Romance RP

Lisianthus was surprised as she heard what Alex said and replied,

"What?! There is no one inside? Are you sure? But-but we're almost sure they are here. How could this be?!"

Lady Penelope shook her head and replied, "There's nothing. We should go."

The captain smiled warmly at Helena and replied,

"I am sure she would. She is a very warm girl and gets along with people quite quickly. And if she finds that her daddy likes someone so much, she'll love them as well."

He winked at her, his expression overall being a lot warmer and kinder at the mention of his daughter.

Alex replied, "Yeah, we should leave.  We must have gotten some misinformation."

He gave Lisianthus a quick look that meant that he had more to tell her and the others but that they needed to get away from the soldiers first.

Helena blushed and replied, "I can't wait to meet her.  She sounds like such a lovely, sweet girl."

Lisianthus saw Alex's look and understanding, she looked at the soldiers and angrily said,

"You may have gotten away with it this time. But we will find your captain and you all will pay for your treason."

She waited for Alex and Lady Penelope to make it back to them and led the way carefully out of the cave, not letting her guard down for a moment.

The captain nodded and replied, "She is. You'll love her and I am sure she'll love you all the same."

His looks looked hopeful and his eyes gazed at the tombstone in the corner of the gardens.

Alex and Lady Penelope left the cave and safely returned to the others.  He then said,

"Let's get out of here."

Ryan replied, "Yeah, no point in staying here."

Helena turned her eyes to the tombstone as well and gently asked, "Who's buried here?  If I'm not being too insensitive?"

Lisianthus nodded and the party carefully went out of the cave without letting their guard, in case the soldiers tried anything funny. Fortunately, they didn't, as they didn't want to engage in a fight.

Once they were outside, they walked a safe distance away until they were out of sight and earshot. Lisianthus turned to look at Lady Penelope and Alex and asked,

"Did you find anything useful in there?"

The captain replied sadly, "Ilya. I refused to have her buried away from me. Until the time comes when she awake and well again, she won't go anywhere far."

Alex nodded and replied, "Yes, my darling's earring.  It proves that she and Helena were there.  We must have just missed them."

Helena reached out to gently squeeze the captain's hand and replied,

"You'll have her back.  She'll be happy, smiling, and you'll get to hold her again."

Lisianthus' eyes widened in surprise then frowning angrily, she said,

"That captain. He must have known somehow that we were coming. But how? We found the hideout by chance. Who could have warned him?!"

The captain squeezed Helena's hand back and frowning in determination, he replied,

"Of course I will. I will stop at nothing until she is back and she can enjoy life to the fullest again."

Just then, he received a telepathic message from the soldiers' leader. He told him of what happened exactly and how the others left without finding anything, or so he thought. The captain told him to remain in place, and he would let him know what he should do next soon.

He turned to Helena and said, "Your friends found our previous hideout but they were too late."

Alex thought about it and then coming to a realization, he said,

"Wait, that Duke Collins, he must have warned him.  That's the only thing I can think of."

Ryan angrily replied, "That Duke is such a slimeball.  No one can blame Lycoris for rejecting him."

Helena nodded and looking relieved, she replied, "We left in time.  That's good.  I guess that warning you got earlier helped."

Lisianthus growled angrily and clenching her hands into fists, she angrily said,

"That moron. I'll make him pay for what he did. I'll make him regret the day he ever decided to work with that captain."

She took a breath and trying to be calmer, she said, "Now what? We have no idea where the captain may have headed to."

The captain nodded and replied, "Yes and now they can't trace us. No one knows about this place, not even the soldiers we left behind."

He paused then said, "They don't seem to be planning to hand over the girl. I wonder if that Alex cares about his wife's fate after all."

Alex replied, "Yeah.  I communicated with Helena although she didn't give me much.  She just said that we have to talk to the shapeshifter.  If I recall correctly, she did work for him at one point so maybe she has an idea where he is?"

Helena furrowed her eyebrows and replied, "He's probably trying rescue attempts first.  But there might be another way although it's a bit of a gamble."

Lady Penelope furrowed her eyebrows and replied,

"If my daughter had any idea where the captain is, she would have told us right away. But unless she's hiding anything from me, she hasn't even communicated with him in a long time."

Lisianthus rolled her eyes and replied, "Yeah, right, like your daughter is to be trusted in the first place. Who knows if she is not secretly working for him or something?"

The captain frowned and looking at Helena, he asked,

"What other way?"

Alex replied, "I really doubt that.  But maybe she knows of possible places where the captain could hide?  Like his home, perhaps?"

Helena turned to the captain and replied, "I've talked to Lycoris a couple of times so I have an idea of what she's like.  You've used threats on her in the past and so she's only gotten scared.  But what if you were to tell her the truth?  What if you were to tell her why you really need her powers?  She's a bleeding heart.  If anything, she would be persuaded to help you, especially if it's for the sake of a child."

Lady Penelope frowned at Lisianthus as she heard her comment but turning her attention to Alex, she said,

"The captain isn't that talkative and he's very secretive from what I've seen. My daughter dealt with him more directly than I did so, though, if you wish to talk to her for more information, you can do so but I doubt she will be that helpful."

The captain frowned and immediately replied,

"Of course not. Forget that idea. I am not going to beg her for help or ask for her pity. I want her powers and I'll take them, whether she gives them up willingly or not."

Alex replied, "Ok.  Then I should go talk to her."

