Romance RP

(I'm about to head off to sleep but I wanted to make this post before I do so.  XD)

Ryan felt a little saddened that Lisianthus didn't seem to trust him enough to tell him of her idea but as he didn't wish for an argument, either, he simply nodded and replied,

"Ok...It's just-please promise me that if you do take any action, you'd let me know first?  I know I need to focus on Lycoris right now but I will always worry about you because I love you."

(Ok, now I'll get off for the night so I'll make another post tomorrow.  Nite, nite, Love.  ^^)

Although Lisianthus wasn't sure how she'd be able to keep that promise, as she had made her mind not to tell Ryan, or even Irene, about similar execution orders at all, not before they were done anyways. But knowing that not making the promise would rise suspicions, she smiled and nodding, she replied,

"Of course, cutie. I promise. I love you too, you know."

She winked at him playfully, hoping to drift the subject away, for it was difficult to be lying to Ryan like this.

Ryan smiled at Lisianthus and although he wanted to trust her completely, there was a troubling doubt in the back of his mind.  However, he thought it best to drop the topic so he asked,

"Ahh is Duchess Irene coming by this evening?"

Lisianthus shrugged and replied,

"I have no idea but she might try to. She's concerned about you and Lycoris and all. Ahh aren't you going to tell her about you and Lycoris leaving to the humans' world?"

(I got your reply.  Thanks for understanding.  ^^  I'm still working on the old file I mentioned but I think I can get it done tonight so it will only be that new file that's left.  XD)

Ryan nodded and replied, "Yes, I'm going to tell her.  I'd like to inform Lady Penelope as well so she won't suddenly wonder why Lycoris and I aren't here.  I'm sure Duchess Irene can explain the situation.

And then I'd also like to talk to her about the magical wards I want to set up before we leave."

(No problem and good luck with finishing your work. ^^)

Lisianthus nodded in understanding and replied, "Sure. Lady Penelope said that she was doing to drop by soon but I can send for her if you want her to come sooner."

As they talked, one of the soldiers approached Lisianthus and after bowing respectfully, he whispered something into Lisianthus' ears, which made her look alarmed. But keeping her calm so she wouldn't worry Ryan, she nodded to the soldier then getting up, she said,

"Ahh Ryan, there's something that I should take care of but I'll be back as soon as I can, ok? You should stay here."

Ryan noticed the brief look of alarm on Lisianthus' face and replied,

"What is it, beautiful?  I won't leave Lycoris but can you tell me what's going on?"

He hoped that what the soldier told Lisianthus had nothing to do with the chancellor.

(No problem. ^^)

Lisianthus replied, "I'll tell you when I come back. I have to go quickly."

She got up and followed the soldier to outside without saying anything more. In truth, there were tens of people outside the castle walls, angry and furious over how Lisianthus had executed fifty soldiers like that. They were mostly their families but there were others who sympathized with them and were angry at the queen as well.

(O_O  Man, that scene reminds me of a certain scene from The Royal Trap.  XD)

Ryan wondered what had happened but as he didn't wish to leave Lycoris' side, he stayed by her side.  He gently stroked her hair and her cheeks and then he wrapped his arms around her, hoping that she would feel safe and comforted by his presence.

(lol Yeah, I understand which one you mean. XD But hopefully the people won't break into the castle like what happened in the game. XD)

As Ryan stayed by Lycoris' side, a couple of soldiers entered accompanying Lady Penelope, who had managed to enter through the crowds almost miraculously. She had chosen a very bad timing to visit indeed.

After the two soldiers had left, she curtseyed politely to Ryan and said,

"Good afternoon, Sir Ryan. I hope that I don't disturb when I visit but I wanted to drop by and check you and Lady Lycoris."

(Same here.  XD)

Ryan sat up on the bed and smiling at Lady Penelope, he replied,

"It's a nice surprise to see you.  I'm afraid Lycoris is asleep at the moment.  She had her surgery this morning and it took a lot out of her so she's resting now."

Lady Penelope nodded in understanding and returning Ryan's smile, she replied,

"I understand. I hope her surgery had gone alright. It's a such a relief to find out that she could recover."

She took a seat by Lycoris' bedside.

Ryan nodded and remembering what he had told Lisianthus, he looked to Lady Penelope and said,

"Ahh since you're here, there's something I need to tell you.  Because of what happened to Lycoris, the head healer has advised that she not use magic for a month so she can fully recover, especially emotionally.  I'm afraid we'll have to stop our lessons for the time being.  I am sorry about this."

Lady Penelope looked surprised as she heard the news from Ryan and asked, "Is that so?"

