Irene replied,

Alright then. Could you keep me updated? I don't know if you'll be able to talk from the shapeshifter's hideout but if you could, do talk to me, ok?

Ryan replied,

If I find a way, I'll do so.  The shapeshifter did say that I would have to wear this bracelet when I take Lycoris to meet her.  It's meant to prevent me from using my powers.  But if I can find a way to contact you again, I will.

Irene was a little worried as Ryan mentioned this bracelet but hoping he knew what he was doing, she said,

Alright then. Take care of yourself, Ryan. We'll be awaiting your return.

Ryan nodded and replied, 

I will.  You take care, too.  Good night.


After shutting off the telepathy, Ryan got up and headed upstairs back to his and Lycoris' room.  He did feel tired but yet he wasn't exactly in the mood to go to sleep.

Meanwhile, the head healer and Lycoris were in the room, waiting for Ryan. Lycoris had drunk her coffee, which helped her feel a little more awake, but she wondered what was taking Ryan so long, if everything was ok with Duchess Irene.

Ryan finally arrived back in the room and smiling a bit to both the head healer and Lycoris, he said,

"I'm back.  I'm sorry I took so long."

He looked to Lycoris and asked, "How was the coffee?  It's a bit strong, isn't it?"

Lycoris smiled happily as Ryan returned and nodding, she replied,

"It is. I couldn't bear the taste in the beginning but I could drink it all in the end and I am feeling better. Thanks for making it for me, Ryan."

She paused then asked, "Is everything ok?"

Ryan nodded and replied, "Ahh yes, everything's fine.  It just took me a while because I talked to both Sia and Duchess Irene."

He looked to the head healer and added, "I do apologize for making you wait for me, sir.  I know I must have taken some time."

Lycoris was attentive as Ryan mentioned talking to Lisianthus but didn't say anything. The head healer then smiled to Ryan and said,

"It's no problem, sir. I'll take my leave now so you and Lady Lycoris can take your rest. Please excuse me."

He got up, bowed and then left. Once she and Ryan were alone, Lycoris eagerly asked,

"You talked to Sia? How did things go? Is she better now? Were you able to mend things?"

Ryan replied, "At least she talked to me.  We may be able to repair things between us but it'll take time and Sia needs her space.  She does still love me, though.  She told me herself."

He hoped that Lycoris wouldn't press for too many details about his conversation.

(Getting sleepy here so I'll get off for the night now and go to sleep.  I'll check back tomorrow and post again.  Nite, nite, Love.  ^^)

Lycoris was relieved to hear Ryan's response and smiling happily, she said, "See? I knew it. If she still loves you, then you two can overcome anything. Once the exchange is over and you and Alex return to the gods' world, I am sure you two will be able to talk things out and everything will be ok."

She was genuinely happy for both of them, for she depended on Lisianthus to make Ryan happy after she was gone.

Ryan nodded and quietly replied, "Yes, I suppose so."

He also wanted to add that things would never be the same if Lycoris weren't there with them but refrained from doing so.  Instead, he said,

"Do you want more coffee or will this be enough, you think?"

Lycoris shook her head and replied, "This will be enough."

She paused, and as she couldn't help but feel that something was off, for Ryan sounded troubled or even sad, she gently touched his hand and asked,

"Ryan, is everything ok? I-I can't help but sense that you're almost sad or something...You aren't hiding anything from me, right?"

Ryan quickly shook his head and replied, "No, everything is fine."

He paused and added, "I know I should be happy that I still have a chance to resolve things with Sia but..."

He looked sadly at Lycoris, wishing that he could tell her what he was feeling about missing her.

Lycoris looked confused for a moment but then understanding what Ryan wanted to say, she squeezed his hand gently and said,

"Everything will be fine, Ryan. I know you'll be strong enough to get through this and...and Sia will be there by your side."

Ryan nodded and replied, "I know but nothing will be the same without you."

As on an impulse, he gave Lycoris a fierce, loving hug, wishing to spend every moment with her for as long as possible.

Lycoris was surprised as Ryan suddenly hugged her and she felt the tears moisten her eyes but she controlled herself. She returned the hug tightly and lovingly as well, gently saying,

"I know you'll miss me, Ryan, but I'll be there. I'll be always in your memory and your heart."

Ryan replied, "Definitely and as long as I remember you and have you in my heart, you'll be alive there.  I love you so much, my angel.  My world has been so much better because of you.  I want you to know that."

Lycoris blushed and her heart was deeply touched by Ryan's words, that a couple of tears trickled down her cheeks. She hugged him again tightly, finding no words to express the gratitude and love in her heart that moment, or the sadness she felt that she was getting separated from him forever.

(Aww that whole scene is making me sad.  :/)

Ryan continued to hold Lycoris in his arms and after a few minutes, he did his best to compose himself and said,

"I'm sorry, angel.  I'm trying to be strong but it's so hard."

(Yeah, me too. :/ These two deserve a happier ending. :/)

Lycoris took a deep breath and reaching out to wipe away her tears, she did her best to smile and said,

"Everything will be ok, Ryan. I promise you. And-and you'll be happy and strong again in no time. Trust me."

(I agree.  I think those two make the perfect couple but there sure a lot of obstacles in their way.  :/)

Although Ryan doubted that he would be happy that quickly, he replied, "I-I suppose so."

He paused and then said, "I guess I should wash up and get ready for some sleep but do you want anything first?"

(That's sure true. :/)

Lycoris shook her head and replied,

"No, thanks, Ryan. I'll remain with the little ones here and wait for you. Take your time."

Ryan nodded and replied, "Ok, I'll be back as soon as I'm done."

He gave Lycoris a kiss on each cheek and getting up, he then took a pair of pajamas and went into the bathroom to wash up and change for the night.

As Ryan got ready for the night, Lycoris played with the little puppies, petting them gently. Her heart was full of sadness for she wished things didn't have to end this way, but there was no other choice. She did her best to stay strong for Ryan's sake and hoped that he would be able to overcome this quickly.
