The soldiers' captain smiled a bit to Ryan and replied, "Yes, sir."

Lisianthus furrowed her eyebrows and said, "Have you started aligning your soldiers yet, captain? I want the finest and strongest soldiers on our side."

The captain nodded and replied, "Yes, Your Majesty. They'll be ready by sunset so we can move."

Lycoris clutched harder onto Matthew but the real Lycoris was able to regain control and taking her breathes, she slowly said,

"I-I am fine, Matthew. Please leave. You-you're strengthening her over me."

(Well, it seems like posts are working again.  I'm just quoting because there are a few stupid blank posts and I don't feel like removing them at the moment.  But you can do so if you'd like.)

Ryan nodded and replied, "That's good.  We'll get Nerine out of there and then back here to the castle, where she'll be safe."

Matthew shook his head and replied, "If she's telling the truth, I can't leave.  I can't let you two go through with this."

(Ahh glad it's working all well again. I deleted all the blank posts so it should be all good now. ^^)

The captain nodded to Ryan and replied, "We will, sir."

Lisianthus nodded to the captain and said, "Okay. Please resume your work and I'll check on things myself after a while. You may leave now, cap."

The captain nodded and after bowing respectfully, he left the room.

Lycoris shook her head quickly and replied with difficulty, "She-she isn't. Please, just leave, Matt. I-I can't resist her while you're around."

There were tears trickling down her cheeks and truthfully, both Lycoris were crying. The real Lycoris was fighting so she wouldn't lose control while her other self was desperately trying to reach out to Matthew so he wouldn't leave her.

Ryan turned to Lisianthus with a soft smile and said,

"It looks like we have a good plan in place.  You should get your rest, beautiful, so we can be ready to make the attack when it's time."

Alex turned to Matthew and said, "Please, just go, Matt.  Lycoris can't calm down until you leave and even if you'd admit that you don't want her to continue like this."

Matthew sighed and replied, "Ok but you two have to tell me the truth, everything, ok?"

Alex replied, "We will, we will."

Lisianthus returned Ryan's smile and replied,

"Yeah, I will. Let's have lunch first though? I am hungry. Then I will rest. I am pretty sure my body could use it."

Lycoris nodded quickly and replied, "We will, Matt. Please go."

She was holding back her other self with all her strength, who was desperately trying to reach out to Matthew again, not wanting him to go.

Ryan nodded happily and replied, "Sure, that sounds good.  Let's go eat."

He got up and waited for Lisianthus to get up as well so that they could go get something to eat.

Matthew was about to get up and go but he felt the strong tug from Lycoris' hand and he gently said,

"It seems like she doesn't want to let me go."

Lisianthus got up as well and then holding Ryan's arm, the two walked together out of the office and to the dining room. There, they took their seats then Lisianthus asked a maid to fetch lunch, which she left to do so right away.

Lycoris' real self was the one in charge again and pleadingly replied, "She doesn't but I do. Please, Matthew, please. Just go."

Although her words were the real Lycoris', the look in her eyes was her other self's, with the same pleading, desperate look.

As the couple waited for lunch to be brought, Ryan said,

"I'll be glad when this is all over.  At least once we get Nerine back, we'll know she'll be safe."

He knew that Lisianthus wouldn't be in a good condition to open up the portal, so he thought Lisianthus would want to rest in the gods' world after the mission was over.

Matthew sighed and replied, "I'll go but I want to know the truth when I get back."

He gave Lycoris' hand a squeeze, as though trying to tell the other one silently to trust him, that he wouldn't let anything happen to her.

Lisianthus nodded and replied, 

"Yes, that's true. I just want to have her back so she's safe and happy again. I am not sure if I will be strong enough to open the portal to take her back to the humans' world right afterwards though. I can try to summon it but I'll doubt I'll able to do it so soon."

She sighed sadly.

Lycoris nodded and replied, "I-I'll tell you but please leave now."

Her other self could feel Matthew's message and calmed down a little, hoping that he really wouldn't abandon her.

Ryan nodded and replied, "I understand.  I don't think you should push yourself to open the portal again.  I wish I had the ability to do so, to take some of the burden off of you."

He looked a bit sadly at Lisianthus.

Matthew nodded and replied, "Ok, I'll go."

He turned to Alex and added, "Help Lycoris, will you?"

Alex replied, "Of course.  I'm not leaving her side ever."

Matthew got up and letting go of Lycoris' hand, he left the room, heading to the kitchen.

(I'll be multi-tasking so I might be slow in posting.  XD)

(No problem. I am at the pharmacy so it's all good. XD)

Lisianthus reached out to touch Ryan's hand gently and smiling at him, she said, 

"Your presence by my side already takes a lot of burden off my shoulders, cutie. I don't know what I would have done without your support."

The maids soon returned with lunch and laid it out in front of the couple then took her leave.

Lycoris took deep breathes after Matthew left, and her other self calmed down, hoping that Matthew had a plan. She quietly said,

"She-she goes crazy when she knows he is around."

(Cool.  XD)

After the maids left, Ryan said,

"Well, we should eat and then you should get your rest, ok?"

Alex sighed and replied, "Yeah, that's true and I totally see what you mean about Matt giving her strength.

But what do we tell him?  If we tell him the truth, he will stop us."

Lisianthus nodded and replied, "Yes, I will. I need to have my strength for later."

She started eating, getting a little of her strength.

Lycoris shook her head right away and replied, 

"He won't stop us. I-I won't let anyone stop us. I'll fight my other self with all my might and I...I'll find a way to stop Matthew too if he tries to come in our way. We have to save Nerine."

