Romance RP

Lady Penelope nodded happily as she saw the dinner presented before them and happily commented,

"I like it as well. This is some sort of Asian food, right? I read about it in a book before that talked about different human world cultures."

Meanwhile, Lycoris looked a bit disappointed that Alex and Nerine didn't come down, as she hoped that they would join them for dinner.

Matthew nodded happily and replied, "Yup, that's right.  Lycoris thought of having fried rice for dinner and the chefs expanded upon it to include these other dishes."

He saw the look on Lycoris' face and gently patted her hands although he didn't say anything.

Lycoris smiled a bit as she felt Matthew's touch and then said, "Yes, the chefs have been quite kind to add other dishes' suggestions and they let me help prepare some of it too. It was a very fun experience."

Matthew added, "The chefs loved having her.  Lycoris could be a natural in the kitchen."

He smiled softly at Lycoris.

Lycoris blushed slightly and replied,

"Aww this is so sweet of you to say, Matt. Thank you. I enjoyed myself a lot in the kitchen."

Lady Penelope happily said, "Let's start eating then, shall we? The food smells quite amazing."

Matthew nodded happily and replied, "Yup, let's eat before the food gets cold."

He and the others began to eat their dinner.

The others started to eat their dinner as well, getting their fill and enjoying the food's unique taste. Lady Penelope happily commented,

"Yum, this is my first time trying out this kind of meal but it's really, really delicious."

Matthew's dad added, "It's been a while since I last had these foods but they sure are delicious."

Matthew turned to Lycoris and asked, "Are you enjoying the food, Lycoris?"

Lycoris smiled softly and nodding, she said, "Yes, it is very delicious. And I really like the taste of the other flavors of fried rice."

Lady Penelope commented, "The chefs here are really quite talented."

Matthew nodded happily and replied, "We're very lucky to have them cook for us, and they made plenty of food."

He looked to Lycoris and softly added, "Also, the company is absolutely wonderful."

Lycoris nodded happily and replied, "Absolutely."

Lady Penelope had noticed Matthew's look towards Lycoris as he said his words and giggled happily to herself. Then looking at the couple, she happily asked,

"So how did you two spend the rest of your afternoon?"

Matthew happily replied, "I played the piano for Lycoris for a little bit.  I play when I can although it's more of a hobby.  I hope it wasn't too painful for Lycoris to listen to."

He chuckled softly to himself.

Lycoris quickly shook her head and speaking quite honestly, she said,

"Oh no, Matt's playing was absolutely beautiful. He can play music really well."

Lady Penelope giggled happily and said, "Aww now we want to hear it sometime, too. It's unfair that Lycoris gets to enjoy this by herself. And then we can judge how good it is for ourselves."

Matthew nodded and replied, "Of course, my lady.  I'd be happy to play for you all sometime but I must warn you that I only play as a hobby so I do make mistakes here and there.  But if you want to listen to me play sometime, I'd be very happy to do so."

The chancellor replied with interest in his voice, "I'll be curious to hear you play sometime too, sir."

Lady Penelope replied happily, "It's beautiful that you play music as a hobby. It's a beautiful thing to do in your free time."

Matthew blushed and replied, "Awww thank you.  I don't get a chance to play often since I'm quite busy with work but I do like to play when I have some free time."

Matthew's dad added, "Bryan would be quite impressed."

Lycoris commented,

"I've heard Bryan play before and he is quite talented but Matt plays beautifully too. I am sure that if he gives it a little more time and practice, he'll improve a lot."

Matthew's dad nodded and replied, "Oh yes, I'm sure of it, too.  I have offered to send Matt to the conservatory here if he'd like to improve more."

Matthew shook his head and replied, "I know but I want to focus on helping patients.  Playing is more of a hobby."

Lycoris had a curious look on her face as she replied to Matt,

"So you aren't interested in growing your musical talents? Can't you do both things-play music and help patients?"

Matthew looked thoughtful and replied, "It's not impossible but if I were to attend the academy, it would take time away that I could be taking care of patients and honing my medical skills further."

Matthew's dad replied, "But you know that I can take care of the patients.  I don't need to retire any time soon."

Lycoris smiled softly and replied,

"It sounds like Matt always puts his patients above anyone and anything else and that's admirable. But I really wish you put more effort in taking care of your talent, Matt. It's worth taking care of."

Matthew smiled softly and replied, "If it's for you, Lycoris, then I'd be willing to give it a try."

He gazed fondly at Lycoris and Matthew's dad smiled, clearly seeing how taken Matthew was by Lycoris.

Lady Penelope giggled happily and slyly said,

"Oooh Lycoris, now you should feel quite special."

Lycoris blushed deeply and hanging her head shyly, she replied, "That's sweet of you to say, Matt, but I truly mean it when I say that your music is wonderful and is worth growing and taking care of. I hope you seriously consider it."

Matthew nodded and replied, "I will, Lycoris.  I promise."

He reached out and gently squeezed her shoulder, gazing happily at her and feeling encouraged by her words and support.

Lycoris blushed deeply but had a happy smile over her face, glad that she was able to affect Matthew positively and encourage him take care of his musical talent. Lady Penelope continued observing the couple happily and giggling quietly to herself, admiring them.
