Avi shook his head and replied, "No idea. I could imagine some soldiers leaving the chancellor to go to Sia's side but someone against them both? That's new. Maybe it's a group of soldiers who decided to take things for their own but I can't guess who."

Lisianthus was surprised as Ryan cast a spell to knock the sword out of her hand and didn't get a chance to dodge it, so it was knocked away. However, she wasn't giving up yet and tried to get another hold of it.

Alex nodded and replied, "Yeah, that could be a possibility. There might be some soldiers who are tired of the fighting between Sia and the chancellor and they decided to take matters into their own hands. But to go so far as to kidnap Lycoris..."

He clenched his fists, still feeling a little angry that Lycoris' life had been endangered.

Ryan saw that Lisianthus' sword was knocked away and quickly before she could grab it, he cast another spell to transport the sword towards him so that Lisianthus would be disarmed completely.

Nerine noticed how angry Alex became as he remembered how Lycoris was kidnapped and was feeling annoyed although she didn't say anything. Avi nodded in agreement and replied,

"Yeah, that was pretty cruel of them. Lycoris pretty much has nothing to do with this and to endanger her life just for her powers like that, those soldiers must be total jerks."

Lisianthus saw that Ryan was transporting her sword towards him and quickly cast a minor spell of her own to re-summon it to her, trying to pull it away from Ryan.

Alex nodded and replied, "I agree. If I meet with that jerk again, he'll get what's coming to him. I don't like anyone who attacks defenseless, innocent women."

(Ahh can Lisianthus perform spells other than the healing ones? XD)

Ryan noticed that Lisianthus had cast a spell to pull the sword back to her so he made his spell stronger so the sword would go towards him.

Avi nodded in agreement and replied, "It's cowardly of them. I wish I were outside as well to help protect her from any danger."

He sighed and asked Alex, "How is she now? She must have been quite scared after what happened."

(Ahh only minor ones to do with her weapon, like summoning it or making it disappearing, but nothing else. XD)

Lisianthus couldn't keep up with Ryan's spell and had to let go of her sword. She smirked to Ryan and said,

"Admirable, cutie, but I am not giving up yet. You'll have to paralyze me completely before you consider yourself a winner."

Alex nodded and replied, "Yeah, Lycoris is quite shaken up. I can tell despite her attempts to remain calm after what happened. I don't understand why she refuses help. It isn't a bad thing to accept help, especially when it comes to preserving one's life."

Ryan looked slyly at Lisianthus, now having obtained her sword, and replied,

"Oh really? That gives me an idea."

Closing his eyes, he cast a freeze spell on Lisianthus but made it a minor one so she wouldn't feel too cold.

Avi sighed and replied, "I have a feeling she might be trying to protect us or something, or maybe she just doesn't want to feel as though she's a burden to us. But she's not a burden and I doubt anyone of us would be happy if she's hurt."

Lisianthus groaned quietly to herself as Ryan froze her in place but she wasn't giving up yet. She knew that Ryan wouldn't be able to keep up the spell forever and she planned to keep steady, keeping a determined look in her eyes.

Alex nodded and replied, "Yeah. Well, I can sort of understand why Lycoris thinks this way but I've never thought of her as a burden and I don't think you do, either. When I asked Rosaline to be her bodyguard, Rosaline was happy to take on the role."

Ryan tried to keep the freeze spell up for as long as he could but eventually, he began to tire out and he finally had to let go of it. However, he still kept hold of Lisianthus' sword in case he needed to make a quick attack.

Rosaline nodded in confirmation and replied, "Definitely. Lycoris is a pretty nice girl and anyhow, I don't think an innocent woman should be hurt like that."

Avi replied, "We should try convincing her tomorrow to stop being so stubborn and let us take care of things. She should know that she isn't troubling us."

Lisianthus took a deep breath after Ryan let go of the freeze spell as she was feeling tired and a little cold, too. But she was determined to win this so after taking a few quick breathes, she charged at Ryan once more with her body, wanting to grab the sword away from him once more.

Meanwhile, the soldiers were cheering and rooting for both of them, as the battle was heated and exciting.

Alex nodded and replied, "Definitely. She was ok when I mentioned asking the chancellor for soldiers to guard her although I feel better if Rosaline was to look after her."

He turned to Rosaline and said, "Would you be ok looking after Lycoris? You don't have to tell her that you're her bodyguard-just watching out for her. I'll have to talk to the chancellor tonight before I turn in."

Ryan saw Lisianthus charging towards him and quickly, he dodged to the side so he'd be out of the way. He was getting a little tired from the training but was determined to win, holding on to the sword.

Rosaline nodded and replied, "Of course. It would be no trouble at all, Alex. If you want, I can try talking to her, too, to convince her to let me watch out for her."

Lisianthus was getting tired, too, so she wasn't as quick as before, but she charged once more at Ryan but as she did, she suddenly tried to cast a spell to summon her sword back, wanting to surprise Ryan with it.

Alex nodded and replied, "I'd like that. Thank you. Perhaps the more people who talk to Lycoris and tell her that she isn't a burden, the more she's willing to believe it and to let us help her."

Bryan replied, "I wish there was something I could do to help, too, but she certainly isn't a burden."

Ryan was surprised as Lisianthus cast a spell to summon her sword back and as he wasn't prepared, he let go of the sword. But quickly, he cast a spell to summon the sword back to him.

