After a while, Bryan broke off the kiss and looked lovingly into Rosaline's eyes.

"You are so beautiful and I only hope that I'm a worthy husband for my love."

In the meanwhile, Greg whispered to Patriaclos, "I wonder when Rosalind and Andra will return."

Patriaclos simply shrugged.

Queen Clarisse replied, "I'm happy to hear that you are enjoying living in Devenshire. And you're welcome to come to court anytime. The king and I love having visitors."

A butler came to the queen's table and whispered something to the queen. The queen nodded and after the butler left, she said,

"Ahh we should head on back inside to the throne room. The men have returned."

Rosaline smiled and replied, "Don't worry, you are certainly are."

Soon enough, Rosalind and Andra returned to the living room.

Rosalind said, "Lunch is all ready. We have wrapped it up and put it in baskets as well."

Greg replied, "Ahh good. So let's going then. It's a beautiful day outside and we have a lot of celebrating to do."

He got up and went to Rosalind's side to help her carry the basket while Patriaclos went to Andra to offer his help. Bryan helped Rosaline to her feet so that they could prepare to go out as well.

Queen Clarisse stood up and announced, "Follow me, ladies." She then took the lead in entering the castle.

Eleanor got up and offered Nerine her help. "Hey Nerine. Let's go inside together, ok?"

Rosalind said, "So what park shall we go to? There are two parks in Lessire, the Park of Lovers and the South Park. Which one would you like to go to?"

Nerine nodded and stood up and replied, "I shall be pleased to, Mum."

She followed Eleanor and the queen to inside the castle.

Greg replied, "Let's see. We've been to the Park of Lovers. I'd be curious to see the South Park since I haven't been there yet."

Patriaclos added, "Either park is fine with me as long as Andra is by my side." He looked adoringly at his wife.

Bryan replied, "Hmm I have no preference. How about you, my love?" He looked over at Rosaline for her opinion.

Queen Clarisse led the ladies inside the castle and to the throne room. Once inside, the queen sat in her chair. The king was already seated and the other nobles and lords were standing. Eleanor found Edward who was standing next to Alex chatting quietly.

Eleanor asked, "Hey dear. How was fishing?"

Edward replied, "It was fun, dear. The king and I had a nice chat and Alex sure caught a lot of fish."

Rosaline replied, "For me, the park of lovers has been always my favorite."

Nerine approached Alex and said politely, "Hello, my lord. It's nice to see you again."

Patriaclos replied, "Hmm it looks like we're split on where to go. What shall we do?"

Alex approached Nerine and gently hugged her. "Welcome back, my darling? Did you have fun with Mom and the queen?"

Rosalind replied, "Oh I don't know. Bryan, do you have any preference?"

Nerine replied, "Yup. The queen is very kind and nice to me."

Bryan shook his head and replied, "Not really. If my love wants to go the Park of Lovers, that's where I want to go, too. It would be wonderful to spend some more romantic time with my Rosaline. I never want to let her go."

Alex smiled and replied, "I'm glad, my darling. The king and queen are such kind, wonderful rulers and are wonderful friends with Mom and Dad."

Speaking of the royal couple, the king and queen were chatting between themselves, nodding and confirming. They looked about ready to make an important announcement and would do so once everyone settled down.

Rosalind replied, "Well, I suppose we can go to the park of lovers although I would have chosen the South Park. Is everyone ok with that?"

(I am curious to the announcement now. lol)

(lol I'll make it soon-hopefully today.)

Patriaclos nodded as did Bryan. Greg replied,

"Ahh it's ok with me as well although I would have been curious to see the South Park. Perhaps next time, though."

The king and queen stood up and the king announced, "Would everyone please be so kind as to direct your attention to us? We have a very important announcement to make."

Edward and Eleanor turned their attention to the royal pair as did Alex, wondering what this announcement would be.

Rosalind replied, "Awww I'll take you to it soon, my love. Don't worry. The South Park was always one of my favorites so I am sure you will like it, too."

Nerine as well turned her attention to the royal family.

Greg replied, "I hope we can go soon. And when we do, it can be just the two of us."

Patriaclos said, "So let's get going, everyone."

He helped Andra to her feet.

Once everyone's eyes were on the king, the king continued,

"As most of you know, Queen Clarisse and I do not have a son or daughter to inherit the throne when we pass on. And as neither of us have any living relatives who could take over, we have had to consider how to pass on our crowns. After much deliberation and consultation, we have come to a decision. We would be honored if Sir Alex and Lady Nerine would agree to become king and queen of Devenshire after we pass on."

The king and queen looked on at Alex and Nerine to see what they thought of the idea. Alex looked quite surprised as did Edward and Eleanor.

(Now I wonder how Nerine will react. lol)

Rosalind said, "Please follow me, everyone."

She lead the way to outside the house, heading to the park.

