Romance RP

Ryan nodded and replied, "I suppose that makes sense but if that's what Nerine's afraid of, her fears are pretty unfounded.  I mean-I haven't seen Alex and Lycoris being romantic together publicly.  If anything, it looks like they're trying to keep a safe distance from each other for Nerine's sake."

Lisianthus nodded in agreement and replied, "I know but that's what you and I believe. Nerine wouldn't buy that. She probably thinks that Lycoris is always plotting from behind her back and that she's looking for any chance to take Alex back. And having her eyesight back would her help her do that. I think, at least, that's what going around in Nerine's head."

Irene nodded and replied,

"But would Lycoris really listen to Nerine and not work on getting her eyesight back just for her sake? I know that she loves her sister so but I wouldn't think it could go that far."

Ryan sighed sadly and replied, "It is quite possible.  We have to remember that for most of her life, Lycoris was in Nerine's body and she rarely came out.  It wouldn't surprise me if Nerine has that much influence over her.

I taught Lycoris that spell because I hoped it would help her to be able to learn even more magic.  I wanted to give her books so she could read them on her own time and such."

Irene nodded in understanding and replied,

"I see. And it would be good for her anyhow, to get her ability to see again, even if for a while every day."

Lisianthus looked worriedly at Irene and asked, "What do we do, Irene? We want to help her but we can't think of much and we don't have any proof against Nerine. And of course, we don't want Alex to know anything."

Irene replied, "I see. So letting Alex know about anything is not an option, huh?"

Ryan shook his head and replied, "I'm afraid not.  We could tell Alex but that would only cause problems between him and Nerine.  They're starting to fix their relationship and if we tell them this news, it would only make things difficult between them.  And besides, I get the feeling that Alex is blind when it comes to how things truly are between Nerine and Lycoris."

Lisianthus nodded and replied, "Ryan is right there. Alex wouldn't believe that Nerine would do anything to hurt Lycoris and even if he would, we couldn't tell him. We don't want to complicate things between them again."

Irene looked thoughtful and replied,

"Well, if that's the case, I'm afraid all we could do would be to try to keep Nerine away from Lycoris, and to have Lycoris know that so she wouldn't be afraid of going on with the spell to get her eyesight back. But we can't much other than that, or else Alex might know."

Ryan sighed and replied, "I suppose.  We could tell Lycoris that we figured out what happened and that she doesn't need to be afraid of Nerine.  And we've tried to keep Nerine and Lycoris apart but Nerine keeps figuring out a way to get to Lycoris.  

This is such a complicated problem and it doesn't help that Lycoris keeps pushing people away.  I saw how she was with Avi earlier."

Irene nodded and replied, "I noticed it too. I don't understand. Those two used to be quite close and spent their time always together. But Lycoris avoids even him now."

Lisianthus sighed and replied, "She's pushing everyone away, not just Avi. She does seem to be opening up a little to Ryan, though."

Ryan smiled a little and replied, "That's true.  It helps that I'm teaching her magic.  I guess I'll continue trying my best to get her to open up and feel comfortable talking with me."

He turned to Duchess Irene and added, "I know how busy you must be but it might help as well if you could spend time with Lycoris?  I think she needs a motherly figure in her life."

Irene nodded and replied,

"I will do my best to try to reach to her and help her. She's a good girl and deserves all help she could get. I hope she would just let me in. I'm afraid that she pushes me away as she pushes away all others."

Ryan nodded and replied, "I guess that's all we can do for now.  I hope that in time, Lycoris can feel comfortable trusting us rather than feel like she has to be alone in everything.  There are a lot of people who do care about her and I hope she can come to realize that."

Lisianthus replied, "Ryan is right. Lycoris is such a sweet, gentle girl and doesn't deserve to feel alone, like she has to bear everything into herself."

Irene replied, "I'll do my best and Ryan, you too, try to reach to her as much as you can. I've seen that she's coming to trust you and that's a good beginning."

(It's an off day for me today and tomorrow, too, so we'll be able to RP for a good while. ^^)

Ryan nodded and replied, "I'll do my best."

He then remembered something and asked, "Oh, were you able to contact Lady Penelope?  I brought up the topic earlier because I'm hoping that she can take some time to teach Lycoris light magic spells.  I'm poor in that area so I'm hoping Lady Penelope can help in that aspect."

Irene nodded and replied,

"I met her today in the academy and I mentioned you to her. She was very interested in meeting you but she won't be able to do so tomorrow as she's busy and all. But she said you're welcome to come at anytime in the morning the day after and she'll be more than pleased to receive you."

Ryan smiled and replied, "Oh that's wonderful.  I very much would like to meet her.  Do you think it would be too much trouble if I brought Lycoris as well?  It'd be great for the two of them to meet, at least."

He turned to Lisianthus and added, "I know that captain is still out there but I'll protect Lycoris.  He won't get near her."

Lisianthus smiled and replied, "I trust you, cutie, although I am afraid for your safety as well."

Irene replied, "It wouldn't be trouble at all. Penelope loves taking in new students and especially talented ones. You said that Lycoris is a very good student, right?"

Ryan nodded and replied, "Yes, Lycoris is an excellent student.  She's been able to pick up on spells very quickly, especially since she's just beginning.  I believe she could become a very powerful sorceress, more powerful than me."

He turned to Lisianthus and added, "Don't worry about me, beautiful.  I know that captain is dangerous but he hasn't seen me at full strength yet."

Lisianthus smiled at Ryan and Irene nodded, replying,

"That's good to hear. You should definitely take her to Lady Penelope and she'll be more than pleased to receive you two. Lycoris would learn a lot from her."

Ryan replied, "I agree."

He looked to Lisianthus and asked, "Is there anything else we need to discuss?  We should try to see Lycoris and Avi as well this evening, if we can."

Lisianthus shook her head and replied, "No, I believe that's all."

She did need to discuss another matter with Ryan but she needed to be alone with him to talk about it. She continued,

"Hopefully, Avi and Lycoris would be still awake but we should get up and get going so we can catch them before they head to bed."

Ryan nodded and replied, "All right."

He turned to Duchess Irene and said, "Thank you for listening to us, Duchess Irene.  We really appreciate your counsel through all of this."

Irene smiled and replied, "No need to thank me for anything. You know I'll be always here for you and in case you need anything else, you know where to find me."

Ryan smiled and replied, "Thank you, Duchess Irene.  We'll talk to you again about this if we need to."

He then turned to Lisianthus and asked, "Ready to go, beautiful?  We should catch Lycoris and Avi before they head off to bed."

Lisianthus nodded and replied, "We should go."

She turned to Irene and said, "Thanks for everything, Irene. We'll go now and good night. See you tomorrow."

Irene replied, "Good night, you two. Have a peaceful time."

Lisianthus then led the way out and once outside, she said, "Should we head to Lycoris or Avi first?"

Ryan looked thoughtful and replied, "Perhaps we should see Lycoris first or do you think it's better if we split up?  I could talk to Lycoris while you talk to Avi.  I don't know which idea would be better, though."
