(lol I see. XD People need to revise the walkthroughs before posting it. I'd be very frustrated if I followed a guide and it turned out to be inaccurate at the end. XD)

Nerine received Alex's message and she wasn't too angry about the matter, as she could guess the problems they went through. She replied,

Hey, Alex. Don't worry about it. I have an idea of what happened. The shapeshifter was captured, wasn't she?

(Definitely.  XD)

Alex replied,

Yes...yes, she was.  I guess Sia must have told everyone back at the castle and I'm guessing that you know about the chancellor, too?

Nerine replied,

I do. Umm do you have anything to do with it? It's just that the two incidents happened nearly at the same time, and everyone is guessing that someone must have helped the chancellor escape.

Alex replied,

Yes, Lady Penelope and I are responsible for freeing the chancellor.  We thought that with his knowledge of the castle layout, he might know a way to free the shapeshifter.  We assume that she's still in the dungeons.

Nerine replied,

I-I see.

She was getting more worried as Alex was deeply getting involved into the matter and in trouble. Voicing her opinion, she replied worriedly,

Alex, Sia is very mad. She's specially ticked off by the chancellor's escape. If-if she finds out that you had something to do with this...

Alex replied,

You believe she would hurt me?  He isn't a bad man.  I mean, he's done some bad things but I can understand his reasons although I cannot justify his actions.

Nerine replied,

I-I know. I believe you but explain that to Sia. She hates the man and is particularly frustrated by his escape. I don't think she has connected the two incidents yet but I-I want you to be careful. If she does find out that we were involved in this all along, I-I don't know what could happen.

Alex sighed and replied,

What do you think we should do, darling?  The chancellor wants to help us free the shapeshifter but do you believe we should do something different?

Nerine replied,

No, I don't think so. You've become way too involved now to back off but, please, please be careful. I don't want anything bad to happen to you.

Alex replied,

I understand.  I promise I'll be careful.  There will come a time that Sia will eventually have to know the truth but the chancellor is worried that she may hurt you.  You know her well so do you really believe she would hurt people close to her?

Nerine was silent for a few moments, as although she would have answered confidently if asked this question earlier, she didn't know now. She replied,

I-I don't know. I can't tell. Sia is so changed from how I used to know her before.

Alex looked thoughtful and asked,

Do you think the death of her parents changed Sia greatly?  I know death can change people.  Before, I wouldn't have believed that Sia was capable of causing pain but I just don't know anymore.

(Sorry for the delay in responding. My mom was calling me frequently but I should post regularly now. XD)

Nerine sighed and sadly replied,

I-I can't tell. Sia and I have been apart for a long time and a lot happened. But I suppose that's the reason behind her change. She found herself all alone all of a sudden and was forced to become queen and stand up for herself. Her actions may be her way of trying to look strong.

(No problem.  XD)

Alex looked thoughtful and replied,

Perhaps you can talk to her?  Slowly get her to see that some of her actions may not have been the best.  I wish things weren't so complicated now.

Nerine quickly replied with a little fear,

I-I don't think that's a good idea. What if she suspects me of anything or that I know about you? I am not one to interfere with her actions and if I try to defend the chancellor or the shapeshifter in any way, I'll look quite suspicious. And-and that Ryan knows everything so it's best not to involve myself.

Alex replied, I guess you're right.  Perhaps I can talk to Ryan and have him persuade Sia to see what has happened because of her actions?  Although I don't know how much influence he has on her.

Nerine replied,

Maybe although wouldn't Ryan have a similar line of thinking to hers? But I don't know. He hasn't told her anything of what he knows so that's a good sign at least.

Alex replied, 

Yes, that's right.  He could have easily told her the truth but obviously, he hasn't.  I don't know what his reasons are but at least it gives us time to work things out.

Nerine paused then replied,

I-I guess but...do you think that, if you successfully got the shapeshifter out of here, would he tell Sia everything? I mean, I can imagine how furious Sia would be and her chances at finding Lycoris some other way would get quite limited. She'd have no other solutions.

Alex replied, 

Yes, that's true.  The shapeshifter is the only leverage that Sia has now.  I don't know Ryan that well but I think he'll eventually tell her.  It's just a matter of when.

Nerine sighed as her fears and worries grew. She slowly replied,

Sia would be quite furious at us. I-I can't imagine her reaction, or what she might do.

Remembering what the chancellor said earlier, Alex replied,

Perhaps we should get you out of there before Sia finds out the truth.  I want to hope that she won't hurt you but I don't want to take that chance.

Nerine replied slowly,

You-you think I should run away, in case you successfully get the shapeshifter out of here? I-I'd hate to do that even though I understand why. But that would be destroying our relationship with Sia forever.

Alex sighed and replied,

Yes, you're right.  Darling, is there any solution that won't make anyone too upset?  I want Sia to understand.  I don't think we're hurting her.  I just wish she would see that there's always another side to things and everything isn't one-sided.

Nerine sighed and replied,

I don't think so and things have become way too complicated now to do anything. Unless a miracle happens and Sia changes her mind or something, I don't believe there's a safe solution.
