?"

Lycoris quickly replied,

"She-she just wanted the atmosphere to be more cozy, I suppose, just me and her together. It-it worked better, too, and we-we had a good time."

She looked nervous as she lied although she hoped that Ryan wouldn't notice and would stop questioning her soon.

Ryan sighed to himself as he could tell that Lycoris wasn't being truthful to him.  Deciding on a slightly different tactic, he asked,

"Lycoris, do you consider us to be friends?"

Lycoris wondered about Ryan's question but nodding, she replied,

"O-Of course. There's no doubting that."
