Romance RP

Ryan gently held Lisianthus' arm as the couple headed inside the castle towards Duchess Irene's office.  Once they reached the door, Ryan knocked gently on it and said,

"Duchess Irene, we're back."

Irene was in her office when she heard Ryan's voice on the other side of the door, announcing his and Lisianthus' return. She said,

"Come in, you two."

Ryan opened the door and then followed Lisianthus inside Duchess Irene's office.  Then he closed the door behind them and turning to Irene, he said,

"Good evening.  I hope we haven't returned at too late a time to chat?"

Irene smiled to the couple and said,

"Good evening. Of course not, you're welcome here anytime. Please have a seat. How was your day?"

Ryan and Lisianthus each took a seat and Ryan then said,

"We had a pretty pleasant day overall.  I had fun with my beautiful as always.  How about you, Duchess Irene?  I hope everything here was all right during our absence."

Irene nodded and replied,

"Things have been peaceful so far but then again, with almost everyone outside, it's expected to be. It was a quiet day overall."

Lisianthus nodded and replied, "That's good to hear."

Ryan thought it was a good time to introduce the topic that he and Lisianthus wanted to discuss with Duchess Irene so he then asked,

"And how was Lycoris?  I assume you saw her at dinner?"

Irene recalled dinner but shaking her head, she replied,

"Oh no, I haven't seen her since the morning actually. I was downstairs when it was dinnertime but she didn't come. The maid said that she would have dinner in her room. Only Avi was there, and Duke Collins."

Ryan looked worried and replied, "Oh I see.  Duchess Irene, Sia and I are very worried about Lycoris."

He turned to Lisianthus, wondering who should explain the situation further.

Ryan nodded and turning back to Duchess Irene, he said,

"Umm well, we're really worried about Lycoris."

He then went on to explain how happy Lycoris was when he had told her of the eyeisght spell and then of her sudden change in mood the next day.  He then concluded,

"I have this awful feeling that Nerine did something to Lycoris.  I asked the soldier who guards her about it and he couldn't say anything for sure.  But he did notice that Lycoris seemed more troubled after Nerine visited her privately."

Irene listened carefully to what Ryan told her about the situation with Lycoris and after a few moments, she nodded and replied,

"I see...So you think that Nerine did something to hurt Lycoris or to scare her against going with this spell?"

Lisianthus nodded and replied, "We believe so. We can't tell anything for sure but it only makes sense."

Irene replied, "But what could Nerine do that would scare Lycoris or would change her mind about such a thing?"

Ryan replied, "Perhaps Nerine threatened her?  I don't know how she would do so unless it had something to do with Alex?  Lycoris does love him very much and I can imagine how much that would annoy Nerine."

Irene looked confused and replied,

"But I don't understand something. Why would it bother Nerine so much that Lycoris would have her eyesight back? I know about the relationship between the two but I figured that Nerine would be happy for her or at least it wouldn't matter to her. Why would she go through the trouble of threatening Lycoris just so she wouldn't see again?"

(I have to get off now since I have a lot of studies to take care for the exam and all. XD I'll post again tonight. Nite, nite, phoenix. ^^)

Ryan shrugged and replied, "I'm not really sure about this myself."

He turned to Lisianthus and asked, "Do you have any ideas, beautiful?"

Lisianthus looked thoughtful and replied,

"Well, I don't know Nerine as well as I used to do but I suppose Nerine is afraid that if Lycoris gets her eyesight back, she would have better chances at going after Alex again? It's the only thing that I would think of right now."
