Alex replied, 

"Hey, I do understand.  I mean, I've never been in your situation so I can't say that I completely can be in your shoes but have you ever talked to anyone about this?  I mean, have you talked to your mom about this?"

(I'm getting really sleepy here so I'll go to bed now.  I'm sorry for not rping much tonight.  I'm just really tired but hopefully, I'll feel better tomorrow.  Anyway, nite, nite, Love.  ^^)

The shapeshifter was already frustrated with this whole talk, and angrily replied,

"Can we stop talking about this altogether? I have nothing else to say. I've already let you into my business way more than you should."

(Thanks.  ^^  I'll post now since I'm up but in case I don't make more posts this evening, it'll be because I'm way too tired.  I didn't sleep well last night.  Stupid Folke kept me up and I was dealing with some bad stuff so I went to bed late and then I got rudely woken up by stupid construction noises so I'm not in the best mood.  Not a good way to start off the weekend.  I would sleep more but I have work today so yeah.  Just giving you a heads up.)

Alex figured that it would be best not to push too much and he did learn a bit from their talk today so nodding, he replied,

"Ok, I understand.  It's getting late, isn't it?  And you probably want to get some sleep."

(Aww I am sorry to hear that but I totally understand.  Feel free to post whenever you feel better. ^^)

The shapeshifter didn't say anything for a moment but then she replied, "Don't come back here again if you will open up this subject. This is the last I want to hear of it."

(Thanks for understanding.  I'll make a post now although if I don't post anymore tonight, I'll make a post in the morning before I go out.  ^^)

Alex looked saddened as he heard the shapeshifter's words.  It was like she had put up her wall again and he sighed inwardly.  He didn't say anything but quietly left the room, deciding to head to Lady Penelope's room to report on what had happened.

The shapeshifter was glad Alex finally left and took a deep breath. She had let down her guard way too much around him, but this wasn't going to happen again.

Meanwhile, Lady Penelope was in her room, wondering if Alex had gone to see her daughter.

Alex arrived at the door of Lady Penelope's room and knocked on the door, hoping that Lady Penelope was inside.

(I'll be going out for the day but I'll be back this evening.  ^^)

Lady Penelope heard the knock on the door and eagerly went to open it. Glad to see it was Alex, she received him with a happy smile and said,

"Oh darling, I am happy to see you. Please come in."

(I got your reply to my PM and thanks.  I definitely feel better now.  ^^  And no worries.  School and such should take precedence.  ^^)

Alex smiled softly and entered the room.  After Lady Penelope closed the door, he turned to her and said,

"Your daughter sure can be a tough one.  I doubt she gets it from you."

Lady Penelope sighed but then smiling apologetically, she replied,

"Well, she must have taken it from her dad, yes. I hope she didn't give you such a hard time?"

Alex replied, "Nothing that I didn't expect.  And I did get her to open up to me a little although she immediately put up her wall again afterwards.  I got her to talk to me about her husband a little."

Lady Penelope smiled a bit hopefully then said,

"Well, that's a start. A good one, actually. Anjela barely speaks of him, not after what happened to the poor man. And by speaking about him, I mean anything that is not related to taking revenge."

Alex sighed and replied, "Well, she admitted that her husband wouldn't want her to take revenge but she doesn't seem to care.  She just wants to kill Sia anyway.  I mean, I understand her anger.  I've never had something terrible happen to me like losing a loved one but I don't think taking revenge is the answer."

Lady Penelope had a sad expression on her face and replied,

"That's true. I am pretty sure Dimitri wouldn't have seeked revenge on anyone. But I-I am sad to know that she knows it well yet she wants to go through it still. I've talked to her time and time again but she has nothing in mind but this. It's like she devoted herself to it."

Alex replied, "Will anything get her to change her mind?  I mean, short of bringing her husband or daughter back from the dead and we all know that's not possible."

Lady Penelope sighed sadly and looking down at her feet, she replied,

"I have no idea. I've lost hope myself so that's why I seeked your help. She seems to open up to you even more than she does to me so I was hoping that maybe you would have better luck."

Alex replied, "I understand.  She told me not to talk about her family again but I wonder if I should.  I was genuinely interested to learn more about her husband."

Lady Penelope looked curious as she replied,

"Is that true, dear? I mean, do you genuinely want to know more about her husband or was it a way to have her open up more to you?"

Alex looked thoughtful and replied, "I suppose it's both.  You know, your daughter told me that I remind her of her husband a bit.  Do you see any resemblance between the two of us?"

(Sorry for the delay. Had to go put food for Peety. Funny story that I didn't tell you but turns out the little cat was a female, not a male.  So she became Beety instead of Pitou. XD)

Lady Penelope smiled a little and after a moment of thought, she replied,

"Why, I do. Don't get me wrong, darling but sometimes, I do believe that's why my daughter opens up to you more than anyone else. You resemble her husband maybe slightly in looks, but a lot more in personality. He, too, had a big heart that was enough for everyone. He took things easily, always had a smile on his face and was quite forgiving. Yes, you have a lot in common with him."

(Awww I see.  I wonder how the genders got confused but a female kitty is so adorable.  ^^)

Alex smiled softly and replied, "I see.  Is that why I have the best chance of getting through to her?  Because I remind her of her husband?"

(Well, her previous owner told me that it's a male kitten and all. XD I even asked her if she had any female kittens because I preferred a female but she said that she didn't so I ended up taking a male since I wanted a cat no matter what gender. XD But as she grew up and upon closer inspection, it definitely wasn't a male. XD)

Lady Penelope nodded with a soft smile of her own and replied,

"Yes, I believe so. I mean, I haven't seen Anjela open up to someone, even if just a little bit, in a very long time. So whether it is because you remind her of your husband or not, you do have some sort of importance to her, that I can say."

(Aww I see.  ^^)

Alex nodded and looked deep in thought.  He then asked,

"Can you tell me what your daughter's husband was like?  I mean, she would know best but you probably know him pretty well, too, right?"

Lady Penelope nodded immediately and replied,

"Yes, of course, darling. Dimitri and I got along quite well and I loved the boy a lot. Tell me-what do you want to know about him? I can answer any of your questions, hopefully."

Again, Alex looked thoughtful and replied,

"Anything, really, but let's see.  What was his family like?  Were his parents like mine?"
