Romance RP

(All done with my stuff so I'm free now.  ^^)

Matthew nodded and replied, "Yup, I did.  I wanted to talk to Alex and Nerine but I didn't have a chance to.  It looks like I will now."

He smiled softly and added, "You two may look alike but I get the feeling that I'll always feel closer to you."

Lycoris blushed deeply but smiling, she said,

"Aww don't say that. You haven't met Nerine yet and I am sure you'll like her as much. But how about it? Maybe you can tell me how alike you think we are, in terms of personality, I mean."

Matthew looked thoughtful and replied, "If Nerine is like you, then she must be kind, sweet, and considerate as well.  It wouldn't surprise me that Alex loves her so very much."

Lycoris smiled softly and happy to hear Matthew's words, she replied,

"Yes, he loves her so much and I am happy for them. Nerine is a wonderful person; you'll see. I bet you'll make great friends with her although I might get a bit jealous then."

She giggled a bit at her comment.

Matthew chuckled and replied, "Awww, Nerine and I may very well end up becoming friends but I'll always be closest to you."

He reached out to touch her right hand, gently gazing at her.

Lycoris blushed again but smiling softly, she said,

"Thanks, Matt. You're really kind to me and I truly appreciate it. I am grateful for your friendship. I mean, I can consider you my friend now, right? We only met last night but you already know so much about me and you do everything you can to help me out."

Matthew nodded happily and replied, "Of course, Lycoris.  I already think of you as my closest friend and I hope you'll think the same of me.  Not to mention that you're the most beautiful, kindest, sweetest, and warmest friend I've ever had."

Lycoris blushed even deeper at hearing those words and shyly replied,

"And now we're flattering, aren't we? But your words are quite sweet and it warms my heart to listen to them. I do consider myself lucky to have met you, Matt. I mean, it was a strange coincidence but a happy one, right?"

Matthew nodded happily and replied, "Yup, it sure was and you know, what I just said might have sounded like flattery but they were simply the truth.  You are truly wonderful, Lycoris, and I want you to remember always."

Lycoris smiled softly, touched by Matthew's words and happily replied,

"Thanks, Matt. Your words truly mean a lot to me."

She was soon all done with her tea then said, "This was very delicious. The tea was refreshing and the cookies were a great snack."

Matthew soon thereafter finished his tea and share of cookies and replied,

"Yup, it sure was."

He took the tray and placed it outside the room for one of the maids to take later.  He then returned to Lycoris' side and said,

"What would you like for dinner?  I'll have the chefs prepare whatever you want."

Lycoris replied, "Aww that's quite kind of you but I really don't want anything special. But umm, maybe..."

She paused then asked, "What is your favorite dish? I'd like to try it out, whatever it is."

Matthew smiled softly and replied, "Well, I have simple tastes so my favorite dish would be fried chicken with buttermilk biscuits along with mashed potatoes and some coleslaw.  It sounds like a lot but it's really good and very filling.  Would you like to try it for dinner?"

Lycoris smiled softly and nodding, she said,

"Yes, I'd like that very much. I think I tried most of the foods you just mentioned although not coleslaw. What's that? Is it some sort of a side dish?"

Matthew nodded and replied, "Yup, it is.  It's kind of like salad although a smaller portion and the dressing is sweet.  I think you'll like it and if you'd like, we can have dessert afterwards.  Also, I hope it's ok if we eat together.  I truly do enjoy your company, Lycoris."

Lycoris blushed softly but she replied happily,

"Yes, I would like that very much. I enjoy your company too, Matt. But umm, that won't bother your dad, right? I mean, I don't want to seem like I am taking your company away from him or something."

Matthew shook his head and replied, "Oh no, Dad won't mind at all.  We do have other guests here and he'll be more than happy to talk with your friends.  Also, when I talked to them earlier, they did seem to enjoy his company."

Lycoris smiled softly and replied,

"Well then, in that case, I'll be more than glad to have dinner with you. Your dad did really seem like a very nice man so I am not surprised the others enjoy his company. He sounded quite kind and friendly."

Matthew nodded happily and replied, "I am glad that they finally have the chance to meet him.  I invited them here the other day but the shapeshifter declined my invitation even though Lady Penelope did want to come here.  I'm not sure what happened but I suppose there was some important business that needed attending to.  That happens."

Lycoris looked a bit thoughtful as she heard what Matthew said and recalling the events of the other day, she sighed sadly and said,

"I might be to blame for that. I-I mean...the shapeshifter wanted to get me out of the mansion where I was kept although she didn't know where I was. She was supposed to follow Sia to there at one point. It-it was part of the reason I decided to run away on my own. I didn't want another mess to happen because of me."

Matthew nodded in understanding and replied, "I see.  It was risky of you to run away like that although I could understand why you did so.  Just know that you are safe here and I'll ensure that no harm comes to you whatsoever."

Lycoris smiled softly and replied,

"Thanks, Matt. I have no doubt about that. I originally wanted to head to Alex's and Nerine's house or at least, the cave where the portal was but I ended up in front of your house somehow. It must be destiny, right? Otherwise, we wouldn't have met and in a way, we wouldn't have been completely safe either."

Matthew smiled softly and replied, "Yes, that's true.  I feel like we were meant to meet and I'm glad that you arrived in front of my place."

He gazed warmly at Lycoris, happy to be with her.

Lycoris nodded happily and replied, "Me, too."

Thinking she could know more about him, she curiously asked, "So Matt, have you always lived in Devenshire? You've never been anywhere else?"

Matthew replied, "I have lived most of my life in Devenshire although when I went to medical school, I went to Lessire since it's a much bigger city.  Devenshire is most famous for its music conservatory but if you want to specialize in medicine, one of the bigger cities here is better for that.  How about you, Lycoris?  It seems like you've traveled a lot and had some adventures."
