Romance RP

The witch was silent for a moment then shrugging, she said, 

"Okay, I suppose that's all for you. Should I summon the portal now?"

Anjela nodded and said, "I am done myself. Are you too, Matt?"

She looked to Matthew for an answer.

Lycoris nodded and quickly holding Alex's hand, she said, "Yes, let-let's go."

Rosalind frowned angrily and couldn't help but add, "Yeah, run away. I'll never forgive you for what you did to me."

She returned to Greg's side, trying to calm her anger down for her baby's sake. Meanwhile, Lycoris was starting to feel her magic acting up again, the voices returning to her mind.

Matthew nodded and replied, "I'm finished, too."

He turned to the witch and replied, "Thank you again for everything.  I wish there was a way we could talk again without going through all those obstacles."

He chuckled a bit.

Alex held Lycoris' hand and the couple started to leave.  At the last minute, he looked at Rosalind and sadly said, "I'm sorry for everything.  But it does no good to speak ill of those who are no longer in this world."

He was hinting that Nerine was no longer alive although he didn't say those words.

The witch giggled a bit then looking slyly at Matthew, she said, "You have to prove worthy to talk to me again, honey. Although you already have, very well indeed. Maybe I might make an exception next time. But you alone, ok?"

She winked at him almost flirtatiously and Anjela raised an eyebrow, annoyed.

Rosalind was taken aback by what Alex said and stepping forward, she furrowed her eyebrows and replied,

"Wait. What-what are you talking about? No longer part of this world? Are you talking about Nerine? Did she...?"

Matthew couldn't help but blush and replied, "Oh ok, I understand.  I guess we should get going then.  Thank you for everything."

Alex teared up and nodding, he replied, "Yes, she's gone.  I-I lost her.  I couldn't even say goodbye to her..."

He turned to Lycoris, gently squeezing her hand, silently needing her strength.

The witch giggled again and replied, "You're more than welcome. I'll summon the portal for you then."

She got up and twirling her finger in the air, she summoned a strong, powerful portal for them to pass through. She looked at Anjela and said, "Go in first. I want the boy alone for a moment."

Anjela raised an eyebrow and suspicious, she asked, "What for?"

The witch impatiently replied, "I won't eat him. He'll follow you in a moment."

Anjela was hesitant to go and leave Matthew behind, and looked at him, wondering if it would be wise to listen to the witch.

Lycoris was crying too and feeling Alex squeeze her hand, she squeezed it back gently and held on closely to his arm, comforting him and needing his comfort. 

Rosalind's expression immediately softened and surprised, she replied, "What-what you are saying? How did that even happen? I-I know Nerine had some health problems before she left so was it that?"

Lycoris shook her head and tearfully, quietly said, "No. She-she was killed. It-it is my fault. It was supposed to be me but she went instead."

Matthew looked at Anjela and nodding, he replied, "It'll be ok.  I won't take long."

He smiled softly at Anjela.

Alex shook his head and replied, "No, it's my fault.  I-I never should have let her go out that day.  Then that awful captain would have never captured her.  He was the one.  He was the one who killed her and our baby."

He wrapped his arms around Lycoris, unable to help crying.

Anjela was still hesitant but trusting Matthew, she looked at him and said, "Be careful, ok? I'll wait for you on the other side."

She took a breath then went into the portal, praying that Matthew would follow her soon. After she was gone, the witch looked at Matthew and smiled a bit at him. She extended her hand to him and in it was a small music box. She said, 

"Here. Let's keep this as a little secret but if you need anything and want to reach out to me, this will help. Just turn it on and make sure you're alone. I don't do this for everyone but you're a special one, boy."

Lycoris held on tightly to Alex, unable to help crying either. Rosalind actually teared up a bit although she was doing her best to remain composed, and sadly said, 

"I-I can't believe it. I...I never forgave her but I wouldn't wish such a fate on anyone. To be killed so cruelly..."

Matthew smiled back at the witch and took the music box from her.  He carefully placed it in his bag and replied,

"Thank you, miss.  I really appreciate it."

Even though the witch was mischievous, Matthew thought that maybe she wasn't so bad.

Greg nodded sadly and placing an arm around Rosalind's shoulders, he quietly said,

"That's just horrible."

Alex nodded and replied, "I-I did get a chance to say goodbye to her, though, but I still should have saved her.  I loved her so much.  I would have endured anything for her."

