Romance RP

Lycoris followed Ryan upstairs to the library and as they went together, she said,

"You can pick tonight's book, Ryan. I'm curious to see what kind of books you like and I chose last time's book so it's your turn, right?"

Ryan smiled and replied, "I suppose you do have a point there.  Ok, I'll choose."

The couple had arrived in the library, and Ryan took his time looking at the collection of fiction books on the shelves.  Finally, he chose a book and looking at it so Lycoris could see it, too, he said,

"How about this one?  It's an adventure and fantasy story combined."

The book was about a little boy who found a way into another world where there were all sorts of magical creatures like dragons and elves and such.

Lycoris looked quite interested in the book and nodding happily, she replied,

"I like this one. And it has names of some creatures I've never heard about. Dragons, elves . . . I wonder what those are. So yup, I am all for it."

Ryan smiled and replied, "Great.  Let's head back to my room and then we can start reading."

Taking the book, Ryan led the way out of the library and down the hall to Ryan's room.  Then he led the way to the sofa and after everyone was seated comfortably, Ryan began to read the story about a little boy who found a way to another world, a magical world where there were creatures he had never seen before back home.

(Think of the story as sort of being in Alice in Wonderland.  XD)

Lycoris listened eagerly as Ryan started reading, curious to know about all the creatures that the boy saw in the magical world. She imagined herself in his place, meeting all the new creatures.

(Ahh I'll be away for about 30 mins but I'll return as soon as I can. XD)

Ryan continued to read, and he noticed how interested Lycoris was in the story.  He read the part where the boy met a dragon for the first time and described the creature in detail.  Although it was big, had wings, and appeared to be scary, the dragon was actually a gentle creature who wished for a friend.

Lycoris continued listening with eagerness and great interest, especially as Ryan went into details about the dragon. She wished to see such a creature for real despite how scary it seemed to be, fascinated by everything described about him.

As Ryan continued to read, he would cast occasional glances at Lycoris and observed her fascination and interest with the story.  Pausing, he asked,

"What do you think so far?  It's quite interesting, isn't it?"

Lycoris nodded happily and replied, "Yes, it's really amazing. It's wonderful to hear about all those beautiful creatures. I wish I could see them for myself. But aww, why did you stop? I can't wait to hear more. Please continue, Ryan."

She gave a cute pleading look, quite eager to listen to the rest of the story.

Ryan chuckled and replied, "Aww, I'm sorry, my angel.  I'll continue then."

He resumed reading the story and the little boy soon met with a group of unicorns in a magically enchanted forest.  They were on the run from some ugly trolls who were hunting them.  The boy wished to protect the unicorns so he stood ready to defend them.

Lycoris was even more interested as Ryan told the story of the unicorns and the ugly trolls who wanted to hunt them, wanting to know how events will unfold and hoping that the unicorns would be ok. She could tell that the unicorns were the good creatures while the trolls were the bad ones and she hoped things would turn out ok for them.

Ryan continued to read, and as the boy stood ready to defend the unicorns, a group of elves suddenly came, attacking the trolls with swords and bows and arrows.  The trolls ran off scared, and then the elves approached the boy, thanking him for trying to help the unicorns.  Then they welcomed the boy into their group, taking him to their magnificent city that was beautiful with buildings of white and pillars that shined like the sun.  The boy looked around in wonder and fascination, amazed by all that he saw.

Lycoris looked happy and relieved as the elves came to the unicorns' rescue and defeated the bad trolls. She then continued listening with interest to the rest of the story, curious about the elves and all the other creatures.

Ryan continued to read and after the boy saw all of the city, the elves asked him how he arrived in this world.  The boy then explained the portal he found and that although he wanted to return home, he wanted to find a way to return anytime he wanted.  The elves then explained that if the boy could find a special dragon and become its master, then the boy would be granted his wish.  The boy was eager to find the dragon, and so the elves prepared him for his mission, giving him all the necessary items as well as the location of the dragon.

Lycoris continued listening, wondering if the boy would be able to master the dragon, and also wondering whether it was the same dragon that appeared in the beginning of the story. Her eyes were full of curiosity and wonder as she continued listening.

Ryan then read the part where the boy set off on a horse that the elves had given him for the journey.  After some time travelling, the boy finally found the cave of the dragon he had to defeat.  The dragon came out of the dragon, looking big, menacing, and frightening.  It was a different dragon from the one the boy met at the beginning of the story, and it looked much scarier.  Although the boy was scared, he readied himself to fight the dragon, hoping to defeat it so his wish could be granted.

Lycoris was worried as she listened to the part about the dragon being quite menacing and she hoped that the boy would be able to beat it in the end, so that he could return to his own world.

Ryan read the part where the boy and the dragon had their battle, and Ryan read it so that it would be as exciting as possible for Lycoris.  Although it was tough, the boy finally defeated the dragon and the dragon bowed down in defeat.  Through a form of telepathy, the dragon then said that the boy could be granted any wish that he desired and the boy told the dragon of his wish.  The dragon then replied that he would have the ability to travel between the worlds anytime he wished and granted the boy a special green pendant that would allow him to travel.  Finally, the boy thanked the dragon and used the pendant to return home, knowing that he could return to that magical world anytime he wanted.

After Ryan finished reading the book, he looked to Lycoris and asked,

"So what did you think, Lycoris?  Did you like the story?"

Lycoris looked quite pleased with the ending of the story and clapping in delight, she replied happily,

"That was wonderful. I really loved it. This is one of the best stories we've read so far. It was so exciting and I loved listening about the new creatures. Thanks for choosing such a great story, Ryan."

Ryan smiled softly at Lycoris and replied, "I'm happy that you liked it.  It's one of my favorites.  I love reading about magical creatures and having adventures and such.  It would be fun if we could do that.  We could go to another world where there are dragons and unicorns and we would have lots of adventures together."

Lycoris nodded happily and replied, "Wouldn't it have been wonderful? I would love to go to such a place, meet those beautiful creatures for the first time and have adventures, fighting off the bad ones. It would be a lot of fun."

She looked dreamy-eyed, imagining what it would have been like if she and Ryan could go on such a journey.

Ryan gazed happily at Lycoris and noticed her dreamy-eyed look.  He smiled softly to himself, as he imagined as well what it would be like for the two of them to go to another world and experience adventures for themselves.  He would be quite happy indeed, as he would be happy anywhere as long as he was with Lycoris.

Lycoris continued day dreaming for a little while but then snapping out of it, she happily said,

"That was a lot of fun, Ryan. Thanks a lot for reading the story to me. You're the best."

She reached out to give him a soft kiss on the cheek, expressing her gratitude.

Ryan blushed as Lycoris kissed him and he replied,

"You're welcome, my angel.  I'm happy you liked it.  I love reading to you and we should do this often.  Next time, you get to pick the book, ok?"

Lycoris nodded happily and replied, "Sure, I'd like that although you make the best choices."

She smiled happily then turned her attention to the puppies, petting them gently.
