Mark nodded and replied, "Aye, see you tomorrow, mate."

He waved goodbye to William and then headed towards the wagon along with some other workers, heading back to town.

Meanwhile, Stacey was busy preparing dinner in the kitchen, as she knew that William would be home soon and wanted a hot dinner ready for him.

Ryan was fascinated as he watched the performances and he especially loved seeing the ones with magical pets. He looked to Lisianthus and said,

"I definitely need to get a pet. They're talented and playful, too."

William waved goodbye to Mark and then went on his way back to the hut. After a while of casual walking, he arrived back at the hut. He entered and once inside, he could smell the delicious scent of dinner. Guessing that Stacey was in the kitchen, he went there and upon seeing her, he smiled warmly and said,

"I'm home, pretty."

Lisianthus observed the magical pets along with Ryan and smiling, she nodded and replied,

"Yup, and they are so cute, too. Maybe you should take a look at the pets' shop in the magic district back in Cephiron. You might find a suitable magical pet for you."

Stacey saw and heard William enter the kitchen. She was happy to see him and pausing in her cooking, she approached him and embraced him warmly, replying,

"Welcome home, handsome. I missed you. Dinner's almost ready."

Ryan nodded and replied, "That's a great idea. And I'll ask the shopkeeper for recommendations. There's a saying in the human world that pets reflect the personalities of their owners and it's probably the same here, too."

William returned the embrace warmly and replied,

"I missed you too. And yup, I can smell dinner and it sure smells great."

Seeing Stacey made troubles go away from his mind, for she comforted him with just her presence.

Lisianthus nodded and replied, "Sure, that would be great. I am sure they can give you pretty good recommendations."

She continued to look around, observing the different tricks and such.

Stacey smiled softly and replied,

"Thanks, handsome. Why don't you go take a seat at the table? I'll lay everything out for us."

She let go of William and then took a couple of plates out. Then she placed food for both of them. She cooked linguini for both of them and there was a side of salad on the plate. She placed both plates along with utensils on the table. Then she took out a basket and placed some freshly baked rolls on them and placed it on the table as well. Finally, she poured grape juice into two glasses and placed them on the table. Then she took a seat, waiting for William to try out the food.

Ryan continued to look around as well and commenting, he asked,

"So what's your favorite performance here so far?"

William took a seat as well across from Stacey and looking at the dinner spread before him, he was pretty impressed. Smiling happily, he said,

"This sure looks pretty good."

He then took his fork and tried some of the linguini. After swallowing, he continued, "And it tastes pretty delicious as well."

Lisianthus looked thoughtful for a minute and then replied, "I like the pets' performance. They are cute and pretty playful."

Stacey was happy that William liked the food and replied,

"I'm happy it's to your liking. You deserve the best."

She took her fork and began to eat her food as well.

Ryan nodded and replied, "Me, too. The pets here are very talented."

He continued to watch the performances, feeling amazed by how talented the sorcerers and magicians were.

William smiled and continued eating his food as well. He then remembered the trouble about Lord James and Steven and wondered whether he should bring that up to Stacey. He didn't want to worry her for nothing as he wasn't sure whether she would be able to help, but he also felt like he shouldn't hide anything from her.

Lisianthus continued watching the performances, too, liking what she saw and heard around. Although she did feel pretty tired, she was enjoying her time anyhow and liked being around Ryan, having fun and watching the performances.

As Stacey continued to eat dinner with William, she thought to bring up casual conversation and so asked,

"How was work today? The usual?"

Ryan saw that Lisianthus was enjoying herself, too, and seeing her almost made him forget that she looked tired earlier. Thinking of something else to ask, Ryan said,

"Does this fair go on everyday or just certain days?"

William was about to nod and say that work was the usual when he thought that he really shouldn't hide anything from Stacey. So instead, he replied,

"Mostly but there was something interesting. Umm...Steven approached me today and he said something about not trusting Lord James. He didn't want to mention any details, though."

Lisianthus turned to Ryan and replied, "It goes on everyday except one day in the week as a day off. But most sorcerers like to come here everyday to show off and all."

Stacey looked confused and replied,

"Hmm I see. I wish I knew what Steven meant by that but I have no idea at all. I have to admit that there are times I don't understand my dad. I can try to find out what's going on."

Ryan nodded and replied, "Ahh that's nice. It's great to see them showcasing their talents like so. There's nothing like this at all back in my world and back in Devenshire, there wasn't a magic district. I was lucky that there was one in Lessire."

William nodded and replied,

"I can't understand him either and I don't know why Steven told me that. He knows that I don't like him and I am pretty sure he doesn't like me either. Plus, I do wonder what he knows about Lord James."

Lisianthus nodded and replied, "I see. I guess Lessire is more experienced than Devenshire when it comes to magic and all? And you'd expect a lot of these things around here since my world is interested in magic."

Stacey replied,

"Yeah, this is confusing. Do you believe Steven-in what he said?"

Inside, Stacey thought that it might possibly be a trick to confused William.

Ryan nodded and replied, "Yup, and Lessire is much bigger than Devenshire so it's not a surprise. I feel lucky that I'm getting more exposed to magic."

William was silent for a moment, not sure how to reply. He hadn't thought of that before-that Steven could be lying to him or trying to trick him.