(This is kind of like a tug-of-war. XD)

Avi nodded in agreement and then, there was a knock on the door and a soldier entered the room. He said,

"Ladies and gentlemen, it's getting late. We ask you to leave the prisoners for the night and you may visit them tomorrow morning."

Lisianthus was surprised as Ryan cast a spell to summon her sword back to him but she continued to cast her spell, trying to take it back although it was difficult as Ryan was stronger than her at magic. Not wanting to waste her energy on nothing, she let go of her spell and instead charged back at Ryan to take the sword by hand.

Alex nodded to the soldier and then turning back to Avi, he said, "Guess that's our cue to go. We'll be back tomorrow morning and we'll bring Lycoris."

He got up and waited for Nerine so he would escort her.

Ryan was surprised as Lisianthus suddenly stopped her summon spell. He fell backwards and as he was getting up, he saw Lisianthus charging him and had only enough time to roll to his side to avoid the direct attack.

Nerine got up as well and said, "Good night, Bryan, Avi."

Rosaline turned to Bryan and after giving him a hug and a kiss, she said, "I'll come back tomorrow morning, my love. Sleep well, alright?"

She got up to follow the couple out of the room.

Lisianthus saw that Ryan had avoided her but as she stopped her attack suddenly, she lost balance and ended up falling on the ground by his side.

Once the party left the room, Alex turned to Nerine and Rosaline and said, "I should go talk to the chancellor before I turn in for the night. Rosaline, you can get some sleep. You must be exhausted."

He then turned to Nerine and added, "And you must be tired, too, darling. I'll return to our room right after I talk to the chancellor."

Ryan saw that Lisianthus had fallen on the ground beside him and he took that advantage by rolling towards her until his body was on top of hers. Holding her by the waist but careful not to let the sword damage her, he grinned and said,

"Looks like I win, beautiful."

Rosaline nodded and replied, "Alright. I'll see you two tomorrow morning. Good night."

She then took the puppies and left to her room. Meanwhile, Nerine nodded to Alex and replied,

"Alright. I'll go to Lycoris and help her get ready for the night meanwhile."

She planned to give Lycoris another lesson so she wouldn't think of luring Alex again to her.

Lisianthus saw Ryan had got hold of her and too tired to try to escape, she giggled and nodding, she replied,

"You win, cutie. That was the most exciting battle I've had yet though."

Alex replied, "Are you sure, darling? I could go check on Lycoris after I finish talking to the chancellor although Lycoris might have already turned in for the night. She looked pretty shaken up earlier."

Ryan grinned and replied, "Same here."

He let go of Lisianthus and got up. Then he helped Lisianthus up as well and handed back her sword. Looking slyly at her, he then said,

"Now how about my reward?"

Nerine nodded and replied, "I'll check on her anyhow and make sure she's ready for the night if she hadn't slept yet. I'll head to our room after that. See you then."

She headed to Lycoris' room without waiting for a response from Alex.

Lisianthus nodded happily and replied, "You totally deserve it."

She wrapped her arms around Ryan's neck lovingly and leaned in to give him the sweetest, most passionate kiss yet.

Alex wanted to ask Nerine to be gentle on Lycoris, considering her emotional state, but unfortunately, he didn't have a chance to do so. So the only thing he could do was head towards the chancellor's office, hoping that he hadn't turned in for the night.

Ryan wrapped his arms around Lisianthus' waist and returned the kiss with all the love and passion in his heart, enjoying his well-deserved reward for a victory.

Fortunately, the chancellor was still awake, working late on a few matters before turning in for the night. He heard a knock on the door and after he gave the permission for Alex to enter, he gestured for him to have a seat. He asked,

"How can I help you, sir?"

Lisianthus continued kissing Ryan passionately for a few more sweet moments and after the kiss was eventually broken, she gazed happily at him and said,

"I hope my reward is good enough."

Alex bowed before the chancellor and replied, "Hello, your majesty. First, I wanted to thank you for allowing us to visit Avi and Bryan for as long as we wished. Also, I wanted to drop by to discuss Lycoris' security."

Ryan gazed happily back at Lisianthus and replied, "Yup, your reward was very satisfying, beautiful. You sure are one tough fighter."

The chancellor nodded and replied

"Of course. As I offered before, sir, I could place a couple of trustworthy, old soldiers to protect the lady and more if she wishes. I've already placed my eyes on some that couldn't be possibly traitors."

Lisianthus grinned happily and replied, "And you're surely strong, cutie. I haven't had such a heated battle in a long time. There's no way the chancellor could beat us both."

Alex nodded and replied, "Yes, that would be fine. I talked to Lycoris earlier and she told me that she would be all right if there were soldiers to guard her. I just worry that there could be another kidnapping attempt on her and I don't want that to happen.

Speaking of which, has there been any news regarding the kidnapper?"

Ryan nodded happily and replied, "Same here. We'll be an unbeatable pair against that chancellor."

He continued to look happily at Lisianthus, temporarily forgetting that there was Irene and the other soldiers nearby.

The chancellor sighed and shaking his head, he replied, "Not yet. I've been following everything myself and investigating the different soldiers, but there's no outcome of this yet. You need not worry, sir. My soldiers will be sure to protect the lady this time. I'll direct them to her right away so she can spend a peaceful night."

Lisianthus nodded happily and replied, "And we should totally have another fight some other time. Maybe in front of the chancellor so he'd be scared of us, hee, hee."

Irene was watching the couple nearby with her usual amused smile, while the soldiers decided to leave and go on with their activities.
