(Ahh I see. XD I like seeing action movies too although sci-fi ones don't entertain me too much. Big Hero 6 is a good approach on action though so maybe you should check it out sometime and all. XD)

Lady Penelope asked slowly,

Do you think he could persuade my daughter to say anything, reveal where we hide?

The shapeshifter could see that Ryan talked genuinely, and raising an eyebrow, she replied,

"So...you mean to tell me that Lycoris wants to give up her powers because of how things are so stranded between you two now? She lost hope to fix things between you two and this is her way of running away?"

(Ahh ok.  XD)

Alex replied,

I'm not sure.  He can be persuasive but your daughter can be stubborn so I doubt he could get her to tell so easily.

Ryan nodded and quietly replied, "Yes, this is what I think.  She doesn't want anything to do with me and I can't blame her.  She wants me to hate her other self but I couldn't do that because I created her.  This-this is all my fault."

The chancellor said,

We can only wait and see. There's nothing we can do until Ryan and the queen leave.

The shapeshifter looked at Ryan without saying anything for a few moments before taking a breath. She tiredly asked,

"Well, I don't know what you want from me now. The only information I can reveal is where they are, and you already know that. I don't even understand what you want to do; get Lycoris back and try to resolve things with her, or just leave her be. You're pretty conflicted and you're confusing me with you. What do you want?"

Alex replied,

True.  We have no choice but to be patient.

Ryan replied, "I want Lycoris back here so I can resolve things with her.  If-if she's so determined to still sacrifice her powers, I would be wrong to stop her.  But if that miracle can happen, I would take that chance with her."

He looked sadly at the shapeshifter and asked, "Does Lycoris truly hate me?  Does she no longer love me?"

(I suppose we can wait on Alex and the others until there's something they can do? XD)

The shapeshifter sighed and replied,

"I don't know. I am not close enough to her to tell you that. But there was a time when just mentioning your name made her looked pretty saddened. I don't think she hates you. If she did hate you, she wouldn't have been feeling so hurt at the moment. That said, she looks quite happy around Alex but I don't know if those are rekindling feelings or what."

(Sure, that's fine with me.  XD)

Ryan replied, "I see.  Is-is it possible that Lycoris loves Alex more than me?  Could he help in that miracle you mentioned?"

As Ryan loved Lycoris very much still, he was willing to do what he could to keep her alive, even if that meant being apart from her.

The shapeshifter shrugged and replied,

"I don't know. I can't tell you how Lycoris feels towards him but I can say that he loves her very much still. How she feels towards either of you, however, is a mystery to me."

Ryan looked disappointed and nodding, he replied, "I see."

Wondering what to do now, he said, "I don't know what to do.  I would like to release you but Sia will never allow that.  I could just tell her that I got the information but then Lycoris will never forgive me."

It was as though Ryan was voicing his own thoughts out loud.

The shapeshifter raised an eyebrow, but then sighed and said,

"She won't release me anyways even if she got the information so don't bother about that. As for Lycoris, talk to her if you wish but she has to give up her powers in the end. To restore the devils' world, regardless of anything."

Ryan replied, "So there really isn't another way to save the devils' world?  I'm sure that Sia wants to help but we don't want Lycoris to be hurt.  There are so many people who care about her and want her around."

The shapeshifter frowned a little and replied more firmly,

"There's no other way, but that true love one and I can't depend on it. Listen, human. Just because I'm here now and vulnerable doesn't mean that I'm giving up. There are others out there who will continue to fight until Lycoris gives up her powers to the devils' world, willingly or not."

By others, she meant Alex and Lady Penelope, and perhaps Lycoris herself.

Ryan looked sadly at the shapeshifter and replied, "So you're willing to just stay here?  You don't wish to escape or at least ask me to help you?"

He was surprised at how resigned the shapeshifter seemed to be to her fate.

The shapeshifter raised her eyebrows and replied,

"Ask you to help me? I don't think I trust you enough to do that, nor do I believe that you like me enough to do that. As for escaping, I'd like to but your queen isn't giving me a chance."

She shook her wrists, indicating the chains so tightly binding her and her tired eyes were more than enough to say it all.

Ryan sighed and replied, "Then tell me what I can do for you.  If I can make things even a little easier for you, I'll try my best.  But as I'm not king yet, I don't have too much power here."

The shapeshifter shook her head slowly and after a few moments of silence, she quietly said,

"Don't tell her where Lycoris and Alex are. If I will ask you for something, that's what I ask for. If that terrible queen finds out about their location, she'll force them to come here even if they don't want it. If you want to fix things up with Lycoris, you can go to her secretly or something."

Ryan nodded and replied, "Ok, I understand but she'll hurt you if I tell her that I couldn't get any information from you.  I can't bear to see you hurt.  But perhaps I can ask her to delay any more punishment until I can think of something."

The shapeshifter scoffed and replied, "You can't bear to see me hurt? What's with all the gentleness all of a sudden, human? We're enemies no matter what; don't act so nicely."

She paused then a little more seriously, she said,

"Don't believe her if she says that she'll let me go if I do tell her the information. She wouldn't have let me go anyways. Don't you get it? That queen doesn't forgive, doesn't have compassion in her heart. Not that I need her pity, just letting you know. No one comes out from under her hands alive."

Ryan furrowed his eyebrows and replied, "It seems that you know quite a bit about Sia and I can't help but ask how."

He was curious as to whether the shapeshifter had some sort of past relating to Lisianthus.

The shapeshifter smirked and replied,

"You'll know one day. But if I don't live to that day, if my life is bound to end at that queen's hands all the same, come see me before it and I'll let you know."

She spoke calmly but her eyes were full of hatred and anger whenever she mentioned Lisianthus.

Ryan replied, "I see."

He got up and said, "I should go and tell Sia that I couldn't find out anything but then you'll know what'll happen afterwards.  I'll try to persuade her to hold off on hurting you, at least until tomorrow.  I wish I could change the way she handles these matters but she thinks that being tough is always the answer."

The shapeshifter felt relieved as Ryan decided to go for now, and leaning her head on the wall behind her, she suddenly looked pretty weak and tired, even sleepy, as though she put down the mask of toughness she was putting up. She quietly said,

"Yeah, do so. She should wait until tomorrow at least if she needs me alive for a little longer."

Ryan nodded and replied, "All right.  I'll do my best to persuade her to hold off on questioning you until tomorrow then."

He observed the shapeshifter for a minute but unable to think of anything else, he left the room, looking for Lisianthus.

After Ryan left, the shapeshifter took a deep breath and closed her eyes, doing her best to remain conscious despite how weak she felt. She had a feeling Lisianthus will return and she mentally prepared herself.

Meanwhile, Lisianthus saw Ryan going out of the cell and with a little impatience, she asked,

"Well? Did things work out? Did she finally say anything?"

Ryan shook his head and sadly replied, "No, although I questioned her and pushed her to tell me."

He paused and added, "She's pretty weak from the interrogation so how about we question her first thing tomorrow?  We need her alive, after all."

Lisianthus wasn't very surprised, as she did expect that Ryan's gentle ways of doing things wouldn't work out. Frowning, she said,

"We can't waste more time, Ryan. Who knows how Alex and Lycoris are at the moment? We can't keep them waiting for so long. We need to get out the information from her or at least contact Lady Penelope and threaten her."
