Romance RP

Matthew grinned and replied, "Great.  Coffee and cake, it is.  You just rest, my Anjela, and I'll be back with our breakfast soon."

He gave her a kiss on the cheek and getting up, he briefly stretched and then went into the kitchen to make the coffee and prepare slices of cake.

Ryan happily replied, "And I am the luckiest man to have you, beautiful.  Shall we go downstairs and have breakfast?"

Anjela smiled softly to herself and as Matthew went to prepare breakfast, she rested in bed, closing her eyes and relaxing, giving her body rest while she could. Her mind wasn't so restful, though, as she couldn't help but wonder what those attacks were for. Was it the queen? Was she able to track her down somehow, and was attempting to get rid of her forever?

Lisianthus nodded happily and said, "Sounds perfect to me. Would you like to have breakfast in the gardens, cutie? How does that sound?"

As Matthew prepared a pot of tea and cut slices of cake for Anjela and himself, he wondered who had attacked Anjela and why.  At first, he thought that Lisianthus might be behind the attacks but he had his doubts.  He saw the wanted posters and there wasn't anything mentioning that Anjela was wanted dead.

He sighed to himself and after getting a tray, he placed plates of cake and then poured cups of coffee.  Then he carried the tray into the bedroom where they could have breakfast.

Ryan smiled and replied, "That sounds perfect.  This weather is really wonderful and having breakfast outside sure hits the spot."

Anjela heard Matthew as he returned to the bedroom and opened her eyes. She saw the tray that had cakes and coffee and smiling softly, she said,

"It's looking like a very delicious breakfast there. Thanks, Matt."

Lisianthus grinned and replied, "Then it's decided. Let's go."

She held his hand and excitedly led the way downstairs and to the gardens where they would have breakfast.

Matthew smiled and placed the tray in front of Anjela.  He then took a seat beside her and said,

"Thanks.  This looks like it'll fill us up nicely.  Let's eat."

Ryan held onto Lisianthus' hand and followed her as they headed outside to the gardens where they would have breakfast.

Anjela smiled and sat up in bed. She reached for her plate of cake and using her fork, she took a bite of it. She savored the taste and said,

"It still tastes fresh and delicious. It's a weird cake but I like how it tastes."

Lisianthus and Ryan walked to the gardens and to the table where they would usually eat. They took their seats and Lisianthus asked a nearby maid to bring breakfast here, which the maid left immediately to take care of.

Matthew reached for his fork and after eating a piece of cake, he replied,

"Yup, I agree.  It's an unusual combination but I like the taste and it goes perfect with coffee."

He took his cup and sipped a bit of coffee.

As the maid took care of bringing breakfast, Ryan asked, "Duchess Irene will be joining us?"

Anjela nodded in agreement and she sipped a little of her coffee as well. She felt some energy seeping into her body as she ate, and looking at Matthew, she said,

"I need to drink a lot of water, right? To make up for the blood I lost?"

Lisianthus shrugged and replied, "I am not sure. She usually eats in the dining room but the maids should tell her we'll eat here. She'll join us if she wants to."

Matthew nodded and replied, "Yes, that's right.  I'll get you a glass of water.  Be right back."

He kissed Anjela on the cheek and then went into the kitchen to pour a glass of water for Anjela.  He then returned to the bedroom and placed the glass on the tray.

Ryan nodded and replied, "I see.  Does Duchess Irene not like to eat outdoors or something?"

Anjela smiled gratefully at Matthew and replied, "Thanks, Matt. Heh, I am just trying to follow my doctor's orders."

She winked at him and reached for the glass of the water, sipping a little of it.

Lisianthus replied, "She prefers it in the dining room although she never said she minds eating out here."

Just then, Irene emerged from the castle and noticing the couple, she walked to them, smiling softly. Lisianthus smiled and said, "See, here she is."

Matthew blushed but smiled as he watched Anjela drink her water.  He resumed eating his breakfast, getting his fill for the day.

Ryan stood up and bowing to Duchess Irene, he said,

"Good morning, my lady.  I hope you had a pleasant night's sleep."

Anjela finished drinking her water then resumed eating her breakfast. She ate her cake and sipped her coffee, eventually finishing up, feeling full and more energetic.

Irene smiled softly at Ryan and nodding to him, she said,

"Good morning, Ryan. Yes, I had a peaceful night. I hope you two had the same."

She took her seat and smiled at Lisianthus, which Lisianthus returned.

Matthew soon finished his cake and coffee and seeing that Anjela was finished, he asked, "Are you full?  If so, I'll clean up and then we can talk."

He wanted to know the details of what happened to Anjela last night, of how she had gotten attacked.

