Romance RP

Matthew took a deep breath and replied, "I have but I love both of them.  I only want what's best for them.  I know that the Lycoris we know says that she wants to give herself up to save the devils' world but if she's only doing so out of guilt..."

He trailed off, hoping that Lady Penelope would follow his train of thought.

Lady Penelope sighed sadly and replied, 

"And have you tried asking her? I can't tell myself whether the Lycoris we know is acting out of guilt or not, but surely, you can talk to her and she'll tell you?"

Matthew replied, "I already have.  I've talked to her about this matter and although she didn't say so directly, I knew she was doing things out of guilt.  If that weren't the case, if all she truly wanted was to save the devils' world and nothing else, I would help her.  There wouldn't be any doubt.  But now that I know she's doing things out of guilt, hoping that sacrificing herself will atone for the sins she believes she has committed, I can't, in good conscience, help her to kill herself.  Can you understand that?"

Lady Penelope nodded and replied, "Yes, certainly, I understand."

She paused then after thinking about something, she said, "There's something you need to know. If you say that you truly love Lycoris and care about her, maybe you should know what I am about to tell you."

Matthew looked curiously at Lady Penelope and although he didn't say a word, he nodded, wanting to hear what she wished to tell him.

Lady Penelope took a breath then said,

"There's this...piece of information that if Lycoris is truly in love and there's a person out there who genuinely returns her love, that true feeling can save her life and save the devils' world alike. We aren't sure that it's quite true, but there's the possibility it is. But for that miracle to take place, it has to be a strong, undying love that makes it happen."

Matthew nodded and replied, "I see.  Well, there is no doubt in me that I love Lycoris-both of them-with all of my heart.  I know that one of them is in love with me, too, but I don't know about the other.  I-I wouldn't have even confessed to feeling this way at all but I can't lose them.  I just can't."

Lady Penelope smiled sadly and replied,

"I understand, darling. This is why I told you about this. But you have to make sure how the other Lycoris feels towards you. For the miracle to take place, both personalities must feel the same towards you."

Matthew nodded and replied, "I understand."

He paused and then asked, "Does your daughter believe in this miracle, too?"

Lady Penelope shook her head and replied, 

"She won't mind if it happened for sure, but she doesn't depend on it. My daughter is less understanding of the whole situation, I suppose. Or rather, she sets her emotions aside for the sake of the mission she wishes to accomplish."

Matthew nodded and replied, "Yes, I understand.  I suppose my actions as of late haven't helped.  It isn't that I don't want to help.  I just want to do it for the right reasons."

He paused and then said, "I hope that both Lycoris believe in this miracle.  I will, if it means there's the hope that they'll be saved and the devils' world will be saved, too."

Lady Penelope nodded and replied, "Yes, so there are three things to accomplish. Convince my daughter to delay taking Lycoris' powers, and I'll take care of it. However, you need to make sure that the real Lycoris returns your love in the first place, and that the other personality is willing to believe in that miracle."

Matthew nodded and replied, "Yes, I understand.  It looks like we have our work cut out for us, don't we?  But I have faith that it'll be all worth it in the end.  Lycoris will be happy, safe and loved and all of our goals will be accomplished."

Lady Penelope smiled softly and replied,

"Yes, I have faith in that as well. We'll do our best for the happily ever after in the end."

Matthew returned Lady Penelope's smile and replied, "Thank you for giving me hope, my lady.  I believe that everything will work out for us.  It just has to."

Lady Penelope smiled and nodding, she said, "It will, darling. It will."

She paused then said, "I suppose you should go back to Lycoris now and I'll go see my daughter. We have a lot of talking to do."

Matthew nodded and replied, "Indeed, we do.  I will talk with you later then."

He got up, bowed, and then went back upstairs to Lycoris' room to see how she was faring.

In her room, Lycoris was waiting impatiently, wondering what was taking Matthew so long. She wanted to know what Lady Penelope was telling him, as she feared she would affect his opinion of letting her be and not sacrifice her powers.

Matthew arrived at the door of Lycoris' room, knocked, and then entered.  He approached Lycoris and taking a seat beside her, he smiled softly and said,

"I hope I didn't keep you waiting too long."

(I'll get off for the night now since I have a few more things to take care of before I go to sleep but I'll post again tomorrow before I go out.  Nite, nite, Love.  ^^)

(I was going to post last night after I come back from the pharmacy but I was truly exhausted so yeah. XD)

Lycoris had a cute pout on her face as Matthew took a seat beside her, but she replied,

"Not really, I suppose. Are you going to tell me what that woman wanted?"

(Awww no worries.  I totally understand how that is.  ^^)

Matthew replied, "Of course."

He paused and then said, "Lady Penelope was explaining to me about how her daughter felt, to get me to understand.  But she does understand how we feel, too.  This whole situation is tense."

Lycoris continued to have that pout on her face but she replied,

"I can't tell if that is how she truly feels or she just talks nicer than her daughter. But well, is she still planning on helping her out take my powers?"

Matthew shook his head and replied, "No, she understands how we feel.  She did tell me that there is another way to save the devils' world.  I wonder if you know of it, too?"

He looked curiously at Lycoris.

Lycoris looked more annoyed now and replied,

"Yes, I know. That so-called miracle of true love and all that, right? I know of it but I am not planning on depending on it. What if it's all just a lie?"

Matthew replied, "You think Lady Penelope would do such a thing?  I can understand how you feel, Lycoris.  I do.  But what we have is true love, isn't it?  Or do you think my feelings for you are only temporary?"

(Random but I wonder if you think I should get this cubic bundle?  It's pretty good even though I have a few games in that bundle already.  I was thinking of getting it mostly for the HOGs and then give away the keys for games I already have.  ^^)
