Romance RP

Irene walked to Ryan's side and putting her hands on his shoulders, she gently said,

"Are you sure, Ryan? You're very weak yourself. You need to get your rest. Let's just leave Lycoris be and the head healer will remain by her side. Won't you, sir?"

She turned to the head healer who nodded in answer. Irene was worried for Ryan's mental and physical state and didn't know whether staying by Lycoris' side would help much.

Ryan got up and wiping his tears, he replied,

"But what if she wakes up and I'm not there?  She'll worry that something bad happened to me.  I'm going to stay by her side.  I can rest with her.  My health doesn't matters.  Only hers does."

Irene looked firmly but gently at Ryan and replied,

"Alright, Ryan but don't say that your health doesn't matter. If it doesn't matter to you, it matters to Lycoris. I'm sure she'll wake up and when she does, I want her to find you well and strong by her side, alright?"

Ryan nodded and replied, "Ok, I'll try to get some rest, too, for Lycoris' sake."

He wrapped his arms around Lycoris in a protective, loving embrace and rested comfortably on the bed.

Meanwhile, the puppies looked on with worry as they witnessed the entire scene but seeing that Ryan and Lycoris were resting, they placed themselves at the foot of the bed, protecting the couple.

Irene was a little relieved as Ryan said he would rest and said, "We'll let you get some rest then. I'll check on you later, Ryan."

She gave his hand a gentle squeeze and then she and the head healer left the room.

After Irene and the head healer left, Ryan looked at Lycoris and said,

"I love you so much, Lycoris, and I'm so sorry that I did this to you.  Please wake up so I can forgive you in person right here for all the pain that I've caused you."

He leaned in to give Lycoris a sweet loving kiss on the lips.  Then he laid down on the pillow and closed his eyes, falling fast asleep.

Meanwhile, Irene and the head healer went downstairs, both saddened by how things turned out. As both didn't have an appetite anymore, none of them ate anything.

Irene then contacted Lisianthus in order to tell her of everything that happened. She wondered what they should do now, as Alex and Nerine were still in danger and needed to be rescued, but she didn't know whether Ryan was up for going through the ordeal anymore.

Ryan continued to sleep but as he did so, he felt his mind become plagued by nightmares of Lycoris in pain.  Unconsciously, he held Lycoris tightly in his arms, as though letting her go would mean that he would lose her forever.  He wished that there was more he could do for her but he felt so helpless.  He was a powerful sorcerer and yet he failed to save the woman whom he loved with the strength of his heart.

Irene finished communicating with Lisianthus, telling her of everything that happened. Lisianthus was quite worried especially about Ryan, and even mentioned that she would come to the humans' world herself to be by his side, but Irene told her that it was alright at least for now, and that she would be there for him.

Deciding to at least get some work done, she took Lycoris' duplicated powers and teleported to the portal to the devils' world, to make sure that they were working as they should.

Ryan continued to sleep despite the nightmares that were plaguing his mind.  He would mutter such things like,

"Please don't hurt her.  Take me.  Take me instead."

He felt his heart in such pain and anguish and he felt hopeless.

(Hmm, should we continue with this until one of them wakes up?)

(Ahh I don't think Lycoris would wake up for a while so I'll leave it up to you. XD)

Irene made it to the devils' world and fortunately, the moment she made it there, the forests around her started coming back to life, confirming that Lycoris' duplicated powers worked. This was some good news at least.

Having made sure of that, Irene made it back to the humans' world and back to Ryan's house. As a little time had passed, she decided to check on the couple, to make sure they were sleeping peacefully at least.

Ryan continued to sleep for a while and then as another powerful nightmare invaded his mind, he woke up with a start.  He turned to Lycoris and fortunately, she was still beside him although asleep.  He was relieved and gently said,

"I love you, my angel.  I don't ever wish to lose you."

Irene made it to the couple's room and after knocking gently, she entered the room, expecting to see the couple sleeping. However, only Lycoris was, as Ryan was awake. Looking gently at him, she quietly said,

"Are you still awake, Ryan? I thought we agreed that you'll get some rest."

Ryan replied quietly, "I did get some rest but then I got this nightmare where I lost my angel so I woke up.  But fortunately, she's here."

He paused and then looking to Irene, he asked, "Do you think she'll wake up soon?  I don't care if she hates me after all of this.  I wouldn't blame her if she did but as long as she wakes up and is well, nothing else matters."

Honestly, Irene didn't know, but she wanted to keep a positive mind. She replied,

"She'll wake up, I am sure. We just need to have faith that she will. And I am sure she won't hate you or blame you when she does. Lycoris...Lycoris loves you, Ryan, as much as you love her. I can tell she wanted nothing but to be with you."

Ryan felt a little hopeful and replied, "Is that really so?  I don't know when my love for her began but I felt myself become closer to my angel as we spent more time together.  Any man would be lucky to have her."

He felt saddened again and quietly added, "Maybe this is happening because I'm not worthy of her.  I'm evil and selfish."

Irene furrowed her eyebrows in surprise and concern and replied,

"What are you saying, Ryan? Don't call yourself that. If you're saying such things because of what happened, it isn't your fault. You didn't mean to hurt Lycoris. You aren't evil nor selfish."

She sighed then continued, "I am sure there's a happy ending for all of this, Ryan. You just need to fight your way through it."

Ryan nodded and replied, "I-I'll do my best."

He then realized something and looking sadly at Irene, he said, "We were supposed to make plans to get Alex and Nerine back, right?  I haven't been helping you at all.  I'm sorry."

He felt horrible that it seemed as though he were only causing more problems and burdens for others.

Irene quickly smiled a bit to Ryan to comfort him and replied, "No, it's fine. It's ok. I understand what you're going through, Ryan."

She paused then said, "I just returned from the devils' world. I tried Lycoris' duplicated powers and they worked perfectly. The moment I stepped there, the forests came back to life immediately. So we just need to have that fire spell cast and contact the shapeshifter for the next meeting."

Ryan nodded and replied, "Ok.  I suppose I should try to get some more rest so I can cast the fire spell.  Lycoris would want me to continue on with the plan, regardless of her current state, right?"

He gazed at Lycoris, brushing a strand of her hair away from her face.

Irene nodded and replied, "Yes, I am sure of that. And who knows? Maybe if Lycoris somehow knew that Alex and Nerine are back safe and sound, it would give her strength to wake up."

She got up and continued, "Get more rest, Ryan and when it's around lunchtime, I'll bring you lunch up here. If you need anything, let me know, ok?"

Ryan nodded and feeling more motivated to get better, he replied, "Ok.  Thank you for everything, Duchess Irene.  I know I must be troubling you with all of this and doing things that I should be taking care of but I really appreciate all of your efforts."

He smiled softly at her, truly grateful for her presence.

Irene returned Ryan's smile and replied, "Don't mention it. It's no trouble and I am more than happy to help out. I'll see you later, Ryan."

She bowed her head to him then went out of the room, going back downstairs.

After Irene left, Ryan laid his head back on the pillow and wrapped his arms around Lycoris.  Talking to Irene gave him the motivation to get better so he could help with the plan to get Alex and Nerine back.  That way, Lycoris could wake up and be well once she knew that the people she cared for were safe.  He had to do that for Lycoris, at the very least.

So he closed his eyes, soon falling asleep again.

Irene and the head healer remained downstairs, talking about the situation and such. Irene would also check on Robert outside, making sure he had enough water and all.

It was soon around lunchtime and both of them got up to prepare lunch for everyone.
