Alex replied,

We'll do our best, but...


He described to Irene how the conversation between Nerine and Lisianthus was going and it didn't seem to be going well.

Irene sighed and replied,

Please do your best or at least, if she isn't planning to come back soon, at least stay with her or know where she is going to be. Just don't let her disappear like that again.

Alex replied,

Ok, we'll do our best.


He then shut off the telepathy and focused his attention on the conversation between the ladies, wondering what was going on.

Nerine didn't know what to do as Lisianthus continued ignoring her, and quietly said,

"Please, Sia. Everyone is really worried about you back in the castle and we kept looking for you everywhere. Please tell me what's wrong."

Lisianthus suddenly turned to them and with the same frown, she angrily said, "I am not a three year girl so everyone keeps looking for me like this. Leave me alone. Isn't it obvious that I want to be alone? Do I have to scream at you to leave me alone?!"

Alex could see that Nerine's attempts weren't working so he decided on another idea.  He gently approached Melody and petting her head, he said,

"Hey, Melody.  You must be worried about Sia, aren't you?"

Melody whinnied quietly as Alex petted her, nodding her head and replying positively that yes, she was worried. Nerine didn't say anything more to Lisianthus and turned her attention to Alex, wondering what his plan was.

Alex continued to pet Melody's head and gently asked,

"Can you tell us what happened, girl?  Or perhaps it would be better if I asked you yes or no questions and you can answer them?"

Melody whinnied and nodded her head, agreeing to Alex's idea, as she hoped that he might be able to do anything to help Lisianthus.

Lisianthus became attentive at this and although she didn't say anything, she turned her eyes sharply towards Alex and Melody, wondering what he was doing.

Alex smiled softly and replied, "All right then.  First question-do you know why Sia is so sad, girl?  It saddens both me and my darling to see her like this and it must be the same for you, too."

Melody nodded her head and whinnied sadly, as she knew that there were a lot of problems between Lisianthus and Ryan and it was the reason why Lisianthus was so sad and down.

Alex nodded as well and looking thoughtful, he asked,

"Does it involve someone who's very close to her?"

Melody nodded her head again, answering yes one more time. If she could speak, she would just mention Ryan right away and tell Alex everything.

Alex got an idea so he leaned in to Melody's left ear and whispered, 

"Would this person happen to be Ryan?"

He then went back to his original position to await Melody's answer.

(Getting sleepy here so I'll get off for the night now and go to sleep.  I'll check back tomorrow and post again.  Nite, nite, Love.  ^^)

Melody whinnied once more at Alex's question, nodding her head to answer positively and confirm his thoughts. 

Lisianthus was almost at the end of her rope with this and almost felt like getting up, taking Melody and flying away from the couple who interfered with her alone time.

Alex glanced at Lisianthus and guessing her feelings, he used his telepathy to communicate with Nerine and said,

Darling, can you make sure that Sia doesn't do anything rash?  We can't lose her again.

Nerine replied telepathically,

I'll do my best. I'm keeping my eyes on her.

Guessing that perhaps that wouldn't be enough, she tried to talk to Lisianthus again, to distract her from Alex's conversation with Melody, although Lisianthus wouldn't respond all the same.

Alex then turned his attention back to Melody and said,

"Do you think that the two of them are simply having a misunderstanding?  That if they talked to each other, they could work things out?"

Melody whinnied and nodded her head once more, answering positively. As the pegasus had heard from both Lisianthus and Ryan, she knew that both of them were still very much in love with each other, and that this was only a huge misunderstanding.

Alex gently petted Melody on her head and smiling softly at her, he replied,

"Yes, I agree with you there, girl.  I've found that people can usually overcome any difficulties if they talk to each other calmly about them, especially when they're in love.  Wouldn't you agree, girl?"

Melody whinnied happily at that, glad that Alex seemed to understand her on the subject and hoped that he would be able to do something to fix things between the couple, as she hated having them apart like this.

Meanwhile, Lisianthus, who was getting quite impatient, finally looked at Alex and angrily said,

"Are you done? Aren't you planning on leaving me alone now? It isn't too much I'm asking, is it?"

Alex gave Melody a knowing smile, silently telling her that he would do his best to fix things between Lisianthus and Ryan.

He turned to Lisianthus and gently said, "Sia, we're sorry for disturbing you like this.  We understand that you want some alone time.  It's just that so many people are worried about you and you didn't respond to any of us.  If you had just told us that you wanted to be alone, we would have understood."

Lisianthus replied with the same tone,

"I am not a three-year-old girl so you keep looking for me when I'm out. I'm the queen and I can go out and in as I like. I don't need anyone's permission and no one has to worry about me."

Although Lisianthus wouldn't have usually talked so emotionlessly, her anger and state of depression took over her words and actions.

Alex replied, "We know you aren't.  You're an adult and you're perfectly capable of taking care of yourself.  But you shouldn't shut yourself out.  So many people want to be with you and they love you, you know.  If we didn't care about you, we would have just ignored you completely.  But we do and we can't do that."

He looked to Nerine for confirmation.

Nerine nodded, agreeing wholeheartedly as she replied,

"That's quite true. That's what I've been trying to tell you ever since we've come here. And you-you don't need to shut yourself out like this. We're here for you and if anything is the matter with you, at least talk to us about it."

Although Lisianthus was touched by the couple's care, their words didn't help her very much and she believed that there was nothing in their power to do to heal her pain. Approaching Melody, she quietly said,

"I'm fine. I don't need to talk to anyone. Just leave me alone."

Alex didn't believe Lisianthus' words and knowing that they couldn't let her leave, he decided to try something.  Using his telepathy to communicate to Melody, he said,

Hey, girl.  I hope this isn't too weird that I'm talking to you like this.  But if possible, we can't let Sia leave.  Can you help us?


(I know it's weird for Alex to use telepathy on Melody but I couldn't think of another idea.  lol)
