Romance RP

Lisianthus wasn't so glad that Ryan was able to find her as she wished for some alone time but as he was already standing there, she sighed inwardly but nodding, she said,

"Yeah, I'm feeling a lot better now. Thanks for the soup. It helped a lot."

She glanced at him for a moment but otherwise kept her gaze away, hoping he would leave as soon as possible.

Ryan nodded and replied, "That's good.  I'm glad to hear that it helped."

He paused and then said, "I would leave you be but there are a couple of business matters I need to bring to your personal attention.  That is, if you're up for it."

Lisianthus looked attentive as Ryan mentioned 'business matters,' wondering what he could possibly mean. Turning to look at him, she furrowed her eyebrows and asked,

"What is it? Did something happen?"

Ryan nodded and replied, "Yeah, and I'm going to tell you this one first.  Alex approached me earlier and..."

He told Lisianthus about how Alex talked to him about the shapeshifter, demanding to know where Lycoris was and threatening to endanger Lisianthus if Alex didn't get the information soon.  Of course, Ryan didn't mention that he actually knew where Lycoris was.

Lisianthus listened attentively, especially as she knew that it had to do with the shapeshifter and Lycoris. In fact, she was even glad to hear this news as it was something that she even looked for. Finally, the shapeshifter would show herself and she would be able to capture her and punish her for everything she did.

After Ryan was done, she remained calm and replied,

"Alright. I understand and it's expected, isn't it? I'll be careful so don't worry."

She observed Ryan carefully, wondering how his reaction to this would be.

Ryan nodded, a little surprised by how calm Lisianthus was over the news.  He asked,

"You will take steps to protect yourself, right, Sia?  I mean, if the shapeshifter were to harm you..."

He looked sad at the thought of any harm coming to Lisianthus.

Lisianthus observed Ryan carefully, wondering if he was really honest about how he felt. After all, didn't he take the shapeshifter's side before? Wouldn't he take it again?

Turning her gaze away, she frowned a bit and replied,

"So you actually do know that I'm the one who is hiding Lycoris. I mean, Duke Collins told me what he said to but you never approached me about it. I was starting to doubt whether he really told you but you do know."

Ryan replied, "I thought that might be the case but I'm sure you have your reasons for not saying anything.  You probably don't trust me and I can't blame you.  But more importantly, you want to protect Lycoris and I can certainly understand that."

Lisianthus looked sharply at Ryan, as his words just didn't make it to her. However, she remained calm as she replied,

"I don't know but you didn't understand that before so why now? I mean, if you understood that I wanted to protect Lycoris before, you wouldn't have hidden anything from me, right?"

She took a breath and turning her gaze away, she replied quietly,

"You're right that I don't trust you. I-I don't even understand why you are warning me about this. Aren't you on the shapeshifter's side? Didn't you help her before escape and get to Lycoris? Or perhaps this is all a plan. You could be her way of hurting me after all."

There were tears forming in her eyes as she said that last sentence, as although her words were harsh, she truly thought they could be true.

Ryan looked surprised and hurt as Lisianthus said those latter words to him but doing his best to remain calm, he replied,

"I wouldn't trick you, Sia.  I want to regain your trust and faith in me and giving you this information helps, doesn't it?  You can take steps to protect yourself.  If I truly wanted to help the shapeshifter, I wouldn't have bothered telling you anything in the first place."

(Sorry for the delay. Had to have lunch quickly and all. XD)

Although Ryan's words made sense, they just wouldn't go through Lisianthus' head, for her feelings kept telling her that Ryan could be very well lying to her. Biting her lower lip, she turned her gaze away and replied,

"I don't know. It may be some sort of a plan or perhaps you're telling me this so that I would trust you again and let my guard down around you, to give you a chance to stab me in the back once more. I don't really see why you would suddenly let go of the shapeshifter when you were helping her reach Lycoris only very recently."

