Romance RP

Ryan nodded and replied, "Yeah, I sure hope so.  It'd be great to have another type of magic I can cast spells.  It would be quite useful."

He continued to chat with Lycoris and pet the puppies for a bit until their break time was over.

Feeling that they spent enough time resting, Lycoris said,

"So are you ready to continue? We only have a couple of spells left."

Ryan nodded and replied, "Yup, I sure am.  We should spend the remainder of the afternoon as best we can and then we can stop for today."

He got up and helped Lycoris to her feet.  Then he led her to the middle of the training room and once the two of them were there, Ryan waited for Lycoris to teach him the next spell.

Lycoris followed Ryan to the middle of the room and once both of them were ready, she recalled the next spell. Then taking a breath, she said,

"Ok, the next spell is a light blinding spell. If you cast it correctly, you can actually blind your enemy for about a minute or two and that can be very useful in battles, right?"

She explained the spell quite accurately, making sure to leave nothing out. Then using the dummy spell Ryan had taught her before, she summoned an enemy dummy and then cast the spell to demonstrate it.

Ryan listened and took mental notes as Lycoris explained the light blinding spell.  Then he watched as she demonstrated it before him.  Smiling, he replied,

"Ahh I see.  That spell can be very useful.  I'll give it a try."

First, he summoned a dummy in front of him.  Then remembering Lycoris' explanation, Ryan successfully cast the light blind spell at the dummy.  Nodding in satisfaction, he said,

"That went well."

Lycoris smiled and replied,

"You're really wonderful, Ryan. You learn things really quickly. I suppose that leaves us one spell more to go."

Ryan grinned and replied, "Thanks.  And yup, we have one more spell to learn although I'm not sure if I'll learn it as quickly.  I might be getting lucky today learning these spells as quickly as I am."

Lycoris replied, "Just keep it up and I know you'll learn it as fast. This spell is a little more difficult but really handy: it's an illusion spell. You can create a light illusion of anything as long as you focus enough. How many and how long you keep it up depends on how much energy you put into the spell."

She explained the spell as usual, making sure to be as detailed as possible. Once that was done, she focused her powers and cast the spell successfully, creating an illusion of herself.

Ryan took notes as Lycoris explained the illusion spell and then he watched as she demonstrated it before him.  Clapping in delight, he commented,

"That was wonderful."

He then gave it a try but as Lycoris pointed out, it was difficult to cast the spell and although he did his best to maintain his focus, the spell was proving more difficult than he anticipated.

Lycoris could guess that Ryan was having a little more difficulty with the spell so she said,

"Just relax, Ryan. Don't think about how difficult the spell is. Just concentrate in casting it successfully. Come on, I know you can do it."

Ryan nodded and after taking a deep breath, he attempted the illusion spell again.  After a couple of tries, he was able to cast an illusion of himself although it only lasted for a few seconds.  Feeling relieved, he said,

"I did it although I couldn't keep up the spell."

Lycoris smiled and replied,

"It's ok. That's fine at the beginning, you know. The more you cast it, the stronger you'll be at it, right? Do you want to give it one last go? I am sure you'll do better this time."

Ryan replied, "Sure, I'll give it one more go."

He then took a deep breath and after letting it out, he cast the illusion spell and this time, he was able to keep it up for a little longer before the spell wore off.  He then said,

"I was able to keep up the spell for a little longer this time."

Lycoris clapped happily and replied,

"See, that's what I am talking about. The more you practice, the better you'll become, right? I learned that from you."

Seeing how they were done with their lesson, as she had told Ryan of all the spells she knew, she said,

"Well, I suppose that's it for the day. You were really amazing, Ryan. I hope I can become as good as you one day."

Ryan blushed and replied, "Aww, thanks, Lycoris, but I think you're still better than me at light magic.  It might just be that I've practiced magic longer that I'm picking up on these spells and, of course, I have a wonderful teacher before me."

Lycoris blushed slightly and replied,

"That's kind of you to say but I really did nothing. I just told you everything Lady Penelope told and taught me. Now from now on, we'll practice and learn light magic together, ok? And we can encourage each other this way."

Ryan nodded happily and replied, "Sure, that would be great.  I'll let Lady Penelope know when she comes over for your next lesson and assuming that she won't mind teaching the both of us, we can learn together."

He hugged Lycoris happily and added, "Thank you for teaching me today."

Lycoris returned the hug softly and replied,

"No need to thank me. Now we're alike in the light magic so we can start from next lesson equally and it will be a fair competition."

After the hug was broken, she said, "I kept you a lot today but thanks for everything, Ryan."

Ryan smiled and replied, "Thanks for offering to teach me.  It was a lot of hard work but fun, too.  I hope this was fun for you as well.  You'd make a great teacher, you know."

Lycoris smiled and replied,

"Thanks, Ryan, but I hope it's ok if I just stick to being your student. I was only a good teacher today because you were a wonderful student. You learned really quickly and put a lot of effort in learning."

Ryan replied, "Thanks, Lycoris.  I wanted to do my best for you and I'm amazed at how quickly I was able to learn.  I know our future lessons will be difficult but I'm going to do my best just for you."

Lycoris blushed slightly and replied,

"Aww thank you, Ryan. And I'll do my best to encourage you always. I'll be always by your side, just like you are right now. I won't leave you until you're the great master of the light magic. I look forward to that day."

She smiled a little at the thought, for she truly wanted Ryan to be that powerful.

Ryan chuckled a bit and replied, "I'd like that but I think it'll take me quite a while before that happens and I'm sure you'll be a powerful sorceress very quickly.  Lady Penelope and I will make sure that you become a great and powerful magic wielder."

Lycoris replied,

"And I'll do my best at my lessons as well to make you sure you two are proud of me. Thanks again, Ryan, for everything. I know I say it a lot but it's never enough, really."

Ryan smiled softly at Lycoris and replied, "I'm happy to help out as much as I can, you know.  It's an honor for me to be teaching and helping you, really."

The puppies barked and chuckling, Ryan added, "I think our boys want our attention.  Let's go to them."

Gently holding on to Lycoris' arm, Ryan led the way back to the bench where the puppies waited for them.