The witch grinned a bit and said, "You're welcome. Sorry about your heart, but I hope there are no hard feelings on that. It's how things go. But you know how to heal it, don't you? It won't be easy but you have a way out. Take care of yourself, honey."

Rosalind turned her gaze away, as perhaps she didn't need to hear Alex's love words for Nerine when their relationship originally started when Rosalind was still married to him. But she didn't say anything, just sniffing to herself and holding her tears back. Lycoris was still crying and quietly, she said,

"I-I may be protecting myself from that captain but I won't let him go. He'll pay for what he did to Nerine. He'll pay."

Matthew nodded and replied, "Thank you.  Well, I'll figure something out.  I don't go down so easily."

He smiled at the witch and bowed, preparing to leave.

Alex nodded and replied, "Yes, that's right.  He'll get exactly what's coming to him."

He wiped his tears and tried to compose himself, for both his and Lycoris' sake.

(Getting sleepy so I'll get off now but I'll post again tomorrow.  Nite, nite, Love.  ^^)

The witch nodded and smiling back at Matthew, she said, "Yeah, I can tell. Good luck, boy. Heh, heh, I truly hope I don't see you here again soon, asking me to cast the same spell Dimitri asked me to. Although I don't think you'll need it."

She winked playfully but meaningfully at him.

Rosalind looked confused at the couple and couldn't help but ask, "The captain? Who are you talking about? Is that the man who...?"

Lycoris sniffed and nodding as she did her best to calm down, she replied, "Yes...he-he is the one who killed Nerine. He wanted me but he kidnapped her then took her life away. We-we'll make him pay for that. He won't get away with it."

Matthew smiled back at the witch and replied, "Thank you for everything."

He bowed at her and then entered through the portal, wanting to catch up with Anjela back in the gods' world.

Alex nodded and replied, "Yes, that's right.  That man is so selfish, wanting to take Lycoris' powers like that.  But we won't let him get away with it.  I won't let anywhere near her and he'll regret going after Lycoris."

The portal would take Matthew back to the same spot where he and Anjela had been when they were last in the gods' world. Anjela was already there, nervously going to and fro, looking quite worried, wondering if she made a mistake leaving without Matthew.

Rosalind was silent for a moment then looking sadly at the couple, she quietly said, "I-I am sorry. I am sorry for what happened and for the terrible situation you two are currently at. Umm if there is anything we can do to help, please let us know."

Matthew successfully made it to the other side of the portal and upon seeing Anjela, he smiled at her and said,

"Hey, Anjela.  I hope I didn't keep you waiting."

Alex nodded and looking at Rosalind, he sadly replied, "Thank you."

Greg added, "Feel free to come back again if you need more potions."

Anjela felt relief wash all over her and it showed on her face. Taking a deep sigh, she approached Matthew and replied, 

"Matt. Thank goodness. I was so worried that witch was pulling a trick and wouldn't let you go. I wasn't even able to think what to do. Are you ok?"

Lycoris sniffed and calmed down on crying slightly, although she didn't say anything to Rosalind, unable to forget what she said a few minutes ago. She suddenly held on tightly to Alex in pain, however, as the voices suddenly made a comeback to her head.

Matthew nodded and smiling, he replied, "I'm fine.  She didn't do anything harmful to me.  She just wanted to talk for a bit longer but I'm back.  We should probably head back to Ryan's place."

Alex held on tightly to Lycoris for comfort and he gently asked,

"Do you want to go outside?  I think a walk in the fresh air will help."

(I'll be going to work very soon and then be out for dinner, so I'll post again when I get back.  ^^)

Anjela wondered what the witch wanted to talk to Matthew longer for, but nodding, she said, 

"Yeah, I suppose. Alex and Lycoris must be still there, as well as the others. My mom must be quite worried by now."

She took a breath, feeling quite relieved they made it back, safe and sound.

Lycoris nodded immediately and continuing to hold to Alex tightly, she quietly said to him,

"Get-get us out of here. The-the voices are back..."

(Back now.  ^^)

Matthew nodded and replied, "Yes, that must be true.  We should get back to the others as soon as we can, so they know we're ok and we made it through safely."

Inside, he was worried about the condition of his heart, that he would have to limit his healing abilities, but it seemed that he wouldn't need to use them for now.

Alex nodded and quietly replied, "You got it."

