Romance RP

(I added to my previous post since I forgot Alex's part.  lol)

Matthew sounded sad as he replied, "I love both of you.  I do, but I can't let you die.  We'll find another way.  Just give it a bit of time."

(No problem. XD)

Lycoris gritted her teeth in frustration as she wasn't going anywhere with this conversation with Matthew. She could only think of one idea and clenching her hands in fists, she quietly said,

"Matthew, if you don't let me go, I'll kill myself anyways."

The shapeshifter raised an eyebrow and shrugging, she said,

"I don't know, just thought something seemed off. But maybe I am overthinking."

Matthew panicked and immediately wrapping his arms around Lycoris, he shook his head and replied, 

"No, I can't let you do that.  You're not killing the both of you."

Alex replied, "Well, it is a pretty tense situation we're in right now and being stuck here doesn't help."

(I'll get off a bit early tonight since I have a couple of things to take care of before I go to sleep but I'll post again tomorrow before I go out for work.  Nite, nite, Love.  ^^)

Lycoris shook her head frantically and tearfully replied,

"Stop it. Stop saying 'both of you.' I am only one Lycoris, she isn't me! I-I don't know what she is but stop making her part of me, stop it. I hate every time you say it. I hate that you treat her as though she is me but she isn't. She isn't, she isn't."

Her body was shaking uncontrollably and she seemed to almost break down.

The shapeshifter nodded and replied, "Yeah, I guess."

She paused then asked, "Where is Lycoris? Is she resting? How is she faring?"

Matthew took a break and gently rubbing Lycoris' back, he said,

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry."

He was trying to calm Lycoris, starting to feel conflicted about what to do.

Alex kind of expected that the question would come up unexpectedly, so he calmly replied,

"Yeah, she's in her room.  She needed to get some sleep, and Matt is watching over her."

Well, Alex figured that Matthew was most likely with Lycoris.

Lycoris was finding it hard to calm down, however, and gently pushing Matthew away, she tearfully said,

"Take me back to Alex. Please. I-I need him. It doesn't matter what we plan to do. It's my choice, my decision. Take me back to him or else, or else..."

Her mind was quickly wandering, for she could really hurt herself if Matthew continued to resist her.

The shapeshifter nodded and replied, "Ok. Hopefully her health is all restored by the time this is all over. It's about time."

She continued getting in some fresh air then said, "I'll head back inside. I should continue inspecting this house. Do you need anything?"

Matthew replied, "What are you going to do if I refuse?  I told her that I wouldn't let you harm her and she doesn't want to go to the captain."

Alex shook his head and replied, "I'll be fine.  I want to stay out here for a little longer but then I'll head inside, too."

He smiled a bit at the shapeshifter.

Lycoris was even more irritated as Matthew continued to mention her other self although she was silent for a moment. Tears trickling down her cheeks, she silently cast a spell and a small dagger appeared in her hands. Despite her shaking hands, she aimed the dagger right where her heart was and then slowly said,

"I'll kill myself. No more Lycoris. You-you know, that's for the best. Nothing for anyone to fight about anymore."

Although this was supposed to be just a threat, she was breaking down to the point that she was truly considering it.

The shapeshifter nodded and said, "Ok. I'll see you later."

She then headed back to inside the house.

Immediately alarmed at the knife in Lycoris' hands, Matthew made a move to swipe it away, as he wouldn't allow her to harm either of them.

As soon as it looked like the shapeshifter went back inside the house, Alex immediately move towards the barrier and soon, he was outside of it.  He then took advantage of being able to use his magic again and reaching out to Lycoris, he said,

Lycoris, it's me.  I'm awake.  Are you outside?


(I probably won't make my next post until after I get back from work.  XD)

Lycoris had anticipated that Matthew would try to snatch away her dagger and so cast a small shield around herself, one that could stop him from touching her. She quietly said,

"If-if you want to stop me, there is only one way. Take me back."

She then heard Alex's message and desperately, she replied,

Alex, yes, yes, I am outside. I-I don't know where I am for certain but it's an inn in town. That I am sure of. Hurry, Alex. Help me, please.

