Romance RP

(Ooops sorry.  Guess I'm still stressed and I'm tired, too.  :/)

Ryan rested happily with Lisianthus, spending the rest of the morning with her like so until it was time for them to have lunch.

Matthew waited as Anjela summoned the portal and he looked around, knowing that he wouldn't be back in the human world for a long time.  He knew that the road ahead of them would be dangerous but he was prepared to face it with Anjela beside him.

(No problem. ^^ And maybe we can leave Ryan and Lisianthus for now until the others catch up on lunchtime. XD)

Anjela soon finished summoning the portal and soon it was all summoned and stable. She took a breath then turning to Matthew, she said,

"Are you ready? Umm you sure you want to do this? It's not too late to go back."

(Sure, that's fine.  ^^)

Matthew nodded firmly and replied, "I want to do this.  I want to remain by your side, Anjela, and I'm not going to be persuaded otherwise.  I'm not leaving you."

He had this resolute look on his face, refusing to be dissuaded.

Anjela smiled softly at seeing Matthew's resolution, and knowing that nothing she would say would change his mind at that point, she replied,

"Okay, doctor. Then brace yourself for what's to come."

She extended her hand to him so he would hold it, then she led the way through the portal, teleporting them to the gods' world, just outside Cephiron.

Matthew held onto Anjela's hand as they went through the portal and landed in the gods' world, just outside Cephiron.  Although it wasn't his first time in the gods' world, he would still fascinated with it and how different it was from the human world.

Anjela and Matthew made it in the gods' world and Anjela led the way through its streets as they headed to her apartment. The streets were quite lively and bustling with activity, with people coming and going, and the merchants calling loudly for their goods. Yet the streets were clean and pristine, and some nobles would also pass by in their wagons and such.

As Matthew walked with Anjela, he looked around and commented,

"This place sure is livelier than Devenshire, but I suppose I shouldn't be surprised.  I'm amazed by how clean it is."

Anjela smiled softly and replied, "Yeah, that's true. That's one of the good things here. The people always make sure to keep it as clean and as neat as possible and since this is the capital, it has to look its best."

There were citizens who would look curiously at them as they wouldn't usually see humans around, and a group of young, pretty ladies looked happily at Matthew and waved at him, admiring how handsome he was and curious that he was a human too.

Matthew smiled politely at the group of young ladies briefly and then he returned his attention to Anjela and replied, "I see.  As far as I know, we don't really have that kind of regulation back home, but Devenshire doesn't really get dirty.  It's not exactly pristine but people don't intentionally dirty it, either."

Anjela nodded and replied, "Well, it's not like the entire city is clean and pristine either. There are some shady parts that don't look really great and its residents aren't the friendliest and these parts grew quite a bit since that queen took over."

She continued leading the way through the streets and soon they were making it into a quieter part of the city, where there were less shops and more houses.

Matthew's eyes widened with interest and he replied, "I see.  So before Sia became queen, these shady areas didn't exist?"

He thought that information might prove useful at some point.

Anjela replied, "There were some, of course, as any city may have but they were pretty limited, you know? Now there is plenty of these and they only grow with time."

They soon made it in front of a small building, a three-story block in a moderate neighborhood. It was nothing fancy, rather simple, but at least the outside was clean and there were beautiful trees and plants decorating the street. Anjela led the way into the building, where the apartment was.

Matthew followed Anjela inside the building to her apartment.  He wanted to ask more about the shady areas, wondering if, under Lisianthus' rule, people's lives became more difficult financially.  However, he thought it best not to press too much about it for now.

Anjela led the way upstairs into the second story of the building, then after searching for her keys, she opened the door and led the way inside. It was a small, simple apartment, with a small living room that had a couple of couches, a table with chairs, and a big bookshelf. There was a kitchen and a bathroom, of course, and a single bedroom with a couple of single beds. Of course, the apartment was quite dusty, as it hadn't been visited in years.

Anjela looked at it and sighing, she said, "We'll be staying here. I'm sorry; I know it's rather small and god, it's a mess but I'll start cleaning up right away. A couple of hours and it will be as good as new."

Matthew smiled and replied, "I like it.  I find it cozy.  But why don't I help you clean up?  We'll be done faster that way.  Then we should probably stock up on some food since I assume we'll be staying here for a while."

Anjela smiled back at Matthew and nodding, she said, "Well, okay, if you don't mind. I'll appreciate the help. And yeah, I'll have to do some shopping when we are done as well."

She closed the door after them then shapeshifted back into her true form. She took off her cloak and prepared to have some cleaning done.

Matthew put down his bags and rolling up his sleeves, he said,

"Ok, just tell me what you want me to do and I'll get right to it."

Anjela nodded and replied, "Okay, we can start by dusting off the furniture and cleaning the surfaces. I'll prepare some water to sweep the floors and I'll change the bed sheets."

She wrapped her hair up to be out of the way and rolled up her sleeves as well. Although she wouldn't have done that, she had already shown Matthew her scars and markings so there was nothing to hide from him.

Matthew nodded and replied, "Ok.  Let's open up the windows so we can get some fresh air in and I can take care of cleaning the floors."

Anjela nodded and replied, "Okay."

She went over to the windows and opened them. They had a nice view, overlooking the streets and trees. She then said, "I'll take care of dusting the furniture and cleaning the surfaces. Let me get you some water and cleaning pads."

She went over to the kitchen and brought the necessary items for cleaning, handing some to Matthew and taking what she needed as well.

Matthew took the cleaning items from Anjela and replied, "Thanks, Anjela.  I'll make sure these floors are sparkling."

He then set to work washing the floors, ridding them of dust.

Anjela started working on her part as well, dusting off and cleaning the surfaces with a wet pad, making sure it was all clean and dust-free. As they both worked, she couldn't help but gaze at Matthew as he worked hard with her, and smiled softly to herself. She looked at him and smiling apologetically, she said,

"You've probably had servants and maids back home to take care of these chores for you and here I am, having you sweep the floors and clean with me. Sorry, Matt."

Matthew shook his head and replied, "Hey, don't apologize.  I volunteered to help you clean and I don't mind.  It's like we're working together on this, right?  And I like that."

He smiled at Anjela as he continued to clean.

Anjela smiled back at Matthew as she continued cleaning as well and nodding, she said,

"Heh, I like it too. Almost like a married couple cleaning up their new home."

She said that rather naturally but after realizing it, she blushed deeply and turned her attention to cleaning.

Matthew blushed deeply, too, upon hearing Anjela's comment and he turned his attention back to cleaning the floors, making sure not to miss any spots.
