Bryan didn't know what to do. Should he tell Rosalind the truth and risk Rosaline getting angry at him for it or should he not say anything and respect Rosaline's wish?

"I need to talk to Rosaline for a few minutes. Please."

Eleanor nodded and stood up, allowing Edward to escort him back to the carriage. Alex stood up as well and held out his arm to escort Nerine back to the carriage, too.

Rosalind nodded tearfully and then went out of the room, closing the door behind her. Rosaline in the meantime stayed silent, avoiding Bryan's gaze.

Nerine stood up as well and then held her lord's arm.

As soon as Rosalind left the room, Bryan turned to look at Rosaline. She was avoiding him all the while.

"Please take a look at me. Look at me."

Greg waited downstairs for Rosalind to return. He worried about Rosaline, too, and didn't know what to do for her.

Alex escorted Nerine back outside to the carriage. After Edward helped Eleanor enter the carriage, Alex did the same for Nerine and then the two gentlemen entered the carriage. Edward instructed the driver to go to town and head towards the theater.

Rosaline had tears in her eyes as well but she didn't turn to look at Bryan. She didn't want to see the sadness in his eyes and in the same time, she didn't want him to see her tears.

"Please, please go away Bryan."

Rosalind soon returned to Greg, her eyes teared up a bit. She sat down next to Greg, doing her best not to cry.

Bryan shook his head and replied, "I can't do that. I love you so much that I can't leave you alone like this. It's hurting to see you in so much pain. There must be a way that I can help."

Greg looked over at Rosalind and felt that something was wrong.

"Honey, what's wrong? Is it about Rosaline?"

Rosaline buried her head in the pillow and cried. She yelled, "Please, Bryan, go away! I don't want anyone by my side. Go away, go away!"

Rosalind nodded and a tear trickled down her cheek. She tearfully replied,

"Bryan knows what's wrong but it's like Rosaline has made him promise not to tell anyone about it. But Rosaline's condition looks bad and I am worried."

Without thinking, Bryan reached out and hugged Rosaline tightly.

"I'm not going to do that. I'm not going away. I love you; I love you so much, Rosaline. Can't you see that? Can't you see that's why I stay by your side even when you try to push me away? Just look at me please. Tell me-what can I do to make things right between us?"

Greg nodded and held Rosalind close to him.

"Maybe we should talk to Bryan and get him to say what's wrong. I would think he would feel it's more important to help Rosaline than keeping whatever this secret she has, which she must feel that others cannot know."

The driver directed the horses into town and soon they arrived in town. It was another busy afternoon and most of the people were walking. In fact, only Nerine, Eleanor, Edward, and Alex were arriving by carriage, which was quite an impressive sight.

For a second, Rosaline stayed silent, unable to speak. Was Bryan really doing all of this just because he loved her? He could just leave her alone and keep away, but yet, he stayed by her side, worried about her.

Tears came down her face as she tried to get away, stubborn as ever.

"Please, Bryan. If you really love me, then keep away because I will not cause you except sadness and pain you do not deserve."

Rosalind nodded and replied, "I sure hope we can do this. I am so worried for Rosaline. I- I don't know what would I do if I ever lose her."

Despite the tears and the sadness, Bryan couldn't help but let out a small smile.

"You know, that's one of the things I love about you. Your determination. And I don't care about the pain and the sadness. I love you, Rosaline, and only you and I won't leave you and that's that."

He sat beside her, determined and resolute.

Greg hugged Rosalind and wiped away her tears.

"Shush. Now there's no use in worrying over something that may be nothing. But I know how much you love Rosaline and I care for her, too, despite that we haven't always gotten along.

Let's wait for Bryan to come down, ok?"

Soon the party arrived in front of a large building. Alex looked outside and said,

"Ahh here we are. Let's get off."

The driver stopped in front of the building and then got off, opening the door. Alex and Edward got out first and then helped Nerine and Eleanor out. While Edward escorted Eleanor into the building, Alex did the same for Nerine.

Alex whispered, "Darling, I hope you'll love this."

As Bryan sat down next to her and let out that small smile, Rosaline looked down, showing a face of surprise and in the same time pain.

"Why...why are you doing this? Just because you love me? Loving isn't enough for you to do all this..."

Rosalind nodded and replied, "I hope he comes back soon."

Nerine looked at the beautiful building and adored it's beauty.

"Wow! This looks really great."

Bryan replied simply, "Well, I do love you and I love you so much that I would do anything for you. Even if it meant giving up a part of myself so you would be ok. That's what love is. We go through the happy times and the pain. But we always endure; we're always there for each other no matter what. And that's how much I love you."

He looked into Rosaline's eyes, his own being full of warmth and sincerity.

Greg replied, "Same here. He probably just wants to make sure that Rosaline is comfortable before going out."

Eleanor looked back and replied, "Ahh yes, this theater's pretty impressive, I must admit. It's been home to famous plays and a lot of famous actors started their careers here."

The party arrived at the entrance, where there was a man standing asking for tickets. Alex handed him all four tickets and the man accepted, allowing them to enter the building.

