Romance RP

Lycoris nodded and replied, "Yup, that sounds fine."

She took a moment to recall the spell next then remembering, she replied,

"Ok, the next one is a light energy blast. It's a little more difficult but it's similar to the light energy flash spell, but it requires a little more energy."

She explained the spell accurately, and once she was done, she demonstrated it, creating a small light blast in the corner of the room.

Ryan clapped happily as he observed Lycoris successfully cast a light energy blast.  He nodded and replied,

"So I need to use more energy.  Is there anything else I should know before trying out this spell?"

Lycoris looked thoughtful then replied,

"Not really. Just be careful while casting it because if you don't concentrate enough, you might not control the blast's size and that might make things go wrong, you know? It's just like how the dark energy blast spell goes."

Ryan nodded and replied, "Ok, I understand.  I'll give it a try now."

He closed his eyes and concentrated on the spell, aiming towards a different corner of the room.  Focusing his mind, he stretched out his hands and doing his best, he created a small light energy blast towards the corner of the room.  Smiling, he said,

"It was a small blast but I think it was ok for a first try."

Lycoris smiled and replied,

"It's great for a first try. I couldn't even cast it at first try. How about you go for another one? Try to make it a little bigger this time."

Ryan nodded and closing his eyes, he focused his mind on creating another light energy blast, this time making it bigger than before.  He pushed himself to do so and although it took a couple of tries, he was finally able to cast a bigger light energy blast.  He looked to Lycoris and asked,

"How was that?"

Although Lycoris couldn't see how big the blast was, she trusted that Ryan did it better this time so she said,

"Great job, Ryan. A little more practice and you'll be able to cast it as big as you wish."

Ryan smiled softly and replied, "Thanks, Lycoris."

Feeling a little tired, he asked, "Would it be ok if we take a short break now?  I'm sure you can use it, too."

Lycoris nodded and replied, "Yup, sure. A break would be good."

She waited for Ryan to lead the way to the bench where they could sit and rest.

Gently, Ryan held Lycoris' arm and led her towards the bench.  Then the two of them sat down comfortably and immediately, the puppies jumped into Lycoris' lap, making themselves comfortable.  Ryan chuckled and commented,

"They sure do love you."

Lycoris smiled softly as the puppies jumped into her lap and petting them gently, she replied,

"I love them, too. Their company is something I truly enjoy. I am glad they like me as well."

(We had guests over early in the morning for the most part so I can stay on here now until I turn in for the night.  Tomorrow may be different, though, since it'll be the actual holiday.  XD)

Ryan smiled and replied, "I'm not surprised that they do.  They can sense a really good, kind person and you're definitely one.  I can see that you would be good with animals."

The puppies barked happily at Ryan's comment.

(Ahh I see. XD It's good to have you here now. ^^)

Lycoris blushed slightly and continued to pet the puppies ever so gently. She replied,

"I'm honored they think so of me. They're wonderful puppies as well. They're really well-behaved and quite playful. They can bring joy to anyone."

(Thanks.  ^^  I'm doing some proofreading work as well but yeah, I'll be here until I turn in.  XD)

The puppies looked up happily and kissed her cheeks in reply.  Ryan commented,

"Our boys agree with you there, Lycoris.  And you're a wonderful teacher.  You know, I don't think I could have learned light magic as quickly if I had another teacher."

(I understand. ^^)

Lycoris smiled softly and replied,

"But I did nothing, Ryan. It was really your work and effort there. You just keep it up and I am sure you'll learn light magic in no time."

(Thanks.  ^^)

Ryan shook his head and replied, "But that's not true.  Without your instruction, I doubt I could have learned any light magic spells.  I'm happy you encouraged me to do this."

He smiled softly at Lycoris and the puppies looked up happily at her.

Lycoris continued to smile and replied,

"Well, if you say so but then, it's nothing compared to what you do for me, you know. You go through a lot of trouble and put a lot of effort with me so I can learn dark magic and light magic, too. It's something I owe you forever."

Ryan replied, "You're my friend so I'll do everything in my power to help you.  It's never any trouble for me to do and if you ever need any help, don't be afraid to ask me, ok?  I'll always be here for you."

He reached out to gently touch Lycoris' hands.

Lycoris nodded and replied,

"I really appreciate everything that you've done and been doing for me, Ryan. I hope I can be a good friend in return and encourage you all the way till you fully master light magic."

Ryan replied, "You already are a very good friend to me.  I think I mentioned this before but I don't have many friends so I value our friendship all the more.  I hope that we can always be like this."

Also, he wanted to say that he couldn't imagine a life without her in it but then that would have only reminded Lycoris of her plan to eliminate herself after the captain's defeat.

Lycoris smiled softly and replied,

"We'll be always like this. I value our friendship more than you can imagine. You could say that right now, you're the only friend I have so I treasure you more than anything."

It saddened Ryan a bit to hear Lycoris say that he was her only friend, as Lycoris could easily make more friends if she was willing to open herself up.  But he knew her reasons that she wouldn't and he didn't want to push her.

Instead, he decided to change the subject a bit and asked, "So how is it like for you teaching me?  Have I been a good student so far?"

Lycoris nodded happily and replied,

"That doesn't need a question. You're wonderful so far. I can't believe you don't have a natural aptitude for light magic. You learned things quite quickly, you know. I trusted that you're strong enough to do it."

Ryan scratched the back of his head and replied, "Thanks but I'm only learning as quickly as I can because of you.  You're a great teacher.  

And yeah, when I was tested to see what natural abilities I have, light magic wasn't one of them so I guess it is possible to learn other types of magic.  It just requires more focus and such."

Lycoris nodded in understanding and replied,

"I am sure if things are a little difficult now, they will get a lot easier later. It's just that everything is hard at the beginning, right? But with more practice, you'll be able to cast light magic as fluently as you cast dark one."