(Back now.  ^^)

Matthew looked like he was in pain, not knowing what to do.  

Meanwhile, Alex replied,

I think I know where you are.  There's only one inn in Devenshire.  Hang on, ok?  I'm coming for you.

(Welcome back. ^^)

Lycoris replied,

I-I will. Hurry, please.


She continued pointing the dagger right at where her heart was and although her hands were shaking, her face had only looks of determination. She quietly said,

"I-I'll die anyways, Matthew. Now or later. If you want to prevent me from handing myself to the captain, you won't prevent me from taking my life myself."

Alex ran towards town, hurrying as fast as his feet would take him.  He didn't know how long Lycoris would be able to keep control so he knew that time was of the essence.

Matthew gently replied, "Please, Lycoris, calm down.  Let's talk about this, ok?  You don't need to do anything rash."

Lycoris replied tearfully,

"You-you're the one driving me to do this. You don't see what I want. You just see what she wants. But she isn't me. She isn't Lycoris. I wish I could separate her from myself so I don't have to carry her burden around all along. Let me go. I-I want to go back to Alex."

Her other self was starting to fight for control again, but she did her best to keep her under control.

Matthew replied, "If you two weren't connected, I would do as you say but you are.  You think she's evil but she's not.  She's got her own way of thinking and rather than try to understand others, you just do what you want to do."

He felt bad for being harsh with Lycoris, but he didn't see another option.

Alex continued to run and soon, he was on the outskirts of town.  He paused briefly to take a few deep breaths and then headed towards the inn.

Lycoris felt hurt with Matthew's words and her eyes teared up even more. Shaking, she replied slowly,

"I-I don't think of others? I...I am always thinking of others, putting everyone else in front of me. I forgot what I truly wanted in life because I am always putting others before me. Now you-you say I don't try to understand?"
 
Her grip on the dagger hardened and she almost pushed it through, as though she wanted to take her other self's life, rather than her own.

Matthew shouted, "Stop!  Don't do it.  Please."

Alex reached the inn and going to the front desk, he asked if there had been any recent check-ins.  The man at the front desk said that there was one, and after Alex asked for the room number, he rushed upstairs, hoping to find Lycoris.

Lycoris didn't push through the dagger although her hands were shaking and she was crying, a look of hurt and desperation on her face. Whispering, as she talked to herself more than anything else, she said,

"I-I didn't ask for her to be created...She-she was forced on me."

Matthew's heart felt sad as he heard Lycoris' words and as he was about to reply, there was a sudden banging on the door.

Outside, Alex said,

"Lycoris, are you in there?  Call for me if you are.  Please."

Lycoris snapped out of her daze as she heard Alex's voice and desperately, she called out,

"Alex! Yes, I am in here. I am here. Come in, please, please."

Alex pushed open the door and ran inside the room.  There, he saw Lycoris and Matthew.  He hurried to Lycoris' side and said,

"I'm here, Lycoris, I'm here."

He then looked angrily at Matthew and asked, "How could you do that?"

Matthew quietly replied, "I-I just wanted to protect her."

As Lycoris felt Alex's presence beside her, she dropped the dagger and let down the shield, throwing herself into his arms. Crying, she said,

"You're here, you're here. Please take me away from here. I-I didn't want to leave. I am sorry."

Alex hugged Lycoris, wrapping his arms around him.  Gently, soothingly, he replied,

"I know, Lycoris, I know.  If I hadn't been knocked unconscious, I could have stopped this.  But it's going to be ok.  I'm not leaving you."

Lycoris continued to hold on tightly to Alex, crying softly in his arms for a few more moments before she eventually started to calm down. She quietly said,

"Please get us out of here."

Her other self was starting to push through harder and it showed on her face although she tried to hold on.

Alex nodded and replied, "You got it."

He then glared at Matthew and said, "If you try to stop us, I promise you'll regret it."

Alex then held onto Lycoris and led her out of the room.
