Lisianthus smiled and replied,

"Yeah, the usual. Work in the morning and the rest of the day wandering around or spending time with Avi. I'm getting used to the routine although I can't help feeling lonely without you, cutie. I know it's just a month away from you and we talk every night but it's not enough. I want you with me always, like before. I miss you very much."

Ryan couldn't help but feel guilty as Lisianthus expressed how much she missed him.  He didn't feel such ache in his heart although he did miss Lisianthus' presence.  He replied,

"I miss you, too, you know, but it is only a month and we'll see each other again before you know it.  And once this whole mess with the captain has been taken care of, things can be like they were before, right?"

Lisianthus nodded happily and replied, "Yup, of course. I'm going to make us make up for this lost time!"

She paused then asked, "So, cutie, have you talked to Lycoris about the thing with Duke Collins?"

Ryan expected that Lisianthus would bring up this topic and he replied,

"Yeah, I mentioned it to her but as I expected, she was very much against the idea.  She's still very much afraid of Duke Collins and I don't think pushing her this early would be a good idea.  The healer did say that Lycoris needs to recover, especially in regards to her mental state."

Lisianthus expected this response as well, especially that Ryan didn't seem too enthusiastic about it so he wouldn't try to persuade Lycoris. Sighing, she replied,

"Yeah, I expected this. I don't blame her although I'd hoped that she would be a bit more open to the idea. But oh well."

Her voice getting happier, she said, "That's why I thought of someone else though. Someone who cares very deeply about Lycoris and Lycoris herself likes him. All they need is more time together and I am sure the sparks will start flying! Can you guess who it is?"

Ryan raised an eyebrow, having no clue whatsoever as to whom Lisianthus was talking about.  He couldn't imagine who would be able to make Lycoris as happy as he could and the thought of Lycoris being with another man made him feel jealous although he knew he shouldn't feel that way.  Putting aside his feelings, he asked,

"Umm who are you talking about?  I can't imagine someone with whom Lycoris would fall in love."

Lisianthus pouted and replied,

"Aww I thought it would be obvious but I'll tell you. I was talking about Avi. Perfect choice, isn't he? He's someone who Lycoris likes and he cares about her very deeply. I know they have nothing but friendly feelings for each other at the moment but with the right circumstances, that can be changed, right?

They'll be very happy together and they can stay with us even! And Lycoris won't have to kill herself then. It's the wonderful choice, right?"

She sounded very excited about the idea of matching the two together, and she did care about Lycoris' well-being and hoped to change her mind about killing herself.

In his mind, Ryan did admit that Avi and Lycoris would make a wonderful pair but his heart felt otherwise.  In that moment, Ryan could only see himself with Lycoris, having a future with her and raising a family together.  He couldn't understand why his mind and heart conflicted with each other but he would need to figure it out at some point.

Knowing that Lisianthus was expecting a reply, he said,

"It does sound like a good match but it won't be easy.  I mean, Lycoris has pushed Avi away and I don't know if I'll be able to persuade her to spend more time with him again."

Lisianthus nodded in agreement and replied,

"Yeah, I know. Avi isn't a problem but the trick is convincing Lycoris to spend more time with him. But that shouldn't be too hard, right? If you and I worked on persuading her and pleading with her a bit, or having Avi join us more when we're all together, that could do it, right? Lycoris does care about Avi after all."

Ryan replied, "Well, maybe the latter idea might work.  If Avi just happened to be with us, Lycoris wouldn't have much of a choice but to spend time with him."

Although Ryan felt conflicted about this idea, he thought that perhaps it might be for the best.  Regardless of his feelings, Ryan did want Lycoris to stop thinking about killing herself and if she were with Avi, his confusion for her might disappear.

Lisianthus grinned happily and replied, "Then it's decided! Once you and Lycoris come back, we'll work this out together. They're going to make the perfect couple!

I just want you to try to bring him up often, ok, cutie? Don't say anything about this now but like, try to make her more interested in him? Talk about how he misses her and cares for her. It's all true, you know. Avi mentions her often to me."