Finally replying, he said, "I am not sure but I did think that it was strange of Lord James to suddenly change his mind. I don't know why Steven would try to warn me, though. Do you think I should try talking to him, see if I could get out more details?"

Lisianthus smiled happily and continued looking around. The daylight was beginning to go away, as the sun was beginning to leave. Noticing that, Lisianthus commented,

"Ahh I forgot to mention that time passes slightly quicker in cities in the sky. This reminds me that we didn't have lunch yet."

Stacey nodded and replied, "That isn't a bad idea but please be careful, handsome. I don't want you to be in danger or hurt because of what Steven said."

Ryan nodded and replied, "Ahh I see. I didn't realize that we haven't eaten yet. Let's go grab a bite then. Do you know of any good restaurants nearby?"

William nodded and smiling, he replied,

"I promise I will be, pretty. I will try talking to Steven then. For now, we shouldn't worry about this. I want to enjoy the evening with my pretty wife."

He winked at her and continued eating dinner.

Lisianthus nodded and replied, "Sure, I know one. Let's go."

She led the way to Melody and after both were on, she led the way to a nearby restaurant where customers could eat outside in the fresh air. The restaurant had a beautiful view as well, as one could see the clouds that surrounded the city.

Stacey smiled and nodding, she replied,

"Ok, handsome. Let's enjoy this evening."

She continued to eat her diner and after a while, she was all done. Getting up, she took her plate and utensils to the sink and washed them. Then she put everything on the drying rack.

Ryan saw the restaurant that Lisianthus directed to and said,

"Wow, this place is perfect. I was right. You do know the best places."

He helped Lisianthus get off of Melody and then he got off himself. Then he led the way to the restaurant.

William soon finished up his dinner as well and got up to wash the plate, utensils and put them on the drying rack. Once he was all done, he turned to Stacey and said,

"Since we're all done here, how would you like to spend the evening tonight?"

Lisianthus grinned proudly and followed Ryan to the restaurant. A waiter saw them approach and helped them find a table outside, then presented them the menus, bowed and left.

Looking at the menus, Lisianthus said, "The food here is all delicious so go ahead and choose what you like."

Stacey thought about it for a couple of minutes and then said,

"How about we take a walk outside? It's such a beautiful night and I want to enjoy it with my handsome husband."

Ryan nodded and opening his menu, he looked to see what was appealing. He decided on a simple pasta dish for himself and then looking to Lisianthus, he asked,

"Have you decided? I'll call for the waiter when you're ready."

William nodded and replied,

"Sounds great. Let's go."

He held Stacey's arm and led the way out of the hut. He began walking with her under the moonlight, enjoying the beautiful atmosphere and his wife's company.

Lisianthus nodded and chose a simple dish for herself as well. The waiter soon arrived and took their orders, then bowed and left.

Lisianthus turned to Ryan and with a smile, she said,

"I hope you are enjoying the day so far."

Stacey walked outside with William, enjoying the nighttime atmosphere. She looked to him and asked,

"How is the construction for the new orphanage going?"

Ryan nodded happily and replied, "Yup, I definitely am. Since I've been here with you, every day has been wonderful. I couldn't have asked for anything more."

He touched Lisianthus' hand and smiled softly at her.

William turned to Stacey and with a smile, he replied,

"It's going wonderfully. All the workers are working hard on the project and everything is going smoothly. I think it's going to be done in time, if things continue to be this good."

Lisianthus smiled back and touching Ryan's hand with her own, she replied,

"I'm happy to hear that. Every day has been great for me, too, ever since you came. Thanks for making me so happy, Ryan. You're the best."

Stacey looked happy and nodding, she replied,

"I'm happy to hear that. I know you and everyone are working so hard and I'm sure the children will love it."

Ryan replied softly, "And thank you for being there for me. I can say for sure that you are the first true friend that I've had. It's been a lonely life for me before, even when I was around Bryan and Rosaline. I kind of felt like the odd person out, you know? But I don't feel that way with you."

William nodded and loved seeing the happy look on Stacey's face. Replying, he said,

"I hope so. We're doing our best to make sure that the orphanage is one of the best and of course, the children will love Lady Stacey for it later."

Lisianthus looked a little confused and replying, she said, "I feel the same way, too, Ryan, but...how are you feeling lonely with Bryan and Rosaline? If I may ask, that is. I mean, Bryan is your brother and all and Rosaline..."

She remembered how much Ryan loved Rosaline and for some reason, it bothered her a little, almost as though she were jealous. But quickly shaking the thought away, she continued,

"I mean, both of them like you so much so I am a little confused by what you mean and all."

Stacey blushed shyly and replied, "Aww, thanks, handsome. The children will thank you and the other workers as well. I want to give everyone credit where it's due. And oh yeah, I had a chance to talk to Ms. Laura the other day and she definitely wants to take over running the new orphanage when it's ready."

Ryan replied, "Well, umm, you know, there are times that Bryan and Rosaline would be alone by themselves. I mean, it makes sense since they're married but it made me felt left out. That's what I meant. But I don't feel that way with you. I like that it's just the two of us here right now."

(BTW, I'm sorry for not having posted a new chapter for my fanfic. Kind of silly but I'm trying to finish Habitat Rescue-yup, it's a game lol-and unfortunately, it's not one of those that you can put down and play another day. It's one of those population type games and if you don't check daily, kind of messes up the quests. At least I'm almost done. XD)