Ryan added, "You'll need to pass through the barrier and talk to her directly if you want to do that.  I mean, the barrier around my place.  It not only camouflages and all that, it prevents telepathic communication from the outside world.  It is meant to be the ultimate fortress."

Helena sighed and replied, "All right but we have this human saying.  You can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar, so I thought that being sweet to Lycoris would have more of a positive effect.  But it's up to you.  You do what you feel is best."

The chancellor couldn't help but comment, "That's pretty impressive."

Lady Penelope then said, "Then that means we need to go back to the humans' world. We can all talk there, I suppose, and think of what to do next."

The captain was momentarily silent, as though he was thinking over what Helena suggested. But he shrugged off the idea quickly and turning to her, he said,

"Aren't you tired? It's getting late. I should show you to your room."

Alex nodded and replied, "Yes, I think that's a good idea."

Ryan added, "I agree.  There's no point in staying here for now."

As though on cue, Helena yawned a bit and looking embarrassed, she replied,

"I am.  I suppose I should try to get some sleep.  It's been an exciting day, to say the least."

Although Lisianthus didn't think the shapeshifter would help much, or at all, she couldn't suggest anything better so she said,

"Alright. Let's go back. I'll summon the portal."

She took a deep breath and casting a few spells, the portal to the humans' world appeared before them, ready to take them to the forests near Devenshire.

The captain smiled a bit and nodding, he said, "Let me show my beautiful to her room then."

He led the way back into the mansion.

Once the portal summoned, Ryan said, "Ok, let's head back."

Alex nodded and then the party entered the portal, heading back to the human world near Devenshire.

Helena happily followed the captain as they headed back inside and she would be shown to her room.  She commented,

"A part of me is still finding it hard to believe that everything today happened but I wouldn't trade it for anything."

She smiled sweetly at the captain.

The party headed through the portal, and soon they all arrived in the forests near Devenshire. Lisianthus then turned to Ryan and said,

"Lead the way back to your home, cutie. Lycoris and Matthew are probably waiting for us although I was hoping to bring them better news."

The captain gave Helena a small smile although he didn't say anything until they went inside and he led the way upstairs to one of the guest rooms. He opened the door to it and inside, it was a grand suite with all comfortable and luxurious accommodations. The room also had a beautiful balcony looking over the gardens at the back.

The captain said, "Here you are, my beautiful lady. Please feel at home. There is a bell near the bed that you can ring in case you need anything and one of the maids will come to your assistance right away. The closet has plenty of dresses and clothes as well so I suppose you won't find anything missing in that regard."

Ryan nodded and as he led the party back to his home, he replied,

"I'd hoped to bring them better news, too.  Well, things are only delayed.  It'll just take longer to get them back."

Helena smiled and replied, "Thank you.  This is more than enough.  I feel like a princess here."

She blushed and her eyes were full of love and warmth as she gazed into the captain's eyes.

Lisianthus sighed and Lady Penelope commented, "I don't want to sound pessimistic but we don't even have any clues to where the captain might be. It would have helped if we had any lead to follow but right now, we don't."

The chancellor said, "We'll figure something out. We just need to think things thoroughly."

(Ahh I'll start calling the captain by his name. It's becoming strange calling him 'the captain' all the time. XD)

Nathan approached Helena and reaching out, he cupped her chin gently and gazing in her eyes warmly, he gently said,

"You're my princess. As long as you are close to me, I'll make you the happiest lady in the world."

He leaned in for a sweet kiss on the lips.

Ryan nodded and replied, "Yup, that's right.  We'll be able to figure things out."

The party arrived at Ryan's place and then Ryan cast a spell to open up a little of the barrier for the party to pass through.

Helena happily returned the kiss and wrapped her arms around Nathan's neck, enjoying the moment, wondering if today was a dream.

Meanwhile, inside Ryan's place, Lycoris and Matthew were sitting quietly, waiting for any news from the party. As Ryan opened the barrier and the party walked inside, Lycoris could her the footsteps coming from outside and turning to Matthew, she said,

"They're back. I hear someone outside. I hope Nerine is with them."

Nathan continued kissing Helena happily for a few more sweet moments before it was eventually broken. He said,

"Good night, beautiful one. I'll wait for you in the morning at breakfast."

He gently stroked her hair one time before he took his leave, heading to his room for the night.

Matthew nodded and replied, "Yes, I hope so, too.  Let's go greet them."

Matthew and Lycoris got up and approached Alex and the others.  Matthew asked,

"What happened?  How did things go?"

Ryan sighed and replied, "I wish we had better news."

After Nathan left, Helena closed the door and took the time to take in her surroundings.  So many things happened today and she didn't know what to make of them.  Of course, she was worried about Nerine and she still wanted to find a way to get her out, but she felt conflicted at the same time.  Helena could certainly understand Nathan wanting to get his daughter back but to sacrifice Lycoris to do so.  Trading one life for another.  She was trying to figure out what to do.

Lycoris looked disappointed and asked, "What do you mean? You couldn't find Nerine or Helena?"

Lisianthus sighed and shaking her head, she said, "That Duke Collins must have warned him. We were too late. We did find his hideout but the captain had already taken Nerine and Helena away and left."

Nathan retired to his room as well and thought over the situation. He had Nerine between his hands and his location was completely unknown to the others. However, he knew that Helena could describe it to them if anyone tried to contact her and he didn't know what to think. Part of him wanted to place his faith in her as he truly took a great liking to her, but in the same time, he feared that he was taking a big risk, for she could betray him easily if she wished it.
