Romance RP

Melody received Ryan's message and whinning quietly, she said,

Ok. Stay ready. Sia should be here soon so prepare yourself, ok?

Ryan replied,

I will.  I'll be very close so I can listen to what Sia tells you.

Melody whinnied quietly in response and said nothing more. A little later, the stable's door opened and Lisianthus entered. As she thought that she was alone, she approached Melody and smiling a bit at her, she quietly said,

"Hey, Melody. How are you doing, girl?"

The pegasus whinnied in response to her and Lisianthus reached out to pet her gently. Quietly, she said,

"I’m glad you’re alright. I wish I could say for me but I...I'm not feeling any better, Melody. It-it's as though everything just keeps getting worse, you know?"

She looked quite sad and depressed although she did her best to stay composed.

Ryan watched and listened as Lisianthus talked to Melody.  His heart ached as he listened in, especially hearing how depressed Lisianthus was.

Melody whinnied gently, as though she were trying to comfort Lisianthus. Her mistress continued petting her gently and sadly, she continued,

"Ryan talked to me again today, trying again to tell me that he wants to fix things and that he-he regrets everything he did to me but...how can I believe him again, Melody? He lied to me before, right? He used to be playing behind my back, cooperating with that shapeshifter and that-that chancellor yet every night, he would hug me, kiss me and speak words of love to me all the same. How can I trust him again? How can I believe him now when he would say that he loves me and wants to fix things with me, how?"

Ryan furrowed his eyebrows, understanding Lisianthus' dilemma.  He had to figure out a way to get Lisianthus to see his side of things although he had no idea how he was yet to do so.  Still, he listened in, hoping to get as much information as he could.

Melody would whinny quietly, trying to comfort Lisianthus as much as she could, who continued to pet her pegasus gently as she spoke her heart out to her, barely holding back her tears. She continued sadly,

"I-I had a lot of faith in him, Melody. I-I thought that I finally found the man who would believe in me, trust me and stand by my side. The man who would see past through what everyone else saw and wouldn’t judge me like everyone else did but....he turned out to be just like them. He, too, saw me in that dreadful way and didn’t trust me when it mattered. Why would his words matter now?"

Ryan looked saddened and he couldn't help but tear up a little upon hearing Lisianthus' words, as he realized how truly heartbroken she was.  It would take more effort than he had put in up until now if he were to have any chance in mending things with her.

Lisianthus took a breath and although she felt herself breaking down more by the moment, she did herself to remain as composed as possible. She quietly continued,

"I-I can't forgive him, Melody. I can't feel safe with him if he betrayed me twice, right? So, the right thing to do would be to just break up with him, wait until everything settles down and then...he would leave once and for all to the humans' world and we-we would never see each other again, right? It's kind of what I am trying to do but...it hurts, Melody. It hurts because..."

Her tears finally trickling down as she seemed to be breaking down, she continued softly,

"Because I still love him, Melody. With every fibre of my heart, I do."

As Ryan heard Lisianthus' words, he couldn't help but communicate telepathically to Melody,

I don't wish to interfere but is there not a way you could let Sia know to let her heart guide her?  I know you don't want to communicate with her the way you do with me but maybe through some motions?

Melody received Ryan's message and thinking of something, she whinnied softly to Lisianthus and used her head to point at Lisianthus' heart, as though she were telling her to listen to her heart. Understanding what the pegasus meant, Lisianthus shook her head and not holding back her tears, she replied,

"I can't just do that, Melody. Yes, I love him so much, Melody. I haven’t stopped loving him, not even for a moment. Every time he would talk to me, I-I would just want to throw myself in his arms and forget everything else, pretend that nothing happened but I-I can't do that. How can I trust him? I love him still very much, Melody, but I don't trust him. I-I don't know for sure that he's on my side. I don't feel safe with him anymore."

She paused then quietly, almost in a whisper, she said, "You-you know how mom died. What if I end up facing the same fate, killed by the man I love the most?"

Ryan's heart tore up as he heard Lisianthus' latter words and he finally understood.  Of course, he would never hurt her as her dad had hurt her mom, but how could he convey that message to her?  Ryan knew that he wasn't anything like Lisianthus' dad.

