Anjela smiled back at Matthew and replied, "Yeah, me too. It would have been a trouble if you were that kind of frail, helpless healer who couldn't hold out on his own but heh, you aren't like that at all."

Lycoris nodded happily and replied, "Yes, I love it. It was very delicious. Looks like we have plenty of things to get. Shopping is really fun, Alex."

Matthew chuckled and replied, "Hey, if I were that kind of person, I wouldn't have offered to accompany you on this in the first place.  I am stronger than I look."

Alex nodded and replied, "Yup, it is and this is something that couples do, too."

The two of them walked around the store, getting the items they wanted and putting them in the shopping cart.

Anjela nodded and smiling a bit, she said, "I could see that. Well, I only allowed you to come along because I am sure you really want to help Lycoris too. I definitely wouldn't have let you accompany me if this was my mom's request, asking you to come to 'protect' me."

She sighed and shook her head.

Lycoris walked by Alex's side as they went around the store, picking out the items they needed and such. She blushed happily as Alex called them a couple and snuggling a little closer to him as they walked, she couldn't help but softly say, "I love you, Alex. I love you so much."

Matthew chuckled and replied, "Yes, I understand.  I think Lady Penelope is just worried about you.  That's what moms do.  I remember how Alex's mom used to fuss around him all the time.  It kind of got on his nerves."

Alex blushed and replied, "Awww and I love you so very much, my Lycoris.  I love spending time with you and shopping is more fun with you here."

Anjela was silent for a moment then shaking her head, she said, "She wasn't like that before."

She paused then changing the subject, she said, "What about you? Were you an obedient kid, listening to whatever his parents asked of him?"

Lycoris smiled happily and replied, "I love experiencing new things like this with you, you know. It's like exploring the world and its activities with you. You make me so happy, Alex. I am the happiest girl in the world when I am with you."

Matthew nodded and replied, "For the most part.  I mean, I did get into scrapes, here and there, but all boys do, I suppose.  But I was a pretty good kid, I think."

Alex blushed even more and replied, "And I am the happiest man when I am with you, my angel."

He gave Lycoris a kiss on the cheek and then the couple continued to shop for the rest of their items.  Then they headed to the cashier where Alex would pay for all the items.

Anjela nodded and said, "I can imagine you like that. So did you become a healer out of your own will or was it more because you were just following in your dad's steps?"

They continued to walk and Anjela kept her guard up, but she thought some small talk to pass the time as they traveled wouldn't hurt.

Lycoris waited as Alex paid for the items and the salesclerk put their groceries in shopping bags. Once that was done, Lycoris helped Alex carry some of the bags and said,

"We should go back to the house and put these away, right?"

Matthew replied, "A bit of both.  I wanted to become a doctor mostly because I have the desire to, but my dad being one and my grandfather being one helped, too.  I guess it runs in the family."

He smiled a bit.

Alex nodded happily and replied, "Yup, that's right.  We'll need to put these in the icebox, especially the ice cream.  Is it ok for you to carry those bags?  If they're too heavy, I'd be happy to carry them all."

Anjela looked thoughtful and replied, "I see. It must be difficult. I can't imagine someone pursuing medicine or healing if they didn't want it. I don't have any idea about healing except simple first aid, but I don't imagine it to be an easy task to become a skilled doctor or healer."

Lycoris pouted a bit and replied, "Aww I am not so frail, Alex. I can totally help. I'll carry these bags and help you put away everything too."

She smiled happily at him.

Matthew replied, "Well, it's definitely not an easy road to becoming a doctor.  Otherwise, everyone would do it.  It takes years of studying and hard work to be one.  I guess I just had the drive."

Alex chuckled and replied, "Aww ok, Lycoris.  Well, at least we don't have to walk far to get back to our place.  You know, I like when we can do things like go shopping.  It feels good when we can just pick our own foods and do things like this.  Do you think so?"

Anjela nodded then said, "I see. Well, and what's next? Career-wise, I mean. Do you continue to just heal people? Is there a medical school you can teach at, maybe? Spread the knowledge?"

Lycoris nodded happily and replied, "Yes, yes, totally. You know, they may be really simple activities but they are so wonderful to me. It's so much fun actually. Now if I only learn how to cook. I would love to make you a big, delicious meal that I cook myself from start to end."

Matthew looked thoughtful and replied, "I was only thinking of continuing to treat patients and help them.  I'm not sure if teaching would be my thing, but then again, I'd never considered it."

Alex happily replied, "I'd love to have a home cooked meal from you, Lycoris, and you know, I will look into figuring out how to teach you to cook.  I know it's possible."

The couple had arrived back at their vacation home and Alex opened the front door.  He then escorted Lycoris so they could put the groceries away.

Anjela looked thoughtful and replied, "Well, maybe if you don't want to teach at a school, you could take an apprentice? Like a young medical student to train under your supervision?"

Lycoris followed Alex into the vacation home and helped him put away the groceries, handing him the items as he put them in the cupboards and such. Once they were finished, she happily said,

"All done. We're well-stocked now, right?"