Ryan picked up his fork and began to eat his lunch, too.  He wanted to get his strength as well and wanted to make sure that Lisianthus would be strong, too.

Alex nodded and replied, "I agree.  I would rather not resort to fighting but if it comes to that, we may not have a choice.  So how do you want to approach Matt?  Do we tell him the truth or lie?  If we lie, she'll come out and you'll have that problem again."

Lisianthus continued eating her lunch, enjoying it and Ryan's company. She was soon all finished and waited for Ryan to finish up as well.

Lycoris furrowed her eyebrows and was thoughtfully silent for a few moments. She had an idea and although she didn't want to resort to using it, she knew that she might not have a choice. She quietly said, almost in a whisper,

"If-if I have to, I'll use a hypnosis spell on him to just forget what he saw."

She felt a sharp pain in her head just saying those words, as her other self definitely didn't like what she heard.

Ryan continued to eat his lunch and soon, he was finished, too.  He smiled a bit at Lisianthus and said,

"That was a good meal.  I'm full."

Alex widened his eyes in surprise and replied, "Uhh I see.  I don't like the idea of using such tricks on him but either telling him the truth or lying presents problems."

Lisianthus smiled happily at Ryan and said, 

"Me too. Lunch was pretty delicious and I'm full too."

She rubbed her forehead a little and said, "I really should get some rest before I start feeling unwell."

Lycoris replied tearfully, "I-I don't like it either but I don't know what to do. And my other self isn't calming down. She-she is pushing me with all her strength. I'm fighting her as strongly as I can but I-I don't know how long I'll hold up."

Ryan nodded and replied, "Of course.  May I escort you upstairs, my queen?"

He smiled lovingly at Lisianthus.

Alex replied, "Ok, how about we go upstairs to your room and you can rest?  If Matt asks for you, I'll just say that you had to take a nap or something.  I can make up an excuse for you.  Would that work?"

Lisianthus nodded happily and replied, "Of course, my king."

She got up and after Ryan had gotten up as well, she held his arm and followed his lead back upstairs to her room.

Lycoris nodded and replied, "Ok. I hope he buys that and my-my other self can just calm down for now."

She still felt the sharp pain in her head although she was doing her best to hold up.

Ryan escorted Lisianthus upstairs back to her room and once they were inside and the door closed behind them, he turned to her and said,

"Now, let's go take a nap and rest, ok?"

Alex replied, "Me, too.  Let me go take you upstairs to your room.  You look like you could use the rest anyway."

He helped Lycoris to her feet and gently holding her arm, he escorted her upstairs to her room.

Lisianthus nodded and yawning a bit, she said, "Yeah, that would help a lot."

She led the way to the bed and laid down, waiting for Ryan to lay beside her so they could rest for a bit.

Lycoris followed Alex upstairs to her room, internally doing her best to fight her other self and hold up.

Ryan laid down on the bed beside Lisianthus and wrapping his arms around her, he said,

"There, now we can both get some sleep and I know I'll sleep well with you, beautiful."

Alex escorted Lycoris upstairs to her room and once inside, he closed the door and walked her to her bed.  Taking a seat beside her, he said,

"There, now you can have some peace and quiet."

(A bit random but if you were talking to someone about a Twitch stream (and it has to do with the topic you're both discussing), would you just suddenly get annoyed?  I mean, it might be a bit off-topic but it's not that off-topic.)

(Hmm if I don't feel that the person is suddenly diverting the conversation into a total other direction or interrupting me, then nope, it's fine. XD But I've had it happen when I am talking to someone about something then they go totally off-topic and yeah, honestly, it ticks me a bit.)

Lisianthus smiled softly at Ryan and cuddling close to him, she lovingly said,

"Me too. See you later, my Ryan."

She gave him a quick kiss then closed her eyes, falling asleep almost instantly.

Lycoris nodded and softly replied,

"I guess it's best that we stay here until it's time to go. I-I don't want to have lunch even. It's more important to make sure everything goes as we want."

(Oh ok, Folke seemed annoyed because we were talking about Wargroove and I happened to mention a streamer I was watching earlier who was streaming the game.  I didn't think it was that off-topic but he just got annoyed at me, like I committed some sort of crime or something.  I mean, I kind of thought it like if I was talking about a TV show or something and does that make me a criminal to bring up a topic that might be a bit on the mundane side?)

Ryan smiled as well and soon fell asleep, too.

Alex furrowed his eyebrows and asked, "Are you sure?  I can bring something up for you.  You should have your strength."

(Hmm I wouldn't even consider that off-topic. I mean, you're still talking about the game so how is that off-topic in the first place? O.O Ehh I am sorry to say this but I have the feeling Folke gets upset very easily at rather small things? :/)

Lycoris shook her head and replied, 

"I'll be fine. I don't want to risk having the others suspect that anything is up or Matthew interrupting us again. It-it's enough dealing with my other self."

(I know, and I think it didn't help that I happened to mention that the streamer was a guy.  I do follow him on Twitch although it's usually because I watch his Mario Maker streams, so I was surprised to see him streaming Wargroove.  It didn't seem like that streamer's usual type of game, which was the only reason I mentioned it.  And then Folke got upset.  I just feel like sometimes, I have to deal with him like I deal with my mother-not mention anything remotely upsetting so something like the weather.  :/)

Alex nodded and replied, "Ok, but if you do get hungry, let me know.  And maybe when it's quieter later, I can grab us something to eat."
