Alex sighed to himself and replied,

I understand but Lycoris is hurting and do you really want to part with Lycoris on those terms?  She'll most likely be dead after she sacrifices her powers, you know.

Ryan bit his lower lip and replied,

Then I'll get to you before tonight.  I-I don't know how but I'll find a way.  I'll get to you, angel.

Nerine didn't know what to say, but after a few moments, she replied quietly,

What do you want from me now, Alex? I-I let her talk to me and say everything she wanted to say and I didn't say anything. What do you want? What does she want?

Lycoris replied tearfully,

Will-will you be able to? Will you, really?

She admitted inside that she yearned to see Ryan one more time before she would be gone so they could say goodbye properly.

Alex replied,

I would like it if you two could end on good terms.  Lycoris thinks that you hate her but I don't want to force you to talk to her if you aren't up to it.  But tell me-do you hate her?  If not, then tell me and I'll tell her.  That might be enough to give her some peace of mind.

Ryan replied,

I-I'm not sure but I'll try.  It won't be easy without Sia finding out but maybe if I come up with a plausible excuse, she may let me go to the human world alone.  I will find a way.  I'm not letting us say goodbye like this.

Nerine replied after a few minutes of silence,

I-I don't like her but no...I don't hate her.

Lycoris replied,

I-I will wait for you then. I don't want to say goodbye this way either. I-I wish to see you one more time before I go, Ryan.

Alex felt relieved by Nerine's answer and replied,

Then I will tell Lycoris.  I'm sure she'll feel at peace knowing that.

Ryan replied,

Then I will do my best to come see you.  I know where you and the others are so if possible, would you please not tell them?  Or you can tell Alex if you want.

Nerine was relieved that Alex was satisfied by her answer, and wanting to get away from this conversation and be by herself for a little while to sort out her thoughts, she replied,

Is there anything else? If you don't mind, I want to stay by myself for a bit.

Lycoris knew that telling the others of Ryan's coming will cause unrest and worry, so she replied,

I-I will tell Alex only and no one else.

Alex replied,

No, that's it.  I'll let you rest then but I'll contact you again soon, ok?  Take care, my darling.

Ryan replied,

Ok.  I'll contact you again soon when I'm close enough to reach you, ok?  Please wait for me, Lycoris.

Nerine replied,

I will be waiting for it. Goodbye, Alex and take care.

Lycoris replied,

I-I will wait as long as I can. Please come. I do want to see you.

Alex replied,

I love you, darling.  Talk to you later.


He then shut off the telepathy and waited for Lycoris to finish.

Ryan replied,

I'll do my best, Lycoris.  I'll contact you again as soon as I'm able to.  I love you.  Please remember that.

Lycoris replied slowly,

I-I love you too. I'm waiting for you. Take care of yourself.

She shut off the telepathy afterwards, her heart beating fast as she anticipated Ryan's arrival and wondered if he would be really able to reach her.

As Alex noticed that Lycoris was done, he turned to her and gently asked,

"Hey, is everything ok?  How did your talk with Ryan go?"

Meanwhile, Ryan had to calm himself and act as though things were normal.  He would need to find a way to go to the human world sooner than he expected and he knew that he would need help.

(Getting sleepy here so I'll get off for the night now and go to sleep.  I'll check back tomorrow and post again.  Nite, nite, Love.  ^^)

Lycoris took a moment to calm down then quietly replied,

"He-he is coming. He wants to see me and say goodbye properly in person."

Meanwhile, Lisianthus was finishing up her paperwork and unaware of Ryan's conversation with Lycoris, she turned to him and said,

"I'm all done here. I should head to the throne room to take care of a few more things. Are you coming?"

Alex nodded and replied, "I see.  It's good that Ryan is going to make an effort to see you.  Your goodbyes should be more personal.

And I talked to my darling.  She doesn't hate you.  She's in shock more than anything else."

Ryan turned to Lisianthus and replied, "Ahh can I join you in a moment, beautiful?  I want to tell Duchess Irene what happened with Duke Collins.  I think she should know as soon as possible."

Lycoris looked hopeful and asked,

"R-Really? So she really doesn't hate me? Has-has she forgiven me for the pain I caused her in the past?"