Ryan could see that Lisianthus was very enthusiastic about the idea although he didn't share that same enthusiasm.  But as he didn't wish to disappoint her, he replied,

"I'll find a way to bring it up.  I have to be strategic in how to talk about it without being too pushy but I should be able to find a way."

Lisianthus nodded happily and replied,

"I trust you. Man, I am happy we finally have a plan. If things go well, we could very well be planning their wedding along ours soon! And Lycoris will have a reason to live for then and we'll live all together happily."

(Hmm, I wonder if Lycoris would really go for such an idea or if her heart has already fallen deeply for Ryan.  XD)

Ryan felt his heart ache at the thought although he admitted that he would rather see Lycoris with Avi than with Duke Collins any day.  He replied,

"I'll do anything so that Lycoris can find a reason to live.  I want her to live, to experience the world and appreciate all that it has to offer."

(Ahh I think she's already fallen for Ryan but in any case, she wouldn't think of Avi more than a friend. So yup, it's either pairing her with Ryan or watching her kill herself. XD)

Lisianthus grinned and replied, "Then it will all go well, cutie. Avi will take great care of Lycoris and make sure she's the happiest ever."

Meanwhile, Lycoris had finished changing into her nightgown, and opening the door a bit, she called out, "Ryan, I'm all done."

(Ahh I see.  Then we definitely have to get Lycoris and Ryan together.  XD)

Ryan heard Lycoris call out for him and replied, "I'll be right there, Lycoris."

He then turned back to the pendant and said,

"I'll have to go now, beautiful.  It's quite late and I think we all could use some sleep but I'll contact you tomorrow, ok?"

(Yup, I totally agree. XD)

Lisianthus nodded in understanding and replied, "Ok, cutie. I'll wait for you tomorrow. Good night and I love you."

Ryan replied, "I love you, too.  Good night, beautiful, and talk to you again tomorrow."

He then set aside the pendant and getting up, he approached Lycoris, who was waiting for him in the bathroom.  Giving an apologetic smile, he said,

"I'm sorry, Lycoris.  I was talking to Sia but we're all done now."

Lycoris smiled a little to Ryan and looking apologetic as well, she replied,

"Oh it's alright. I am sorry I interrupted your talk with Sia. It didn't occur to me that you'd be still talking to her. Umm you can contact her again if you want?"

Ryan shook his head and replied, 

"Nah, it's ok.  We were just about done talking anyway and I must admit that I'm feeling pretty sleepy.  So I'll brush your hair and then we can head off to bed."

He took the brush and after removing the hair accessories from Lycoris' hair, Ryan gently brushed Lycoris' hair.

Lycoris smiled softly to herself and stood in place as Ryan brushed her hair. The brush's strokes over her head soothed her especially as Ryan was the one gently doing it and made her feel even sleepier. She softly commented,

"I love it when you brush my hair, you know. There's a lot of care in such a simple gesture."

Ryan blushed as he heard Lycoris' comment and he shyly replied,

"I do love brushing your hair, my angel.  It's so soft and silky.  I am one lucky man indeed and you know, I would be quite jealous if anyone else were to have the honor of the task."

Lycoris smiled sweetly and replied, "Aww and I wouldn't want anyone else to touch my hair but you. I've gotten used to your gentle touch in this little while and I want you to brush my hair always. You wouldn't mind, would you?"

Ryan chuckled happily and replied, "Of course not.  I consider it quite the honor to brush your hair."

He finished brushing Lycoris' hair and after putting down the hairbrush, he asked,

"So what do you think?  I think you're quite beautiful and angelic."

Lycoris looked at herself in the mirror and she agreed that she looked quite well. But her eyes would always turn to gaze at the man standing behind her, and her heart would beat fast whenever she could see him. But quickly coming to herself, she smiled and replied,

"I look quite good thanks to you, Ryan, but I am quite happy to see you as well. This is so good. I get to see you twice a day now."