She took a few moments to progress everything in her mind but nodding in understanding, she replied,

"I understand. Lady Lycoris' health and well-being comes before anything, naturally. I hope she can recover as quickly as possible and then we can continue our lessons as usual."

(I just thought of something.  It's too bad that Lisianthus doesn't know destructive magic.  If she did, she could do what Elodie did in LLTQ and blast the commoners with magic.  XD)

Ryan nodded and replied, "Same here and I know that Lycoris wants that as well.  She needs to be in top shape to continue her lessons."

Thinking of a slight change of topic, he then asked, "Has anything interesting happened since our last visit?"

(lol Man, but that wouldn't be helpful at all. XD Maybe she could ask Ryan to do that but the question is would he agree? XD)

Lady Penelope shook her head and replied, "Nothing that I can tell, and unfortunately I haven't found anything about the shapeshifter yet or how to detect her."

She paused then said, "The interesting is what you have here, though. I had to go through a lot of difficulty to enter the castle. The queen sure has her hands full outside."

She assumed that Ryan had an idea of the people revolting outside the castle walls.

(lol  Ryan says he wouldn't.  He would try to talk to them first and calm them down if he can.  XD)

Ryan looked curiously at Lady Penelope, wondering if this had anything to do with what the soldier told Lisianthus earlier.  He replied,

"I don't understand.  Why did you have difficulty entering the castle?"

(lol I see. XD Hmm Lisianthus isn't so kind though. She says that she won't hesitate to kill those who try to break in. XD)

Lady Penelope looked surprised as Ryan seemed clueless but she replied,

"You don't know? A fair number of people is almost revolting outside. They're nearly turning violent but the queen and her soldiers are holding them off. I believe they're angry over the fifty soldiers Her Majesty executed a couple of days ago."

(lol  I see.  Ryan says that he could use his mind control power on them as an alternative to killing them but that would drain a lot of his power.  XD)

Ryan sighed sadly and replied, "I see.  I should have anticipated that this might happen.  Lycoris, Duchess Irene, and I advised Sia not to kill those soldiers.  I really didn't want her to take such an action but she wouldn't listen.  I can understand that Sia didn't want the captain to get to them but killing them wasn't the solution."

(Ahh in case you're curious as to why I'm posting a bit more at the moment, I finished the old file and sent it in so I'm taking a bit of a break before tackling the final file.  XD)

(Ahh I see. I'm here as well for a while while I am eating. XD And Lisianthus says that she prefers killing them so that they are set as an example for others. XD)

Lady Penelope nodded in understanding and replied,

"Executing them all at once was definitely a big mistake. But well, that's the queen. I don't mean to talk of her disrespectfully but I was hoping she could change at some point. That's not apparently the case."

(O_O  Lisianthus sure is scary.  XD)

Ryan nodded and replied, "I thought she was beginning to change.  When I was here before the chancellor temporarily took control, Sia and I talked about some things and how we could make her rule better and fairer.  But it just seems that after all the craziness that's happened and continues to happen, she takes the violent route."

He paused and then added, "If I was still my former self, I might have agreed with her but I'm more fearful now for Sia's life.  She needs to understand that making her people happy is as important as providing security and order."

(lol She says she's happy with that. XD)

Lady Penelope looked a little confused as Ryan mentioned being 'his former self,' and unable to contain her curiosity, she asked,

"Former self? Pardon me if I'm being nosy, Sir Ryan. I certainly don't mean to but I am curious to what you mean by that."

(O_O)

Ryan replied, "Well, I used to be quite the bad person.  I was filled with anger, hate, and vengeance.  It had to do with my brother.  It's a long story but I was basically angry at him because our parents preferred him over me.  They abandoned me in an orphanage while they raised him as their only son.

I would have still been like that, had it not been for Rosaline.  She made me see that what I was doing was wrong and she helped repair the rift between me and Bryan.  I am forever grateful to her for that."

(Yeah, I know. XD)

Lady Penelope listened with much interest, quite the interest indeed, as Ryan told her about how he used to be. Nodding in understanding, she replied,

"I see. It's quite the surprise to hear this about you, Sir Ryan, as you appear to be nothing but a gentle, good, brave young man. It's good to see that the change is genuine."

Lycoris stirred a little and moaned in her sleep, muttering some words as she seemed to have some sort of an unpleasant dream.

Ryan was about to reply to Lady Penelope when he noticed that Lycoris seemed disturbed.  He wondered if her dreams were being disturbed somehow but deciding not to take the risk, he wrapped his arms around her and cast the spell to protect her mind from nightmares.  Once it was in place, he turned his attention back to Lady Penelope and said,

"I'm sorry about that.  I don't want Lycoris to have any nightmares so I just used a spell to protect her mind from them."