Matthew looked thoughtful and replied, "Perhaps.  Would you be up for the position?"

He looked a bit teasingly at Anjela.

Alex nodded happily and replied, "Yup, everything's been put away and stored, and we have some time now before lunch, so what do you want to do?  We can take a walk outside, even go to the patch of flowers I talked about earlier."

Anjela couldn't help but chuckle a little but shaking her head, she said, 

"Nope, thank you. I don't think healing would be my thing. Hmm you could offer the position to my mom though. She's a powerful light magic sorceress and she has a bit of experience with healing magic."

Lycoris nodded happily and replied, "Yes, yes, please. I want to go there. I would love to see that patch of flowers you told me about."

Matthew chuckled and replied, "Perhaps I will, if I open such a position and she's really interested in becoming my apprentice.  It'd be nice to pass on my knowledge."

Alex smiled and offering his arm to Lycoris, he said,

"Ok, then I shall escort my angel there."

He waited for Lycoris to hold his arm and then he led the way outside and the couple walked towards the patch of flowers, taking their time.

Anjela nodded and after a moment of silence, she quietly said, 

"Can I ask you a favor? Take care of my mom? I know she has no one in the world but me but...I won't be around always. So just, at least, make sure she isn't alone?"

Lycoris held Alex's arm and happily followed him to the patch of flowers. She happily said, 

"I am enjoying this date, you know. You sure know how to make a girl happy, Alex. Or is it that I love you so much?"

Matthew looked at Anjela with worry and replied, "Of course I will but Anjela, there's nothing to worry about.  We'll both get to witch and then we'll both return to the human world.  I know we will."

Alex chuckled and replied, "Perhaps it's both.  I love you so very, very much and I'm enjoying our date.  Just the two of us and no one else around."

Anjela nodded and replied, "I know. I am not talking about now. I made it before on my own and I have no doubt we'll make it when it's both of us. But I am talking about later."

She hoped that Matthew would understand that she meant that she would have to pursue killing the queen, and whether she succeeded or not, she would most likely get caught and she wouldn't be spared.

Lycoris blushed and hugged Alex's arm happily, wanting to be as close as possible to him. She replied softly,

"You know, just hearing your voice as you talk used to be a faraway dream to me. I can't believe it's just you and me now, and I can be with you all I want."

Matthew remembered Anjela's goal, to kill Lisianthus.  He nodded and replied, "Yes, I understand."

Inside, he hoped that Anjela would let go of such a goal although he knew that it would be no easy task to do so.

Alex smiled lovingly at Lycoris and replied, "That's right.  You have me all to yourself and there's no one here to disturb us, my angel."

He gazed lovingly at Lycoris and the two of them continued their walk.  They reached a beautiful clearing of green grass and beautiful flowers like lilies and daffodils dotted the area.  He happily said,

"Here we are."

He helped Lycoris to kneel so that she could touch the flowers.

Anjela smiled a bit at Matthew then said, "Thanks. You know, it is nice to have someone to confide in, someone to call a friend. And you're a good friend too, Matt."

Lycoris' face lit up happily as she could touch the flowers and she could take in the wonderful smell. She smiled happily and said, 

"It's so beautiful here. The flowers smell amazing and I can tell it's so peaceful and lovely. This is such a beautiful spot, Alex."

Matthew smiled and replied, "Thanks, Anjela.  You truly are a wonderful friend."

He smiled at her, enjoying her company.

Alex grinned and replied, "It sure is and this place is even more beautiful because you are in it, Lycoris.  It's like the flowers and nature are welcoming you."

As Alex said his words, a few birds flew nearby, chirping happily.

Anjela smiled a little but didn't say anything as the two of them continued their walk. It was then when they started to hear a pounding sound, like those of a footsteps but of a giant creature. Even the trees around them seemed to be shake at the presence. Frowning, Anjela took a fighting stance and said,

"Matt, are you up for another round? It looks like we have company."

Lycoris blushed and giggling happily, she said, "Aww I bet they are welcoming you, Alex. It's just natural in your wonderful presence, you know. This place is like a piece of heaven, so peaceful. But it's heaven because you're here with me."

Matthew's face turned serious and readying his sword, he replied, "Yup, I'm ready when you are.  Let's do it."

Alex blushed and replied, "And I feel like I'm in heaven when I'm with you, no matter where we are."

A bird landed on the ground near Lycoris and it chirped happily at her.  Alex smiled and said,

"Awww I think she's welcoming you with her song, angel."

Anjela and Matt stood still for a moment until a huge monster emerged from the woods, roaring at them. It was the same giant monster Anjela had described earlier, half-animal like and one-eyed. He roared angrily at them, ready to attack. Anjela summoned a couple of fire balls in her hands and said, 

"Well, it's just one monster this time although it doesn't look like we have an easy task."

Lycoris smiled happily as the bird landed near her. She extended her hand towards it carefully and softly said, 

"Can I touch it? Or would it fly away?"
