Romance RP

Alex nodded and replied, "I understand.  You did bake quite a lot of cookies.  Do you want me to get you some water?"

Nerine nodded and replied, "I would appreciate it but I doubt this is just because I baked a lot of cookies. I mean, it's been a while since I cooked but I felt fine before."

She shrugged and wondered if that was just it although she was starting to feel a little nauseated.

(Ahh I have a possible guess as to what this could be.  XD)

Alex replied, "Still, you should take it easy."

He got up and poured a glass of water for Nerine.  Handing it to her, he said,

"Here you are, darling."

(Yup, you're right. XD)

Nerine took the glass of water from Alex and sipped just a little of it but somehow it only made her feel more sick. As it started to show on her face, she quietly said,

"I am not feeling well, Alex. Maybe I am coming down with something? I am starting to feel pretty sick."

(Ahh ok.  XD)

Alex looked even more worried and replied,

"Darling, I'll go get Matt.  He should go take a look to see if you're coming down with something."

He then left the kitchen and went out to the gardens to find Matthew and Lycoris.  Alex turned to Matthew and said,

"Matt, please, you have to look at my darling.  She may be coming down with something."

Matthew nodded and replied, "Yes, of course."

Matthew then turned to Lycoris and said, "If it's all right, I'll escort you back inside and then take a look at Nerine."

Lycoris looked worried as she heard that Nerine was coming down with something and immediately replied,

"I am coming with you, of course. That's my sister there. I-I need to make sure she's ok."

Matthew nodded and replied, "All right then.  Let's go in and I'll grab my things and then we'll check up on Nerine."

Alex nodded in agreement and the three of them headed back inside the house.  Matthew then quickly went into his office to grab his bag and then returned to where Alex and Lycoris were waiting.  Then the three of them went into the kitchen where Nerine was sitting.  Matthew turned to Nerine and said,

"Hey, Alex told me that you're not feeling well.  Would it be all right if I examined you to see what's wrong?"

Nerine was glad that Matt arrived and nodding, she replied,

"Yes, please. I was feeling pretty fine but suddenly I felt light-headed then this nausea started. I guess I might have a stomach flu or something."

(I am heading to work now so I'll get off before I am late and all. XD See you tomorrow, phoenix. ^^)

(Ahh ok.  See you tomorrow, Love.  ^^)

Matthew nodded and replied, "I see."

He took out his instruments from his bag and then started to examine Nerine.  While he did so, he asked,

"When did you start having these symptoms?  Just now or have they happened before today?"

Nerine replied,

"Just now. I was feeling pretty fine before and I baked the cookies without any problems. But then this bout of dizziness came all of a sudden and nausea followed."

Matthew nodded and replied, "I see."

He had a suspicion as to what was going on but he needed to confirm.  So he took out his stethoscope and carefully placed it near Nerine's stomach.  There, he heard something that seemed to confirm what he was thinking.  Thinking it best to tell Nerine privately first, he looked to Alex and Lycoris and asked,

"Can you wait outside the room?  I just need to talk to Nerine privately for a few minutes.  She's ok, I promise."

(I'll be going to work later today so I might be late posting when I get back.  ^^)

Lycoris was starting to get worried although Matthew assured them that Nerine was ok. Knowing that they had no choice but to listen to him, she nodded and said to Alex,

"Please lead the way to outside, Alex. Matt knows what he is doing."

Nerine was starting to get worried as well but she didn't say anything, being as patient as she could.

(I'm still here so I'll post now although after, I'll get ready and go out for work.  ^^)

Alex nodded and gently holding Lycoris' arm, the two of them left the kitchen.  Seeing that they were alone, Matthew looked to Nerine and said,

"I wanted to be the first to tell you and I thought it best to tell you privately, but you aren't ill.  You're actually pregnant.  That's why you have the nausea and the dizziness.  They're normal signs.  I could just make out a faint second heartbeat.  Of course, if you want, I could ask my dad to examine you as well for a second opinion, but yes, this is my conclusion."

