Alex replied, "Probably but the shapeshifter sounded already annoyed that I hadn't made any progress on finding out where Lycoris is.  It certainly wouldn't hurt to try to contacting Lady Penelope, right?  At the very least, she might be able to tell us why her daughter is feeling impatient about this situation."

Nerine nodded in agreement and replied,

"Okay then. You can talk to her and understand the situation but tell her to avoid telling the shapeshifter that you contacted her if she could, ok? I mean, that shapeshifter is unexpectable when she's angry so let's try to stay on her good side for now."

Alex nodded and replied, "I agree, darling.  I'll go contact Lady Penelope now."

Closing his eyes, Alex used his telepathy to reach out to Lady Penelope and said,

My lady, it's me, Alex.  Are you free to talk right now?

As Lady Penelope received Alex's message, she was a little surprised, wondering if something happened. She replied,

Yes, I'm here, darling. What's the matter? Is everything ok?

Alex replied,

My darling and I are fine but your daughter just contacted me and I thought I should let you know.


He then told Lady Penelope of his conversation with the shapeshifter.

Lady Penelope wasn't too surprised to hear that her daughter contacted Alex for that purpose, as she knew how impatient she could be especially on this matter. Sighing to herself sadly, she replied,

I see. I'm so sorry about this, darling. You know how she can be...I'll try to talk to her sometime today and see if I can change her mind to have her wait a little more although I-I can't guarantee much success. 

Alex replied,

My lady, I would appreciate that but my darling and I believe it would be better if you didn't bring up that I brought this matter to your attention.  It might anger her further.  But if I may ask, do you know why she's being this impatient?

Lady Penelope sighed sadly as she heard Alex's question as she knew the answer although it brought sadness to her heart to think of it. But thinking that Alex had a right to know, she replied quietly,

Yes, I think I know. You have an idea about my daughter's heart condition, right, darling? Well, although she's been trying to take it easy, it seems that it's been worsening lately although she is doing her best not to show it. I-I have a feeling that she thinks she may not have much time left if you know what I mean...


Her voice faltered at the end, overwhelmed by sadness.

Alex looked saddened as well upon hearing the news and he replied,

Yes, I understand.  I thought this might be the case but is there really no way to treat your daughter's condition?

Lady Penelope took a moment to regain her composure and replied,

She refuses to talk about her condition with anyone but even though I tried convincing her to see a healer or even a doctor, she refused and insisted that she didn't want to interfere. And well, you know how stubborn she can be. 

Alex sighed sadly and replied,

I-I see.  Well, I can understand her wanting privacy but she really should look into getting her condition treated.  Maybe I can ask my parents to send our family doctor to her for a routine check up or something.

Lady Penelope thought it was a good idea and replied,

Could you do that? I mean, it would help and we don't have to tell her until the doctor is here to check on her. It would be too late to refuse then. Well, although I-I know that she's pretty unexpectable that she may refuse to have him check on her just being stubborn.


She sighed sadly to herself but quickly continued,

Don't worry about this, darling. I'll try to talk to her again about postponing taking any action of her own and don't worry, I won't tell her that you contacted me.

Alex replied,

I can definitely do that.  I can ask my parents to have our doctor check on everyone so your daughter doesn't come to the conclusion that she's being focused on.  That should work.  I'll contact them right after we're finished talking.


And I'd appreciate any efforts on your part as well.  I'll talk to Ryan, too, to see if he can talk to Sia and get any information from her.  He's probably our best bet at doing so to find out where Lycoris is.

Lady Penelope agreed that it was a good plan and she replied,

Alright, darling. I will do my best and thank you very much for your efforts to help my daughter, darling. I-I appreciate it.

Alex smiled softly and replied,

You're welcome, my lady.  Before I get off, I wanted to ask if everything is ok on your end.  Do you, your daughter, or the chancellor need anything?

Lady Penelope smiled a little to herself and replied,

Thank you, darling. Everything is fine here and it's been a peaceful time that we've spent in the humans' world. I should thank you again for letting us stay in your home although we're doing our best to take good care of it.

Alex happily replied,

Oh it's no problem at all, my lady.  I'm glad all of you have had a pleasant stay.  I hope that Mom and Dad have been checking up on you all frequently, too.

Lady Penelope replied happily,

They have and they're very pleasant people, especially your mother. She's a wonderful person and I think we're already making very good friends. 

Alex replied happily,

Oh that is wonderful to hear.  My parents love to meet new people and my mom especially loves it.  She opened up immediately to my darling.  I'm happy that your time in the human world has been wonderful.

Lady Penelope replied,

It has been wonderful, darling, despite the circumstances but the humans' world is a very beautiful world and the people here are very kind and welcoming. I had the pleasure of going to town a couple of times and I loved it.

Alex replied,

Oh that's wonderful, my lady.  How did you like the town?  I know it's quite different from Cephiron.

Lady Penelope replied happily,

It's a very beautiful town and the people here are truly pleasant. It's different from Cephiron, of course, but it has this attractive atmosphere that can make any visitor fall in love with it immediately.

Alex smiled softly and replied,

I'm glad you like it.  It's a really great place to visit and I hope your stay continues to be pleasant.


He paused and then continued,

I should contact my parents now so they can execute the plan but is everything good?  Do you need anything?

Lady Penelope replied gratefully,

No, darling. We're fine but thank you for your question. I appreciate everything you've been doing for us.

Alex replied,

You're welcome, my lady.  Please do contact me if you need anything or to update me and I'll do the same.


He then shut off the telepathy and communicated to his parents, telling them about the plan, and they agreed to go along with it.
