Romance RP

The shapeshifter cast a protective shield around herself to absorb Alex's fireballs, and made sure to observe him carefully, making notes of how quick he was and his concentration, as well as how easily he summoned the fireballs.

Alex continued to summon fireballs for a few more minutes, each one appearing consistently one after the other.  As he started to feel tired, though, he finally had to stop, dropping his hands by his sides.  He looked to the shapeshifter and asked,

"How was that?"

The shapeshifter let down her shield and smiling a bit, she nodded in satisfaction and said,

"That was pretty good. Your attacks were consistent all the while and you kept it up for a good time."

She paused then said, "Do you want to call it a day? You look tired but that's understandable. Today's spells were more difficult than usual."

Alex thought for a moment and then nodding, he replied, "Yes, I think that sounds good.  I'll take a rest and then after I'm refreshed, I can practice these spells on my own so that they'll last longer."

The shapeshifter nodded and replied, "Alright then."

She reached out to her cloak and hood and as she put them on, she said,

"I'll be heading to check on the girl and the human. Tomorrow's lesson will be early in the morning, alright?"

Alex nodded and replied, "All right, that sounds good."

He paused and then asked, "Would you like me to accompany you or would you rather see them alone?"

The shapeshifter was silent for a moment then shrugging, she said,

"I prefer that you come along so they can get used to seeing you with me, but I don't want to push you. If you feel tired and you'd rather go back to your room to get some rest, I'll understand."

Alex shook his head and replied, "No, I'd like to go with you.  I'd like to see how they're doing as well and then I can get some rest afterwards."

He made sure that his cloak and hood were securely on and then he waited for the shapeshifter to lead the way.

The shapeshifter nodded and replied, "Alright then, follow me."

She made sure her cloak and hood were on as well then she led the way out of the arena and to the couple's room. They soon made it there and she knocked on the door, wanting to see if they were awake yet first.

Inside, Ryan and Lycoris were sleeping when he heard a knock at the door.  He was roused from his slumber and then he gently shook Lycoris' shoulder, whispering,

"Angel, I'm sorry to wake you up but I think someone's at the door."

Lycoris woke up as she heard Ryan telling her that someone was at the door and getting up as she rubbed her eyes, she quietly said to him,

"What? Who's there? Is it the shapeshifter?"

Ryan replied, "Probably but I can find out quickly."

Using his magic, he was able to see through the door and saw that it was the shapeshifter and her assistant.  He then said,

"Yes, it's her and her assistant.  Should we let them in or just pretend to be asleep?  But if we're awake, you're going to have to pretend to be the usual Lycoris, ok?"

Lycoris frowned a bit as she remembered how she would have to behave but nodding, she said, 

"Ok. I think they're going to come in anyways so we can just let them in. We have to know what they want and what they're planning."

Ryan nodded and replied, "That's true.  Ok, I'll call them in."

After quickly making sure that the bracelet was back on his wrist and in a way that it didn't look like it had been tampered with, he called out,

"Come in."

Alex looked to the shapeshifter and commented, "Looks like they're awake now."

The shapeshifter nodded to Alex and unlocking the door, she entered with Alex behind her. Smirking, she said,

"Finally awake. I was wondering if you're going to sleep the whole day through."

She looked at Lycoris and said, "How are you feeling now?"

Lycoris quietly said in her usual tone, "I'm a little better, miss. Thanks."

Ryan wrapped his arms protectively around Lycoris and added, "We've had to sleep for a lot today because my angel has been feeling quite exhausted.  She shouldn't have even needed to surrender herself but since you had held Alex captive, she felt like she had no choice."

The shapeshifter rolled her eyes and replied, "I doubt she was exhausted because she needed to surrender herself. And don't keep bringing that up before I have to put you in a separate cell."

She paused then taking a breath, she turned to Lycoris and said, "Because of your weak health, I'll have to postpone taking your powers for a while, a week at least. Until then, you'll have to do your best to get better, understood? I'll make sure your meals are on time and you get as much rest as possible."

Lycoris was getting angered by how the shapeshifter was talking to her and almost yelled at her but keeping her calm, she quietly said,

"Yes, miss. I'll do as you say. Thank you for your kindness."

Ryan admitted to himself that Lycoris was doing a good job at remaining calm despite the situation.  Also, he had to wonder why the shapeshifter was being so nice to her when she was simply going to kill her in the end to take her powers.  However, putting such thoughts at the back of his mind, he asked,

"So you wanted to check up on my angel?  Is that all?"

The shapeshifter raised an eyebrow and replied, 

"Doesn't that seem important to you? She has the powers I need so she has to remain in good health or else I won't be able to take them at all."

She turned her back to them and said, "If you need anything, let one of the soldiers on the door know."

She then went out of their room and waited for Alex to follow before closing the door after them, locking it securely.

Once the shapeshifter and Alex left, Ryan breathed a sigh of relief and said,

"Thank goodness they've left and you did a great job just now, angel.  I would have believed you were the usual Lycoris if I didn't know otherwise."

Lycoris groaned angrily after the shapeshifter and Alex finally left and turning to Ryan with a frown, she said,

"She's such a jerk. I wanted to jump at her and teach her lesson for everything just now. I am so glad we don't have to stay here for much longer."

The shapeshifter turned to Alex after they were out of the room and said,

"At least it's the usual personality in control. That's kind of a relief."

Ryan smiled and replied, "You stayed in control and that's great.  The shapeshifter said that she would wait a week before taking your powers so we have to get out before then.  We'll need to come up with a foolproof escape plan.  Since I can use my powers again, I can contact Duchess Irene and see if we can collaborate and come up with a good plan."

Alex nodded and replied, "Yes, she is the Lycoris that I know.  I wonder what her other self is like.  I've never met her but is she the opposite?"

Lycoris nodded in agreement and replied, "Do so. We must take all the precautions and make sure that our plan is faultless. I can't bear to remain here for much longer."

The shapeshifter nodded and replied,

"According to the human, yeah. I imagine her to be a rude, mean girl that is pretty selfish and only thinks of her own good. Well, that's the opposite of her current behavior although I find it difficult to imagine Lycoris behaving this way."

Ryan nodded and replied, "I understand.  Let's contact Duchess Irene after dinner, ok?  That way, there would be no reason for anyone else to drop by to visit us.  Perhaps if I can describe our surroundings to Duchess Irene, she may know where we are."

Alex replied, "Same here.  I'm relieved to know that we're dealing with the kind Lycoris here.  An unkind one would prove to be very troublesome."

Lycoris nodded and replied, "Alright, that sounds like a good plan. It will help a lot to have support when we escape. Even if we have to fight then, we'll have the upper hand and who knows? Maybe we can finally defeat them once and for all."

She smiled in satisfaction with the plan, although her smile was sly and almost malicious.

The shapeshifter nodded and took a deep breath, then rubbing her forehead, she said, 

"Go to your room to get the rest you need. It's a while before dinner so make most of it."
