Ryan replied,

Yes, I am.  You wished to know how things went after Lycoris and I talked to Sia.


He then went on to explain the details of the meeting, how things didn't go as he had hoped but that somehow they had reached a sort of compromise.

(Back now. XD)

Irene listened carefully to what Ryan had to tell her and was almost surprised. She replied, with a tone of disappointment,

Is this really the best you could reach with her? I am a little surprised at her. I almost felt sure that she would listen to you.

(Welcome back.  XD)

Ryan sighed sadly and replied,

I tried my best.  Really I did.  Lycoris and I both tried reasoning with her but she was so firm on the matter.  It was a miracle that we even reached some sort of compromise at all.  And you know how she is.


(I don't know if Irene expected Ryan to work some sort of miracle but that wasn't going to happen.  O_O)

(Thanks. ^^ And ahh it's not like Irene is blaming Ryan or anything. XD She just expected Lisianthus to be more relent when Ryan would talk to her, give some consideration to his opinion more than anyone because she loved him so much, but it didn't happen so she was surprised. XD)

Irene sighed and replied,

I trust you did your best, Ryan. I just thought Lisianthus would behave differently when you talk to her but I suppose I was expecting too much. I thought she was really willing to change but I guess not. I just hope she can keep her word with you at least.

(Ahh I see.  XD)

Ryan replied,

I hope so, too.  Will you be there this afternoon with Sia questions those soldiers?  I think you can try persuading them to give her the information she wants about the captain.  Exile would certainly be a better option than execution.

Irene replied,

Yeah, I will be. I'll do my best to make sure everything is under control. I wish you would come, too. Your presence might help make a difference.

Ryan thought about it and replied,

Ok, I'll be there as well.  I'll have to bring Lycoris along, though, since I don't want to leave her unprotected.  Perhaps her presence might influence Sia as well?


(Getting sleepy here so I'll get off for the night now and get some sleep.  I'll check back tomorrow and post again.  Nite, nite, Love.  ^^)

Irene replied,

I suppose it could. Perhaps Lisianthus could think about the matter again when you and Lycoris would be there to see it.

Good then. I really appreciate this, Ryan. I'll come pick you and Lycoris up after lunch and we can head to the dungeons all together. Lisianthus will be surprised to see you two, at least. You'll be in Lycoris' room, correct?

Ryan replied,

Yes, that's correct.  Lycoris and I will have lunch in her room so we'll be waiting for you then.  I'll tell Lycoris what's going on so we can be prepared for this afternoon.

Irene replied,

Then it's agreed. I'll see you after lunch then.

Ryan replied,

We'll see you then.


He then shut off the telepathy and facing Lycoris, he said,

"I finished talking to Duchess Irene."

He then briefly described the conversation, including the part where Duchess Irene wished for Ryan and Lycoris to be present this afternoon when Lisianthus would question the soldiers.

Lycoris listened to Ryan as he told her of his conversation with Duchess Irene and although she felt a little scared of what could happen when Lisianthus would question the soldiers, she nodded and replied,

"Alright, we can go. I really hope the soldiers can just tell Sia what she wants so she would spare them. That would be better for everyone."

Ryan replied, "I hope so, too.  And Duchess Irene thinks that our presence may persuade Sia not to be so harsh on the soldiers.  I sure hope so.  I do think it's better that Sia thinks through her actions since I know people tend to have multiple reasons for the actions they make.

But Lycoris, if you don't feel comfortable going, you can tell me."

Although Lycoris did feel scared about going, she decided to put her fears aside and shaking her head firmly, she replied,

"No, I'm alright. If our presence could save a life, we definitely have to go."

Ryan nodded and replied, "Ok then.  Hopefully, our presence will be enough to make Sia be merciful on those soldiers and I'll protect you always."

Deciding to change the subject, he then said, "Now we have your lesson to get through, right?"

Lycoris nodded and replied, "Yup. I'm ready whenever you are."

She placed the puppies gently on the bench and waited for Ryan to lead her to the middle of the room.

Ryan got up and after helping Lycoris to her feet, he escorted her to the middle of the training room.  Then he turned to her and said,

"Ok, let's go ahead and review what we learned the other day."

(Ahh should I do a summary of what Ryan teaches Lycoris or just describe the spells like I usually do?)

(Ahh you can do a summary if you like but I'm fine either way. XD ^^)

Lycoris nodded and then began casting the spells she had learned the other day, casting one after the other swiftly and without making mistakes.

(Ok.  XD)

Ryan observed closely as Lycoris cast spell after spell, successfully mastering one after the other.  Nodding in approval, he commented,

"That was excellent.  As I said, you do learn quickly.  Most students wouldn't be able to master such spells as quickly as you do."

Lycoris smiled happily and replied,

"Thanks, Ryan. I am glad to be impressing you so. I want to master all the spells as soon and as skillfully as I can."

Ryan nodded happily and replied, "Yup, I can sure see that.  You know, I think you may be ready to learn some advanced offensive dark spells.  They require more energy and focus but if they're cast successfully, they can take down multiple enemies at once.  What do you think?"

Lycoris looked curious and nodding, she replied,

"Of course I'd like that. This can be quite helpful if I am fighting more than one enemy. I'd like to learn it please, Ryan."

Ryan nodded and replied, "All right.  Then let's start with the first advanced dark spell.  It's called a dark tidal wave attack."

He then explained the spell, detailing its effects and how it could take down multiple enemies in one wave although it required quite a bit of energy and focus.  After he was done with the explanation, he demonstrated the spell.

Lycoris listened carefully to Ryan as he explained the spell and its effects, making sure to make mental notes to herself. After he was done explaining and demonstration, she nodded and said,

"Ok, I think I might be able to try that. Umm could you summon the dummies and I'll try to cast the spell on them?"

Ryan replied, "Sure, I'll do that."

He then summoned multiple dummies at the same time and they stood still near one wall.  After he was done, he turned to Lycoris and said,

"Ok, the dummies are in place.  Whenever you're ready and I'll make comments afterwards."