(Ok. ^^)

Nerine's eyes widened in surprise as she heard Matthew's conclusion and for a moment, she was speechless. However, a happy smile was slowly forming on her face as she began to take in the wonderful news. But not wanting to be too happy yet, she nodded eagerly and replied,

"Would that be possible? I trust you, of course, but I'd like to make sure. I want to be 100% sure before I deliver the news to Alex."

(Got back early today so I'll post now.  ^^)

Matthew nodded and replied, "Yes, of course, I understand.  I'll go get Dad now so he can take a look at you, too."

He got up and left the kitchen to find his dad.  It didn't take long for him to find him and after briefing explaining the situation, the two of them headed to the kitchen.

Meanwhile, Alex couldn't help but continue to worry and said,

"I hope my darling really is ok.  I trust Matt but..."

(Coolies. ^^ I should head to work soon but I'll make a post before I do. XD)

Nerine waited patiently until Matthew's dad examined her as well and was praying inwardly that Matthew's conclusion is true. She was trying to stay calm although happiness was already overwhelming her.

Although Lycoris was quite worried as well, she did her best to stay calm for Alex's sake and trying to comfort him, she said, 

"Don't worry, Alex. Matt is very skillful and I am sure he'll be able to help her. She'll be fine."

(Ok.  ^^)

Matthew's dad examined Nerine carefully and after a few minutes, he said,

"Yes, Matt is right.  You are indeed pregnant.  Congratulations."

Alex nodded and replied, "Yes, yes, I'm sure you're right.  I just hate waiting.  I want to know what's going on."

Nerine was overwhelmed by joy as Matthew's dad confirmed the news that she couldn't believe her ears. She happily replied,

"So it's for real. I-I am going to have a child from Alex. Oh thank you for the wonderful news. I-I want to tell Alex right away."

Lycoris nodded in understanding and replied, "Let's be patient, ok? I am sure we'll know everything quite soon."

Matthew nodded and replied, "Yes, we understand.  Shall I bring Alex in here so you can tell him the good news?"

Alex nodded and replied, "I hope so.  I'm glad you're with me, Lycoris.  I couldn't deal with this by myself."

Nerine nodded happily and replied, "Please do, Matt. And thank you. The feelings of sickness suddenly all went away."

She giggled happily, joy all over her face.

Lycoris smiled softly and replied, "I am here anytime, Alex. I am sure things will be just fine."

Matthew nodded and then he left the kitchen to go find Alex.  

Alex replied, "I'm sure you're right."

Matthew approached the two of them and turning his attention to Alex, he said,

"You can go see Nerine now."

Alex nodded and replied, "Thanks."

He then headed to the kitchen to find Nerine.

(I'm going to game so I might be a bit slow in posting.  XD)

(No problem. XD)

As Matthew came back and Alex left, Lycoris worriedly asked,

"What is the matter, Matthew? Is Nerine ok? She isn't terribly sick or something, right?"

(Thanks.  ^^)

Matthew replied, "Nerine's fine.  Her symptoms were normal, all things considered."

He felt that it wasn't his place to tell Lycoris about Nerine's news yet.

Meanwhile, Alex entered the kitchen and rushing to Nerine, he said, "You're all right, darling?  Everything's ok?"

Matthew's dad said, "I'll leave you two alone."

He nodded and then left the kitchen.

Lycoris was confused by Matthew's response and replied, 

"Normal as in what? Umm she's really fine, or are you hiding anything from me? If-if something is terribly wrong with her, please let me know."

As Matthew didn't give her a direct answer, her mind wandered off to a bad possibility.

Nerine smiled happily and nodded to Alex although she didn't say anything. Instead, she touched Alex's hand and brought it to her tummy gently. She looked happily in his eyes and smiled joyfully at him, wondering if he'd understand.

Matthew sighed and replied, "I don't think it's really my place to tell, but I promise you that Nerine's quite well.  But perhaps, if you were to guess..."

He hinted that it would be ok if Lycoris were able to guess what was going on.

It took Alex a minute to realize what Nerine was hinting at and his eyes wide open, he asked,

"Is it true?  I mean, are we really going to have a baby?"
