Romance RP

Anjela groaned as Matthew confirmed the news to her, and she was obviously not pleased. Ian looked at her and curiously asked,

"You know him?"

Anjela took a deep breath and frowning, she said, "Yeah, I do. He isn't a bad man and under other circumstances, I would have thought he was a good choice. But right now, he'll only make things harder for me."

Matthew nodded and added, "We both know him.  You probably guessed that I was familiar with him when we talked about it before.  As Anjela said, he's not a bad man but he's a bit of a complication."

He worded things in as delicate of a manner as he could.

(Getting sleepy here so I'll get off for the night now but I'll post again tomorrow and all.  Nite, nite, Love.  ^^)

(Nite, nite, phoenix. ^^ And I should give you a heads up but tomorrow will be my first day at my new job so I won't be able to post as regularly. I'll be still figuring out my schedule and all but I'll post whenever I can and for starters, Fridays and Saturdays will be off days for me so I'll be able to post regularly then. ^^)

Ian looked thoughtful and replied, "Okay. If he's not a bad man, then that means he might make a good chancellor? Where's the problem then?"

Anjela sighed and replied, "He's a human but he's one of the most powerful sorcerers I've seen. That's the problem, Ian. And he's almost always with that queen and he's in love with her so he'll protect her with everything he is. He'll only make an obstacle in my way..."

She groaned and her hands balled into fists, anger firing through her.

(Ahh ok, no problem.  ^^)

Matthew looked at Ian and added, "Well, you can probably imagine the rest, what with Anjela's goals and all."

As it looked like Ryan would always be around Lisianthus, there was no way Anjela could get near her.

Ian was silent for a moment and sighing, he said, "This only complicates things, but then it isn't like you were expecting killing the queen would be easy, Anjela?"

Anjela frowned a bit and said, "Of course not. I know it is a suicide mission, one that I won't survive. Having that human makes things harder but not impossible. I am the shapeshifter after all. Nothing will stand in my way."

Matthew felt troubled as he heard the exchange between Anjela and Ian although he didn't say anything, feeling it best to stay quiet on the subject.  Instead, he turned to Ian and asked,

"So there's no word of the captain or his soldiers?"

Ian shook his head and replied, "No, didn't hear or see any of them. I kept my eyes open since I expected them to try to return, but none showed up. Still, it's too early to let our guards down. And I placed a security spell on the house to alert me in case anyone tries to approach. I know you two aren't in a state to fight right now."

Anjela didn't say anything but just quietly sighed and seemed to space out as the two men talked of the captain, and Ian noticed, giving Matthew a silent look to change the subject, as it visibly troubled Anjela.

Matthew nodded, taking the hint, and he said,

"Well, you probably don't have much time before you get back to work, so what's for lunch today?"

Ian smiled a little and said,

"Well, I thought you two needed something special to help you recover, so I brought some magical lamb meat and shrimps. I'll make pasta with white sauce and shrimps, to have beside grilled lamb steak. I would have gotten some fish but I know you aren't exactly fond of that, Anjela."

He chuckled a bit.

Matthew couldn't help but laugh over Ian's latter comment and he added, "Yup, that's right.  I learned that from Anjela herself.  But that sounds like a wonderful lunch."

Anjela sighed and said, "I am glad you remembered that."

Ian chuckled a bit more and said, "I couldn't forget. Well, stay tuned. I am almost done."

Indeed, the food was almost cooked and he started getting out plates to plate everything.

Matthew smiled at Anjela and asked, "Is there anyone who doesn't know that you're not fond of fish?"

He guessed that Lady Penelope already knew, so she probably didn't cook it for Anjela.

(I'll be going to sleep now but I'll post again tomorrow and all.  I do have a little editing for a new VN, so I'm hoping I feel well enough tomorrow to get started on it.  Anyway, nite, Love.  ^^)

Anjela smiled a bit at Matthew and replied, "Heh, I think most people know. I really am not fond of it so I don't even try to make an effort to eat it. My mom stopped cooking it for me a long time ago, and when I was married to Dimitri, he wouldn't even ask me to make it."

Ian chuckled a bit and as he laid lunch out on the table, he commented, "You should have seen their first argument after marriage. Dimitri wanted her to make fish for them but she wouldn't even try."

Matthew laughed and replied, "I can imagine.  But as I told Anjela, I can understand.  I mean, if you look at the facial expressions of fish, it's like they're accusing you.  It can be off-putting."

Anjela nodded immediately and said, "Exactly, right? And they have this distinct smell when they are being cooked that I can't stand."

She shivered as she imagined and Ian furrowed his eyebrows, replying, "Oh come on, it isn't that bad. Fish is one of the healthiest foods, by the way. But well, right now, we have a great lunch to eat. Come on in."

He had laid everything on the table and helped Anjela and Matthew to their seats.

Matthew smiled gratefully at Ian and said, "Lunch looks wonderful.  I can't wait to taste all of this and you sure made plenty."

He was impressed by the spread of food.

Ian smiled softly and said, "Eat as much as you want. You two need to get your energy back and recover. Come on, let's eat."

He reached for his fork and started eating himself, feeling a bit hungry after a morning of work.

Matthew grinned and taking his fork, he took a bite of his food.  After swallowing, he commented,

"Mhhmm, this is wonderful.  So delicious."

Anjela reached for her fork as well and after taking a bite of her food and swallowing, she nodded and said, "No kidding, Ian. Your cooking got a lot better."

Ian grinned happily and said, "Heh, thanks, you two. I am glad you like it. Eat as much as you want, ok?"

He continued eating as did Anjela, who still needed plenty of food to recover properly.

Matthew continued to eat as well and looking at Anjela, he said, "You especially need to eat well, Anjela."

He wanted her strength to get back up.

Anjela turned to Matthew and smiling a bit, she nodded and said,

"Yeah. I need to get my strength back as soon as possible. But you need to eat well too, okay? I am worried about you."

She reached out to touch his hand and squeezed it gently.

Matthew gently squeezed Anjela's hand in return and nodding, he replied, "I will.  I need to get my strength back, too."

He continued to eat, filling his stomach with delicious food.

Anjela smiled softly at Matthew and continued eating as well. Ian had observed the couple and just smiled a bit to himself. Although it was strange seeing Anjela with another man than Dimitri, he could see how much the couple loved each other and wished they could have a happy ending together, despite all odds.

As Matthew ate, he turned to Ian and asked, "I'm curious but how long do you usually work at the shop?  Like, do you close at the usual closing hours and such?"

(Ooh yup, you're right about that. XD I just checked them out but do you have a recommendation for me on which could be the best deal? I might make use of this sale. XD)

Ian nodded and said, "Yes, that's right. I usually keep it open until around dinnertime, then I close it down and make it home. Things get a lot quieter during the evening."

Anjela then asked, "You're still by yourself, Ian? Not even a girlfriend yet?"

Ian smiled sadly and scratching the back of his head, he said, "No, not really. Haven't found the one yet."
