Lycoris replied sadly,

I-I know that you and Sia want my own good but maybe I don't want it. You-you know what I want. I am with the shapeshifter and Lady Penelope and once I am ready, they will sacrifice my powers. But there's something I need your help with. 

Ryan wanted to persuade Lycoris to change her mind but he was curious about what she needed his help with so he replied,

Ok, what is it?

Lycoris took a deep breath then replied,

My other self is still around and I am barely keeping her at bay. Umm I-I have a friend here. He is a very powerful healer and white magic user so he-he is thinking that perhaps there could be a way to separate us or at least have me only sacrificed but not her. But he needs to understand the nature of the duplicate spell that created her in the first place.

Ryan replied,

I-I see.  But you're still going to sacrifice yourself.  Is that right?

Lycoris was silent for a moment but then sadly replied,

Yes. I-I just want my other self to survive so only I'll go. 

Ryan replied,

You shouldn't have to be sacrificed at all.  That's why I came up with that duplicate spell in the first place.  If only it had gone like it should have, none of this would have happened.


He sighed sadly inside to himself.

Lycoris sighed and replied,

Please, Ryan. This-this isn't why I am contacting you. I've already made my decision. If-if you don't wish to help me, that's fine. I'll understand.


Meanwhile, Lisianthus noticed how silent Ryan was and understanding that he was in contact with someone, she waited curiously for any response from him, wondering who it was.

Ryan replied,

I'll help but I should tell Sia what's going on.  She has the right to know.


Meanwhile, Matthew watched silently nearby, wondering how things were going between Lycoris and Ryan.

(Ahh Lycoris is having Matthew on the telepathy with her so he should be able to listen to her conversation with Ryan. XD)

Lycoris replied,

Please don't. I-I can tell what Sia's reaction would be. She wouldn't approve of this. I know she wants to protect me but this is my own decision to make.

(Ahh yeah, sorry.  I'm a bit tired so I'm only half awake.  XD)

Ryan frowned and replied,

I don't know.  I don't want to keep things from Sia again.  And yes, you'd be right.  She wouldn't want you to do this and frankly, I don't want you to do this, either.  I know you want to save the devils' world but there must be another way.  I don't believe in fate being set in stone.

(No problem. XD)

Lycoris sighed sadly and replied,

But it is set in stone. It-it is what I was kept alive for. And it is not like I will be completely sacrificed. My other self will live.


It hurt her deeply to be looking for that solution, as she hated her other self and she hated to imagine that she would live in her name.

Ryan replied,

I think everyone would rather have you than your other self exist.  But I'll help.  You just need to understand how the duplicate spell works, right?

Lycoris was surprised but glad that Ryan agreed to help and replied,

Yes, but I won't be the right person to tell. I'll connect you to my friend. He is the one you should tell about the spell.


She patted Matthew's hand gently, motioning him to take it from here.

Matthew gently squeezed Lycoris' hand and then said,

Umm hi, Ryan.  This is Matthew.  I'm currently looking after Lycoris.  She's in safe hands.


Matthew and Ryan exchanged some brief words of greeting before they began to discuss the details of the duplicate spell.

(I hope it's ok that I summarized their conversation like this.  XD)

(Yup, that's fine. XD)

Lycoris listened on to Matthew's and Ryan's conversation and although she didn't understand any details, she hoped that Matthew would be able to find a way through understanding the duplicate spell to separate her and her other self or at least prevent the latter from being sacrificed.

After Ryan finished explaining the details of the spell, Matthew replied,

Yup, I think I can come up with something but I may need to contact you again for help.  Is that all right?


Ryan replied,

If it's ok with Lycoris, of course, then it's ok with me.

Lycoris then spoke up,

Thank you very much for your help, Ryan. I truly appreciate it. Umm you won't tell Sia about this, please?

Ryan replied,

I won't although Sia will wonder why I've been so quiet.  But I guess I can tell her a partial truth, that you contacted me.  But I'll make up the rest.

Lycoris was relieved to hear this answer from Ryan and smiling a bit, she replied,

Thank you, Ryan. I promise that Sia won't find out anything and even if she were to find out about this plan somehow, you have nothing to do with it. 

Ryan replied,

Ok.  I hope we can talk again soon.


Matthew added,

Thank you for your help.  We may need to contact you again so you may hear from us.

Meanwhile, Lisianthus waited eagerly for Ryan to finish his conversation with whoever he was talking with, wondering who it was and why it was taking so long. She prayed it was Lycoris or anyone who had news about her.

Ryan soon finished up the conversation with Matthew and Lycoris and then turning to Lisianthus, he smiled apologetically and said,

"Hey, sorry I was quiet for a while there.  You might have a guess as to who contacted me although I wish I had better news."

Lisianthus was glad then worried in the same time and guessing who it was, she replied,

"Lycoris, right? What did she say? Did she tell you where she was?"

Ryan shook his head sadly and replied, "She refused to tell me.  I tried to persuade her to tell us but she just wanted to let me know that she's ok and that we should stop looking for her.  I don't understand.  I told her that we only have her best interests but she's determined to sacrifice herself."

He had a sad expression his face.

Lisianthus was disappointed to hear that this was everything Lycoris said and that she was still determined to sacrifice herself. Groaning to herself, she said,

"We can't allow her to do this. We have to find her. We have to find her as soon as possible."

Meanwhile, Lycoris sighed sadly after she and Matthew finished their conversation with Ryan. She quietly said, 

"I-I am doing this for you, not for my other self. I don't want to stand between you two."