Nerine was quite surprised as well, or even in a shock. She hadn't expected that kind of news at all. She was only a new comer to Devenshire and now...she was wanted to be a queen?

Greg walked by Rosalind's side outside. Patriaclos helped Andra to her feet and followed Rosalind and Greg. Bryan then helped Rosaline and held her hand, following everyone else to the park.

Alex looked over to see Nerine's reaction and he wasn't surprised. This news came out of nowhere and in the back of his mind, he was worried. He remembered what Lycoris had told him of Nerine's power and making her queen might attract the attention of the gods. So Alex did what he thought best and replied,

"Thank you, your majesty. We are honored that you have thought of us to rule. We need some time to think about it if that is all right, of course."

The king nodded and replied, "Of course, Alex. Clarisse and I realize that this is such a huge step but we would like an answer soon."

Alex replied, "I understand, your majesty."

The king then continued, "So that is it, everyone. You're all free to go home or stay in the castle as you please."

Alex turned to Nerine and asked, "Darling, are you ok?"

As soon as everyone was out of the house, Rosalind made sure that the house was locked and all. She then began leading the way to the park.

Nerine soon snapped out of her shock and replied, "Y-Yes, my lord, I am fine. It's just that these news...came out of nowhere, that's all."

Greg walked by Rosalind's side as his wife took the lead in going to the park. Patriaclos followed behind with Andra by his side, and Bryan did the same for Rosaline.

Alex nodded and replied, "I must admit that I am quite shocked as well. What do you want to do? We definitely need to think this over and talk about it but we could stay in the castle a little while longer and talk to the king and queen about this or we could go home and talk privately."

(Ok, I'm going to get off for a little bit. I should either be back just before dinner or definitely after. ^^)

Rosalind continued taking the lead to the park and soon enough, they all arrived at the park. It was the same beautiful park that Rosaline and Bryan went to, with all the lovers doing their romantic things between all the beauties of nature.

Nerine replied, "W-Whatever you would like, my lord. I'll have no objection with either."

She was having a bit of the sudden headache, perhaps over the shock of the news.

Greg looked around at the park and saw that it was busy but yet beautiful as always. "Let's go find a spot for the picnic, shall we?"

Patriaclos nodded, escorting Andra happily. Bryan looked lovingly at Rosalind and said,

"My love, I remember this place. We had so much fun here, didn't we?"

Alex looked alarmed, as Nerine suddenly didn't look well. Eleanor glanced over at the couple and noticed Nerine's condition and rushed over to her with Edward following behind.

Eleanor looked at Nerine and asked, "Oh dear. You don't look well, Nerine. We can go home now. You can rest better there and we aren't needed here now."

Rosaline replied, "Yup, I do, my love."

Rosalind pointed to a shady spot under a tree and said, "Look there, everybody. That spot looks suitable for a family picnic."

Nerine felt a bit guilty that she made everyone worry. She shook her head, doing her best to smile and replied,

"It's alright, I am fine. I- I just got a small headache all of a sudden, that's all."

Greg looked over at where Rosalind pointed and replied, "Yup, that spot looks perfect. I'll help you set up, honey."

Patriaclos looked on at Andra and asked, "Would you like me to help as well, dear?"

Even though Nerine assured everyone that she was all right, Eleanor continued to be worried about her.

"Oh my. I say let's go home, ok? It'll just be us and we can chat some more."

Alex replied, "I think that sounds good as well."

Edward nodded and replied, "All right then. Why don't you three head on outside to the carriage and I'll go bid goodbye to the king and queen?"

Alex replied, "All right, Dad." He then turned his attention to Nerine and said, "Let's go outside. The fresh air will be good and I'd like to be home."

Andra replied, "Please don't be troubled, my love. I'll take care of everything here."

She and Rosalind began to set up the picnic.

Nerine nodded and replied, "I will be pleased to, too, my love."

As Rosalind and Andra were setting up the picnic, Bryan turned to Rosaline and asked,

"My love, I have an idea. Why don't we go to the swings and I'll push you high into the air like we did the other day?"

Alex smiled and gently held Nerine's arm, walking her out of the throne room and soon outside with Eleanor following closely behind. Once outside, Alex spotted the carriage, all ready for the party to leave. The driver spotted the party and opened the carriage door for them, helping Nerine and then Eleanor inside.

Rosaline replied, "Really, my love? I would love that. I enjoyed that quite a lot the last time and I would like for it to repeat."

Bryan replied, "Ok then." Turning to Greg and Patriaclos, Bryan said, "My Rosaline and I will be on the swings for a while."

Patriaclos nodded, "Ok but be back in time to eat."

Bryan nodded and then led Rosaline to the swings.

Alex waited outside for Edward and soon Edward came out of the castle. Then they both entered the carriage and the driver closed the door and afterwards ordered the horses to start going towards Alex's and Nerine's place.

Inside the carriage, Alex sat by Nerine's side and said, "Rest now, my darling. It's been quite a day, hasn't it?"