Melody whinnied loudly as she heard Lisianthus' words, indicating that she strongly opposed them and that Lisianthus should put such ideas out of her mind. However, Lisianthus looked at her tearfully and said,

"Why not, Melody? You-you know how madly mom and dad were in love. For eighteen years, their love story was admired by everyone yet when dad saw her as an obstacle, he just got rid of her. His-his love for her didn't prevent him from hurting her. Just-just like Ryan's love for me didn't prevent him from betraying me."

She bit her lower lip and continued in a broken voice, "Why did he do that? I-I love him, Melody. I love him so much it hurts. I-I can't take in this pain anymore."

She broke down in tears and not even able to keep standing, she fell to her knees, not holding back any tears or emotions.

Ryan had to fight the urge to rush to Lisianthus and hold her in his arms, to reassure her that he would never betray her.  It broke his heart to see Lisianthus in such pain, and he understood what Melody had meant.  Watching Lisianthus talk to Melody helped a lot, and he had to figure out how to repair the pain he had caused her.

Lisianthus continued crying to herself for a while, feeling free in doing so as she thought that no one was nearby to watch or judge her, and she could let out all her emotions freely. Eventually, she calmed down relatively, and looking up at Melody, she quietly said,

"I-I heard about something though, that may help alleviate this pain. It's said that certain powerful dark magic sorcerers can...they can erase a particular part of a person's memory if they wanted it. So what if-if I can get one of them to erase my memory of Ryan? So I would forget him, all our memories and my love for him...and-and then I would be able to go on, without hurting so much."

Although the idea pained her to the core, she seemed to be truly thinking about it.

Ryan was alarmed as he heard of Lisianthus' idea and he telepathically communicated to Melody,

You have to stop Sia from going through this idea.  She can't do it.  She can't.

(Sorry for the delay. My internet was disconnected for a few minutes and all. XD)

Melody received Ryan's message and she herself was alarmed by the idea. Whinnying loudly, she made it clear that she was totally against Lisianthus' idea, and that she couldn't do that. Lisianthus was a little surprised by her reaction but after a moment of silence, she replied quietly,

"Why not? Am I not going to end things with Ryan anyways? So why should I keep suffering like this? I can forget him and-and then I won't have to hurt anymore."

(Ahh that's all right.  XD)

Ryan replied to Melody,

But Sia taking away her pain like that by forgetting me won't solve her problems.  And she's stronger if she faces her problems instead of running away from them.

Melody heard Ryan's message and although she agreed with every single letter, she wasn't sure how to tell Lisianthus that without talking to her. Whinnying at her again, she was a little louder and harsher, trying to snap Lisianthus out of that train of thoughts. Lisianthus could understand her opposition clearly but it wasn't enough to change her thinking. Sighing, she quietly said,

"Yeah, Melody. I know it's not the best thing to do but I...I'm really tired of all of it. Why doesn't anyone understand? It isn't fun. It isn't fun to keep taking in all the pain and responsibility. Can't I be selfish for once? To do what would make me feel better, regardless of anything?"

Ryan replied,

Sia has the right to be selfish but don't I have the right to be selfish, too?  What can I do to stop her?

Melody felt troubled, not sure what to do. Messaging Ryan back, she said,

I don't know, Ryan. There isn't much I can do to change her mind but...maybe if you reveal yourself and she knows that you heard everything...but that's quite risky, isn't it?

Ryan replied,

Yeah, it is.  I-I don't know.  Maybe I should talk to Duchess Irene as soon as possible and see what she thinks?

Melody replied,

Yes, that would be better. Maybe she can think of something, a solution to this.

Lisianthus had stayed thoughtfully quiet for a few moments but then getting up, she wiped away her tears and taking a breath, she approached Melody and prepared to get her out of her stall. Melody looked hesitant however, thinking that Lisianthus would try to go drinking again, but Lisianthus said,

"No, don't worry. Not tonight. We're just going to visit Lycoris, ok? I haven't visited her in a couple of days and I don't want her to feel lonely by herself."

Ryan felt relieved that Lisianthus didn't plan to go through with her idea today so Ryan told Melody,

I'll talk to Duchess Irene and Lycoris as well.  Maybe Lycoris can calm Sia down.

Melody replied,

Alright. I'll accompany and watch over her. Don't worry; I won't let her do anything rash even if she wanted to. Take care for now, Ryan.

Lisianthus led her slowly out of her stall and once outside, she got on her and the two took off to the sky.
