William shook his head to Megan and replied,

"I'm fine. Are you hungry? We can go eat with everyone else if you are."

Lisianthus looked to Ryan and replied,

"The chancellor must have told her that. I can't imagine him telling her and leaving that information out, or else he would picture her husband as a criminal. Even if she didn't know and I told her, do you think that would be enough to make her forgive me?"

Megan nodded and replied, "Yup, I am. I want to eat."

Ms. Laura led the way to a nice casual restaurant that served pizza, pasta, and salads. She ordered pizzas for the children but allowed Megan, William, and Stacey to order what they wanted. Stacey looked to Megan and asked,

"What kind of pizza do you like?"

Megan looked to William and asked, "What's your favorite?"

Ryan looked thoughtful and after a few minutes of silence, he replied,

"I think that if you had told Duchess Irene, she would have been angry at first. I mean, it was her husband after all and she must have loved him very much. But she's close to you, too, and I'd think that if she knew there were extenuating circumstances, she could have forgiven you.

I'm curious, though. This rival you mentioned-was he connected to the chancellor?"

William looked thoughtful for a few moments then replied,

"I like cheese pizza. It's simple but it's very delicious as well."

Lisianthus shook her head and replied, "No, not at all. He was a rival of Irene's husband and he was jealous that he was promoted to a higher position than his. The chancellor actually tried to stop me when I was determined to have him executed but he had no evidence to prove that he was innocent, so I didn't listen to him.

I know I should have told Irene about this earlier but I couldn't. Whenever I tried to bring myself to tell her, I feared her reaction so I didn't. The chancellor was the only one who knew about it."

Megan replied, "I agree. Let's have cheese pizza."

Stacey smiled and replied, "Sure. I'll go order it for us."

She went to a waiter and ordered a cheese pizza for Megan, William, and herself along with glasses of fruit punch. Then she joined the others at a table where Megan continued to chatter away happily.

Ryan nodded and replied, "I see." Frowning, he then continued,

"You know, I think the chancellor told Duchess Irene because he knew how loyal she was to you and this news was perhaps the only way to break her and get her to his side. I think you should have told Duchess Irene before this all blew up but I can understand why you didn't."

William joined Megan and Stacey at the table as they waited for the waiter to bring the pizza. Turning to Megan, he said,

"I hope you're having fun so far, Megan."

Lisianthus nodded and was silent for a few moments. Turning to Ryan, she said,

"Do you think Irene might really join the chancellor's side? She must hate me now and I don't blame her but do you think she might really help him over us?"

Megan nodded and replied, "Yup, this has been a wonderful day so far. I'm spending it with my favorite man ever."

Stacey giggled happily and replied, "William is wonderful, isn't he?"

Megan replied, "Yup, the most wonderful, handsome man in the world."

Ryan replied,

"I don't know. I've only known Duchess Irene for a short while but in the times I've been with her, she appears to be a good woman. I know she must be feeling hurt right now but if her common sense takes over, she'll know in her heart that what the chancellor is doing is wrong. Now the chancellor might actually have good intentions but his actions were clearly in the wrong and I hope that Duchess Irene knows that.

I say that we give her a little time and then try to talk to her again."

William couldn't help but blush as Megan and Stacey continued to talk about him and replying, he said,

"Aww come on, you two. If I am that wonderful, then what are you? You two are the most beautiful, wonderful and amazing women ever."

Lisianthus nodded slowly and replying, he said,

"I guess so. I want Irene to forgive me but if she weren't to do so, then at least she shouldn't side over with the chancellor on taking the throne unfairly like that."

Megan and Stacey blushed as William complimented them and Stacey replied,

"Aww but we're simply speaking the truth about you, aren't we?"

Megan nodded happily and replied, "Yup, yup, we are!"

The waiters returned carrying pizzas for everyone and one of the waiters placed a delicious cheese pizza on the table where Megan, William, and Stacey were along with plates, utensils, and glasses of fruit juice. Then he left, leaving them to enjoy their meal.

Ryan nodded and replied, "I agree. Let's see how things play out but this was a dirty move on the chancellor's part."

Thinking of how to cheer up Lisianthus a bit, he then continued,

"I have an idea. How about we contact Nerine and see how she and Alex are doing?"

William looked at the food brought before them and observed that it looked very delicious. He commented,

"This definitely looks wonderful. Let's eat, everyone."

He served Megan and Stacey two slices of pizza as well as one for himself, then began eating with everyone else.

Lisianthus nodded to Ryan and although she still looked down, she replied,

"Yeah, we should do so. I wonder how they are doing. Do you want to contact them or should I?"

Megan and Stacey began to eat their slices of pizza and Megan commented,

"Yum, cheese pizza is the best. William has the best taste."

Stacey grinned and replied, "Yup, he sure does."

Ryan replied, "I'll contact them."

He closed his eyes and then reached out to Nerine, saying,

Hi, Nerine. It's me, Ryan. How are you and Alex?

William chuckled happily over Megan's and Stacey's comments and replied,

"Thanks, you two. I am glad you are enjoying them. I bet the pizza is honored to be eaten by you two as well."

He winked at them and continued eating.

Nerine heard Ryan contacting her and replying, she said,

Hello, Ryan. I and Alex are quite fine and so far, there are no threats at all. Your idea of coming here was brilliant.

How are you and Sia? Is everything ok on your side?

Stacey and Megan giggled over William's comment and they continued to eat happily, enjoying the day and being in William's company.

Ryan replied,

We're fine, physically. Sia heard some bad news but we'll weather through it together.

Are the people in the devils' world treating you well? They must be happy over your return, even if it's temporary.

William continued eating happily and enjoying the company and lunch. After a while, he was done with his lunch and he felt pretty full.

Nerine replied,

They are. They thought I was long dead so it was happy news for them to know that I am alive. I am happy to see more people of my race as well, alive and well.

Stacey and Megan soon finished after William did and Megan commented,

"That was the best lunch ever."

Ms. Laura and the other children were finishing up as well.

Ryan replied happily,

That's wonderful news. Sia will be happy to hear that. How's Alex doing? I hope no one's tried to eat him.

Of course, Ryan was joking about Alex being eaten but he was aware that some devils liked to eat humans.

William smiled to Megan and replied,

"I'm glad you liked it. Let me go take care of the bill."

He got up and went to the cashier to pay for everyone's meals.

Nerine couldn't help but laugh a little over Ryan's joke and replying, she said,

Nah, fortunately. He is fine and I wouldn't let anyone hurt him, of course. Hopefully, he doesn't attract any hungry devils since he does look delicious.

While they waited for William to return, Stacey and Megan cleaned up a little, throwing away their trash but leaving the plates and such for the waiters to clean up later.

Ms. Laura was gently instructing the children to clean up as well, as they had a lot more to look forward to in the afternoon.

Ryan chuckled quietly over Nerine's comment and replied,

I'm sure you would protect Alex with every bit of your strength. Sia and I have been taking good care of the house. We've protected ourselves well and now it's only a matter of waiting.