He nodded respectfully to Rosalind and Greg, and then he and Lycoris left the shop, heading back outside to the fresh air.  He then turned to Lycoris and asked,

"Angel, do you want to take a rest?  We can get some hot chocolate if you like."

(Welcome back. ^^)

Anjela nodded and said, "I'll summon the portal back to the human world. I am feeling alright now so I should be able to use magic normally."

She took a breath and as she prepared to summon a portal to the human world, she turned to Matthew and smiling softly at him, she said, "I wouldn't have made it back here if it weren't for you. You went through so much for my sake. I am forever in your debt, Matt."

Lycoris nodded although she didn't say anything, as she was trying to fight the voices in her head and push them back before they would take over.

Matthew smiled back and replied, "I'd do anything for you, Anjela, and I wouldn't have been able to bear to lose you."

He gazed at her with friendly eyes and waited as Anjela summoned the portal that would take them back to the human world.

Alex held onto Lycoris' arm and escorted her away from the magic district and towards the nearest cafe.  He hoped that Lycoris having her favorite drink would calm her down.

(Random question but I wonder if you're familiar with Idea Factory's games?  I took a look at a few of them and the system requirements seem pretty high, so I was wondering if those requirements were accurate or if IF exaggerated them.  I know some publishers inflate system requirements, as some games can run on lower comp specs.)

(Ahh I know that a lot of their games are role-playing games with good graphics so yeah, I think the system requirements might be true. I am not into this type of games however so I never really tried any of them. The one I tried is Amnesia but it's the usual type of VN so the requirements are normal.)

Anjela smiled back at Matthew and soon, she was all done summoning the portal to take them back right in front of Ryan's house. Before she walked in, however, she summoned her cloak around herself once more. She said,

"Heh, back to using this. The portal is ready. It'll take us back to Ryan's place."

Lycoris held on closely to Alex as they walked towards the nearest cafe, trying to calm herself down and keep herself as close as possible to Alex, fighting back the voices.

(Ahh ok.  I asked because I was considering trying out one or two of their games.  There's a Fanatical sale going on and since I just got paid for my latest batch of editing work, I can afford it.  Of course, my comp can run those games so it's not an issue.  But I think I'll hold off on buying games until next week.  There are 2 games I definitely want that will be out next week and maybe 1 more although I'm not sure if I'll get it yet.  ^^)

Matthew nodded and replied, "Yup, let's go."

He smiled at Anjela and added, "You know, despite how dangerous this all was, I'm glad that we went through this journey together."

Alex and Lycoris continued to walk and soon, they made it to the nearest cafe.  There were some customers inside and Alex and Lycoris could seat themselves.  Alex then waved for a waiter and asked for two hot chocolates right away, and the waiter jotted down the order and went to the counter to have the drinks made.

(Yup, I understand. XD I saw the sale on Fanatical and the ones I might consider getting would be the Hakuoki VNs. These look interesting although the reviews on them are confusing. Some say they're pretty good while others say they're boring. XD And considering my bad experience with Amnesia, I am not sure what to follow. XD)

Anjela smiled softly at Matthew underneath her hood and warmly replied,

"Me too, Matt. Out of all this, I think I came out with a pretty reliable friend who I can trust to have my back and understand me when no one else does. I hope you can consider me the same."

Lycoris remained silent although she reached out to hold Alex's hands in her own, squeezing them gently and asking him for support.

(lol  I see. Yeah, I totally understand.  I actually have both Hakuoki games although at a steep discount, which was the main reason I got them.  XD)

Matthew nodded happily and replied, "Of course."

He had done more for Anjela although he wasn't sure if or when he would mention it.

Alex gently squeezed back Lycoris' hand and gently said,

"It's going to be ok, my Lycoris.  We'll get some hot chocolate and you can relax here."

The waiter came back a few minutes later, placing two mugs of steaming hot chocolate topped with whipped cream and marshmallows.  After the waiter left, Alex said,

"Here are our hot chocolates.  They smell wonderful."

(I see. XD I'll see if I'll get them sometime then. XD)

Anjela smiled softly at Matthew then said, "Let's go then."

She led the way into the portal, taking them back to the human world, right in front of Ryan's place.

Lycoris nodded slowly although for the first time, she didn't seem to care much about the hot chocolate, too disturbed by the mess in her head to care. Still, she tried to reach out to her mug and calm down enough to drink, hoping that it would calm down soon.
