Romance RP

Matthew blushed as he heard Anjela's question and looking thoughtful, he replied, "I don't have any special favorites.  What's your favorite dish?  We can have that?"

(I'm getting editing done btw although I really am going to need the bulk of tomorrow so I don't feel too behind.  I just hope I won't have to deal with stupidity for a while.  :/)

(Aww I understand and I hope things go smoothly for you. ^^ I might say this now just as well but I won't be able to post regularly tomorrow either. Have big problems at work and I'm heading to the administration to see what will happen. :/)

Anjela looked thoughtful then said, "Remember the baked pasta that I said was my best dish? It's my favorite especially when I make it using a certain sea creature that lives in the gods' world. How about it? Want to try?"

(O.O  I won't pry but I hope it'll be ok, your work matters and all.  :/)

Matthew nodded happily and replied, "Sure, that sounds wonderful.  I like pasta dishes quite a lot and I can't wait to try your cooking.  Well, I've had your cooking before although it'll be the first in a proper kitchen."

(Thanks. It's complicated but let's say that a trusted colleague turned out not to be so trusted after all. :/ I didn't do anything wrong since I pretty much stick to the rules and I do my job pretty well but some things are misunderstood so yeah. :/)

Anjela chuckled and nodding, she said, "Okay then.I'll gets ingredients."

They soon made it at the shops and Anjela set to buying the necessary items and such they would need, getting a variety of everything.

(O_O  I see.  I feel lucky that I don't have that kind of drama at the academy I work at and my other teaching jobs are just me working solo.  :/)

Matthew would look on in fascination at all the foods that were on sale and he would offer to help Anjela carry the groceries as she bought them.

(Yeah, it's great when work is calm and your colleagues are smooth to work with but it isn't like that here and it's gotten pretty stressful. I am not sure what will happen tomorrow but as I don't stand being talked to in any offensive way, I might as well leave the job if things get bad. :/)

Anjela and Matthew took care of the shopping and such and soon, they had gotten everything they needed. As they carried the bags and walked back home, Anjela smiled a bit and said,

"It's been so, so long since I've done this. Like forever. I almost forgot what it was like to be normal like this."

She smiled peacefully, having actually enjoyed the peaceful activity.

(That's true.  You deserve to be treated with respect and if that's not happening at your current place, it's best to look for some place better.  :/)

Matthew smiled and replied, "This is actually fun.  It's a simple activity but I never get to shop around like this.  Heh, I guess it's a disadvantage of being a noble."

Anjela chuckled softly and replied, "I am glad you like the activity. I suppose you'll try a variety of new activities during your stay here? Things you wouldn't usually do back home when you're a noble and all, taking care of a house and doing the chores. Heh, sorry about that, Matt. You've been having it rough since we've known each other, heh, but at least this is way better than the forest."

Matthew chuckled and replied, "True and I don't mind roughing it at all, especially when I have you."

He smiled lovingly at Anjela as the two of them continued to make their way back home.

Anjela blushed at Matthew's comment and she couldn't help but smile shyly at him as they continued making their way back home. They made it soon enough and Anjela led the way upstairs to the apartment, where she used her keys to open the door and lead them inside.

She closed the door after them and after shapeshifting back into her true form, she said, "Okay, let me put these away in the kitchen cupboards and icebox. Then if you're hungry, I'll start making lunch."

Matthew nodded happily and replied, "Sure, that sounds good.  Can I help?"

Anjela smiled softly and nodding, she said, "Sure. Come with me to the kitchen and we'll put away these things."

She led the way to the kitchen and there, she set the bags on the counter and started arranging everything in cupboards, directing Matthew to put the dairy and meats in the icebox.

Matthew did as Anjela instructed, making sure to carefully put away all the meats and dairy items in the icebox.  He organized the items so that they would be easily accessible and their placement made sense.

Anjela and Matthew organized everything in the cupboards and icebox, soon finishing up. Anjela smiled with satisfaction and said,

"Perfect. Now the house is all clean and we're all stocked up."

She took a breath then looking at Matthew, she said, "Why don't you rest a bit? I'll get started on lunch."

Matthew was starting to feel a little tired, so he decided to take up Anjela's offer and replied,

"Thanks, Anjela.  I'll just rest in the living room while you make lunch for us."

He smiled at her and gave her a kiss on the cheek.

Anjela blushed but smiling lovingly at Matthew, she replied, 

"I'll make you a most delicious lunch."

She started working right away, getting out the ingredients and then worked on cooking the sauces and boiling the pasta, as well as cooking the sea creature to add into it.

Meanwhile, Matthew went into the living room and sat on the couch.  He took his rest and he would look out at the window, admiring the gods' world and how beautiful it was.  Although he was far from home, he didn't feel homesick at all.  He just felt happy, being near Anjela.

Anjela continued her cooking work, soon finishing most of the work. She put all the ingredients in the baking pan and after covering it with cheese, she put into the oven to bake. She then set on making some delicious coleslaw salad to go with the pasta. 

She was soon all finished and after the pasta was all baked, she got it out, laid the plates on the table and plated the salad. 

She then went to the living room and wrapping her arms around Matthew's neck lovingly from behind, she said,

"Lunch is all ready. I did my best so I hope you are hungry."

Matthew gazed up lovingly at Anjela and smiling, he replied, "Yup, I sure am and I can't wait to taste your cooking."

His lips kissed the back of Anjela's hand and then he got up, following her to where lunch was set.

Anjela held Matthew's hand happily and led him to the table where lunch was all set. After he took his seat, she cut him a slice of the pasta and put it in his plate then did the same for herself. She then took a seat across from Matthew and said,

"Okay, let me know what you think."

She felt a bit unusually nervous, wanting to impress Matthew.

Matthew smiled and taking his fork, he took a bite of the baked pasta.  After swallowing, he grinned and said,

"This is so delicious!  You really are a wonderful cook, Anjela.  No wonder this is your best dish."

He took more bites of his pasta, feeling more than happy with its taste.

Anjela smiled with relief and happily replied, "Heh, I am glad you like it. See, I am sure this is a vast difference from what I made back in the forest."

She chuckled softly then started eating as well.

Matthew chuckled and replied, "That's true.  I mean, I liked your cooking back when we were in the forest and I don't mind roughing it every now and then, but I wouldn't want to make it a regular habit."

He continued to eat his food, getting his fill.

Anjela chuckled a bit then smiling a bit ruefully, she replied,

"Heh, I've been roughing it for the past three years myself so I kind of got used to it. I've only started having it more comfortable recently compared to before. You don't know how bad it was living with the captain."

She continued eating her food as well.

Although Matthew did his best not to show it, he felt sad as Anjela mentioned the captain and how he had hurt her.  He saw her scars and it angered him how the captain had hurt her.

(You know, I wonder if Nathan changed because of Helena.  I know he treated Anjela badly but I wonder if he was a different person then. XD)