Inside was equally impressive. There was a huge diamond chandelier on the ceiling and fine rugs on the floor. On the stand nearby, there were programs for the play so Edward took a couple for himself and Eleanor while Alex did the same for Nerine and himself. Then they climbed up the stairs and walked until they finally arrived at a balcony section.

Alex said, "Ahh here are our seats. One of the best in the place."

Rosaline looked at Bryan with confuse in her eyes. She asked, "Could only one day...make you love me that much?"

Nerine's eyes widened with joy and impressiveness as she saw the building from inside.

"Wow! Amazingly beautiful indeed."

Bryan nodded and replied, "Yup. I know it's only been one day but I know what I've found, who I found, and I don't want to let you go, not now, not ever. I would do whatever you wish because that is how much I love you."

He never took his eyes off of Rosaline as he said those words.

Edward replied, "Yup, I sure agree on that. It's been a long time since Eleanor and I have been to the theater so this is such a nice treat. And the view from these seats is really nice. You can see below the rest of the audience in their seats and we have a really wonderful view of the play itself from here."

Rosaline couldn't help but blush at Bryan's words. With the harsh treatment she had received in the past, she never trusted she would find love and peace again. She never thought that someone would be so gentle to her.

"Do you only love me because I am tough and strong?"

Nerine nodded and replied, "Yup, I agree with that, too. It's actually better than the theater back in Makai. It's very beautiful here."

Bryan shook his head and replied, "I admit, it's part of the reason I love you but not the only reason. I see a beautiful, gentle side, too. Like earlier today when I saw you on the ice, you were so beautiful and it made me happy to see you doing something that you enjoy.

You have so much to give in this world, Rosaline, and I love you. I am afraid of losing you and I don't want to lose you, not like I lost my parents. It would be too much heartache to take."

Alex added, "Ahh darling, here are some theater binoculars in case you want to see the play up close."

He handed Nerine a pair of binoculars sitting nearby and showed her how to use them.

Eleanor looked at what was going on and said, "It looks like the play is about to start so we should get in our seats."

Rosaline turned away from Bryan for a second, not knowing how to react.

"I- I don't want to cause that pain as well which why I want you to stay away from me."

Nerine gratefully took the binoculars from Alex and put them on. Then she heard Edward's comment and replied, "Ahh yup. I can't wait to start watching."

As Bryan saw that Rosaline was refusing him still, he replied, "Would you stop this? Can't you see? Then this is what I must do."

He leaned in and gave Rosaline a warm kiss on the lips to show how much he loved her.

Edward helped Eleanor into her seat and Alex did the same. Then the two gentlemen seated themselves. They watched as the curtain on the stage rose and the play began.

Rosaline was a bit surprised and taken off-guard by Bryan's move. She didn't how to react for a moment. Should she return the kiss or try to get away?

As Rosaline wasn't reacting, Bryan took the opportunity to continue kissing Rosaline. All he wanted was to show her how much he loved, cared for her with all of his heart and that he wanted to be with her forever. Nothing would tear them apart-nothing would break up the love that they have.

The party continued to watch the play and then there was the balcony scene. Alex leaned over to Nerine and whispered,

"I like this part. One of my favorites."

Rosaline closed her eyes and giving up on thinking, she wrapped her arms around Bryan and kissed him back. She felt her heart beating fast and she felt that love again. But there were tears in her eyes because she was afraid of the future.

Nerine nodded and replied, 'It's my favorites as well. Romeo and Juliet look really beautiful."

Bryan continued kissing Rosaline but knew that the kiss soon had to end. Once it did, he looked lovingly into Rosaline's eyes and said,

"That's to show how much I love you. You are my heart and soul and without you, I cannot live."

He then thought about her and her condition, wondering if there was a solution to help.

Alex smiled and replied, "Yup. It's great. Ooohh there's the part where they get married."

He looked on ahead, remembering his wedding day when he was with Lycoris. It brought happy memories.

Rosaline looked back in Bryan's eyes and replied,

"I love you, too, Bryan but I don't want to cause you any sadness or pain. You have been through a lot when you lost your parents, I don't want you to feel the same pain twice."

Nerine looked on as well but unlike Alex, she couldn't remember any of their ceremony memories. She felt sad because she didn't have the chance to remember it because only Lycoris was there at the time.

Bryan turned to Rosaline and replied, "You know, maybe there is a way
to save you. I'm thinking here. You're losing a lot of blood, right?"

Eleanor looked over at Nerine and saw the sadness in her eyes. She whispered,

"Hey sweetie, what's wrong? Are you not enjoying the play?"

Rosaline nodded and replied, "Yes, I am but it's all because of my...neglect. I neglected myself and that's how am I paying."

******************************

Nerine turned to Eleanor and quickly smiled.

"Oh, no, Mum. I am enjoying my day really well. And the play is amazing."

Bryan was a little confused. "What do you mean by neglect? So is there a way to save you?"

Eleanor nodded and smiled back before turning her attention back to the actors. But inside, she had a feeling that something was wrong and would later ask Nerine about it privately. Edward and Alex were now fascinated by the fighting scene going on.