Lisianthus furrowed her eyebrows in confusion and replied,

"You're going to the academy to see her? I think it can wait until tonight when she returns."

Although Alex couldn't be completely sure, he nodded and replied, "Yes, she has.  She's pretty sad that you'll be gone forever so that's why she didn't say anything earlier.  In fact, she wanted to be left alone.  I guess she's going to grieve in her own way."

Ryan quickly shook his head and replied, "Oh, that's not what I meant.  I'm going to communicate with her telepathically so I don't know how long a conversation that will be.  I should have done so earlier but it only occurred to me just now."

Lycoris smiled softly and despite the situation, she felt happy. Well, definitely not happy that Nerine was sad, but she was happy to know that Nerine was finally forgiving her and caring about her. She replied softly,

"This is the happiest piece of news I could have ever received. I don't want anything more after knowing this."

Lisianthus nodded and replied,

"Oh in that case, sure. I'll head to the throne room then and you can join me when you are done. See you later, cutie."

She gave him a quick kiss then went out of the office.

Alex hugged Lycoris and replied,

"Well, you've been a part of her life for so long so I think she'll miss you, just as I will."

After Lisianthus left, Ryan opened up the telepathy and reached out to Irene, he said,

Duchess Irene, it's me.  Are you there?  I need to talk to you right away.

Lycoris returned Alex's hug gently and smiling sadly, she replied,

"Will you, Alex? Will you remember me with Nerine? I don't know what awaits me in the other life but if I can reach you, if I can always watch over you, I won't leave you for a moment."

Irene received Ryan's message and wondering what was the matter, she replied,

I am here, Ryan. What's wrong? Is something the matter?

Alex nodded and replied, "Of course.  I hope that somehow, your spirit will be able to see us although I do still hope for that miracle.  But I guess we should be realistic as well."

Ryan replied,

Y-yes, I'm afraid so and this couldn't wait.


He then told Irene about the conversation he had with Lycoris and how Lycoris was planning on sacrificing her powers tonight.  He then told her that he needed to reach her before then.

Lycoris smiled a little and patted Alex's hand gently. She paused for a moment then asked quietly,

"Will you return to everyone else after it's done?"

Irene listened carefully to Ryan and was alarmed as she heard the news. She replied,

Tonight? We can't let them. We have to do something and prevent this from happening all together.

Alex replied, "Well, I'll have to return to the shapeshifter and the others but I should soon be reunited with my darling afterwards.  Everything will be wrapped up and in time, things will get quiet again."

Ryan replied,

I have to reach her, at the very least.  I told Lycoris that I would come see her.  I couldn't part with her like that.  But how are we going to get to the human world without Sia's help?  If we say that we suddenly want to go, she'll suspect that something's up.

Lycoris nodded and after a moment of silence, she quietly asked,

"The shapeshifter...do you think she will still go after Sia?"

Irene furrowed her eyebrows and after a few moments of silence, she said,

Ryan, don't you think it's time to tell Sia about everything? I know this is not what you want and it's too soon for her to know but...we have no choice at this point. If we don't head there and save Lycoris, she will be gone before we know it.

Alex sighed and replied, "Maybe but I promise that I'll do everything I can to make sure that they don't hurt each other.  I can't bear to witness any more pain on either side.  It has to end some time, right?"

Ryan replied,

But Sia will be furious that I've kept so much from her and I-I wanted to handle things on my own.  Isn't there any other way to go to the human world?  I mean, how does Duke Collins do so without Sia's help?

Lycoris nodded and replied,

"That's what I mean. I pray for peace and quiet for everyone. They all deserve it, I think."

Irene sighed and replied,

Opening the gate is no riddle. The chapel's priest can open it for us but you won't be able to hide it from Lisianthus. She'll definitely know from one of the servants of the priest himself. And will you be able to stop them from sacrificing her powers on your own?

(Sorry if I'm slow in posting btw.  I'm gaming and chatting with my significant other as well as posting here.  XD)

Alex nodded and replied, "I agree.  I promise I'll do everything I can to make sure that they both have some kind of peace.  I believe that's what the rest of us want as well."

Ryan replied,

Well, the shapeshifter told me that there might be a way for Lycoris to be alive despite the ritual.  It's nothing short of a miracle but I'm willing to take the risk.