Ryan resumed his seat and replied, "Yes, we slept very well.  So I guess all of us are going to resume our usual routine today?"

Anjela nodded and replied, "Yes, I am all done. Thanks, Matt. Do you want me to take care of the clean up? I am feeling better."

Irene nodded and replied, "That's right. Lady Julia and Sir Zak will be waiting for you at the office where you studied yesterday, Ryan, to resume your lessons. I'll head to the academy and Lisianthus will have her hands full with the usual work. Oh and you have a meeting with a couple of dukes today, Lisianthus."

Lisianthus sighed and nodding, she said, "Okay, okay. I'll take care of it."

Matthew shook his head and replied, "You should take it easy.  I'll take care of the clean up, my Anjela."

He smiled softly at her and getting up, he picked up the tray and took it to the kitchen to wash the dishes and cups.

Ryan was curious about the dukes whom Lisianthus would be meeting but he didn't want to pry, so he kept his curiosity to himself.

Anjela smiled softly to herself after Matthew left, touched by how caring and gentle he was, taking care of her like so. She felt bad that she would endanger him by having him accompany her, but as he insisted on coming along, she vowed to protect her at all costs, even if it meant giving away her own life.

The maids soon returned with trays of breakfast for the party and laid it down before them. Then they bowed and took their leave.

Lisianthus looked happily at the spread of food and said, "Looking delicious as always and ooh, chocolate waffles. I am definitely happy."

Matthew finished taking care of the clean up and once he was done, he returned to the bedroom and sitting next to Anjela, he happily said,

"I'm all done.  Let's just rest here, at least for the morning, ok?"

Ryan grinned and replied, "Yup, this is a very delicious looking spread, indeed.  Let's eat.  We'll need our energy for the day."

Anjela nodded and as Matthew sat next to her, she laid her head on his shoulder and took a deep breath. Smiling softly to herself, she said,

"Heh, you really are my safe haven, Matt."

Lisianthus nodded happily and started eating her breakfast, as did Irene. The weather was exceptionally beautiful and the sun was shining brightly, making the perfect atmosphere for a lovely breakfast meal.

Matthew wrapped his arms happily around Anjela and said,

"I love being near you, Anjela.  I feel so loved and warmed when I'm near you."

Ryan ate his breakfast along with the others, getting his fill for the day.  He was looking forward to another morning of training and wondered what Sir Zak and Lady Julia would teach him today.

Anjela kissed Matthew gently on the cheek and smiled softly at him. After a few minutes of just peacefully basking in each other's presence, Anjela quietly asked,

"Who do you think was after attacking me?"

Lisianthus ate her breakfast as did Irene, getting their fill for the day. As they ate, Lisianthus looked apologetically at Ryan and said,

"Hey, cutie. Come see me at lunchtime although I am not sure if we're going to spend the afternoon together. I still have that meeting to make with the dukes and it'll probably be during the afternoon."

Matthew replied, "That's a good question.  At first, I thought that maybe Sia might have ordered you dead but I don't think so.  Those wanted signs didn't say anything about that and I assume that she wants you alive.  Did you get a good look at who attacked you?"

Ryan nodded and replied, "I understand, beautiful.  If you're busy this afternoon, I'll find something to do.  Maybe I'll go visit Melody for a bit.  She'd probably like the company."

Anjela furrowed her eyebrows and replied, "It was dark and they wouldn't answer me whenever I demanded who they were."

She paused then after a moment of thought, she said, "I don't think they meant to kill me. After I was stabbed, I started blacking out but I remember one of them blaming the other, saying I was needed alive. So it wasn't their intention to kill me. They even tried to capture me after I was down but I had a last way of defending myself."

Lisianthus smiled softly at Ryan and replied, "Thanks for understanding, cutie. I'll try to finish early but just in case, you should know."

Matthew looked curious and replied, "What was this last defense you had?"

Ryan smiled and replied, "It's ok.  I know how busy you are and how important your work is."

He smiled in understanding at Lisianthus.

Anjela replied, "It was a vial of explosive nature. You throw it at your opponent's feet and it explodes right away. I have a few of such materials for emergency situations and well, it helped. I was in no condition to cast any magic."

Lisianthus smiled gratefully at Ryan and replied, "Thanks, cutie."

They continued eating their breakfast and Irene and Lisianthus were soon finishing up.

Matthew nodded and replied, "I see."

Realizing something, he asked, "Hey, do you want me to make more of those sleeping vials?  There were pretty useful back when we were in the forest and it couldn't hurt to have them, just in case."

Ryan soon finished up his breakfast, too, and he commented,

"That was delicious.  I'm full."
