Eleanor replied, "Ahh well, I'm not sure how boys in the gods' world are but here, some boys like to have dangerous animals as pets. I remember when Alex was a boy, he wanted a tarantula for a pet but I absolutely put my foot down. Spiders, especially gigantic ones, totally creep me out."

Lisianthus turned to Eleanor and replied, "I see. So I suppose that tarantula is a spider? We have spiders in our world, too, though most of them are really, really small."

Alex sweatdropped and replied, "Aww, Mom, you get way too freaked out by spiders and anything that crawls."

Turning to Lisianthus, Alex replied, "Tarantulas are spiders. They're bigger than the usual spiders but still pretty small. The biggest one is about the size of a child's hand. I still would like a tarantula as a pet."

Eleanor shook her head and replied, "I'm sure Nerine would not like that idea one bit."

(I know that Rosalind would hate that idea. lol)

Nerine indeed didn't like that idea because she, too, didn't like spiders or insects in general. But replying, she said,

"In fact, Mum, I don't think I mind. After all, if my love wants something, who am I to say no? And I am sure that Alex will know how to take care well of it."

Alex replied, "See, Mom? My darling has no problem with a tarantula."

Eleanor shook her head and replied, "Nope, I'm sure that inside, Nerine isn't fond of the idea at all. You should get a normal pet like everyone else. A dog or maybe a cat. What would you like as a pet, Nerine?"

Nerine replied, "Ahh I am sure the tarantula isn't going so bad, Mom. Plus, it's a little spider, so it could do no harm, right? Plus, as long as Alex keeps it in its cage, there will be no trouble."

Alex looked over at Nerine and asked, "Are you sure it's ok, darling? If you're truly uncomfortable with having a tarantula, we don't need to have one. And we can get a cat or dog like other people do. I like them as well."

Edward added, "It might be a good idea to have a dog, to guard and protect your home."

Nerine replied, "I am sure, my love, so no worries. I like cats and dogs, too, and I wouldn't mind having either one as a pet but what matters me is what my dear husband wants."

Alex turned to Nerine and smiled at her, replying, "Aww, thanks, darling. You truly are wonderful. We can talk more privately about what pet to have for our home."

Turning to Lisianthus, Alex asked, "Would you like to check out any more books or will these two be enough to look at the pictures?"

Lisianthus shook her head and replied, "Those two will do! I suppose I'll have to read them before it's time for me to leave the humans' world so that I'd have time to read it and return it in time."

Alex nodded and replied, "All right then."

Turning to the others, he then asked, "Would anyone else like to take a look at the books while we're here?" He looked over at Eleanor, Edward, and Nerine.

Edward shook his head and Eleanor replied, "We're fine but perhaps next time."

Nerine replied, "Same here. I don't think I want to read anyone."

Alex nodded and replied, "All right then." Turning to Lisianthus, he said, "Let's go check out these books for you. We should go to the front desk and someone can help us with that."

Alex took the lead heading towards the checkout area. Edward and Eleanor followed closely behind.

Nerine and Lisianthus followed by nearby, Lisianthus carrying the two books with her, feeling very excited to read them soon.

Alex and the others soon reached the front desk and then Alex asked the lady behind the counter to check out the books and pointed to the ones that Lisianthus carried in her hands. The lady nodded and asked Alex to fill out a form to get his library card, which he did so promptly.

Once that was all done and he got his card, the lady then turned to Lisianthus and said, "Please give me the books, miss, and I'll help you check them out."

Lisianthus nodded and then handed the lady the two books about animals she wanted to borrow.