(Ahh no problem.  XD)

Ryan replied, "Because I realized that I was wrong to not be beside you and I want to do everything I can to prove that my love and devotion are for you.  I don't know why I'd come up with such a weird plan if this was all a trick."

Lisianthus was silent for a few moments but after taking a breath and calming herself down, she replied,

"I don't know if that is even possible, Ryan. I don't think I can forgive you. I told you before, things are over between us. There's no relationship anymore, no love to be proven. Why can't you just accept that and move on?"

Ryan replied, "Because I know that you still love me.  Despite that you deny it yourself, I know that there is a part of you that still loves me and so I will never give up on you.  I'll never give up on us and if I have to, I'll prove it to you every day of my love for you until the day I die."

Lisianthus' body was almost trembling as she heard Ryan's words, as though her heart was trying to persuade her to give him a last chance, to forget everything and run back to his arms. But she had to put away such thoughts, for despite that she loved him very much still with every fibre of her heart, the faith she had in him had weakened to a point where she just couldn't trust him anymore.

Biting her lower lip, she frowned and as though she didn't care, she replied,

"Whatever. You can waste your time all you want but I won't allow you to waste mine. As for the shapeshifter, I was waiting for this moment. After all, she should show up soon so I would be able to finally catch her and punish her for her evil deeds. Only then can I let Lycoris be free again to seek her happiness."

Ryan replied, "I see.  Well, as long as you protect yourself, that's all that matters to me.  Your safety is first and foremost important to me."

He paused and then added, "There is one other thing I need to bring up to you."

Lisianthus took a breath and turning to Ryan once more, she asked,

"And what is that?"

Ryan took a deep breath and then told Lisianthus about what Irene had told him about the secret group that planned to overthrow her and put the chancellor back in power.  He gently asked,

"Were you aware of this, Sia?"

(Getting sleepy here so I'll get off for the night now and go to sleep.  I'll check back tomorrow and post again.  Nite, nite, Love.  ^^)

Lisianthus didn't look surprised as Ryan told her about that secret group, as she already had an idea about their presence and this wasn't news to her. Sighing a bit, she replied,

"Yes, I know about them. The news came to me a couple of days ago. But what about them? Why did Irene tell you about this?"

Ryan replied, "Because you haven't addressed the issue yet.  Aren't you worried about this group?  They could harm you and I couldn't bear it."

He looked off to the side, feeling saddened at the thought.

Lisianthus glanced at Ryan and noticing his reaction, she wondered if it was truly genuine, if he was really that worried about her. But she replied,

"I know they could harm me but...I don't really care. Don't they want to overthrow me and take my throne to give it to the chancellor? Isn't that what most people want too? Well, alright, I'll give them a chance to try to do that. I won't resist this time. I don't really care anymore."

There was a tone of deep sadness in her voice, as this was definitely not like her to say such things when she had always thought of having her kingdom as the most important priority.

Ryan felt even more saddened as he heard Lisianthus' words and instinctively, he hugged her protectively and said,

"How can you say that, Sia?  Why would you not fight for what you want?  Why?  Why?"

There were tears in his eyes and but he didn't wipe them away.

(I'm back early today although I'll log off earlier than usual as well. There's an important football match that I want to watch so I skipped classes and all. XD)

Lisianthus was a little surprised as Ryan hugged her although she didn't push him away, part of her secretly wanting his hold to last as long as possible. Quietly, she replied,

"What's the point of fighting and going on if no one believes in you? What's the point of being queen if almost everyone in my kingdom hates me? Even the closest people to me...those who know me the most, they don't believe in me all the same. Then what's the point? If my people don't want me, then alright. I am tired of all of this anyways so let them do what they want."

(Ahh I see.  XD)

Ryan looked deeply into Lisianthus' eyes and gently replied, "I believe in you, Sia.  I do.  And others do, too.  I can understand why you feel differently but I know you're a good queen.  You're not perfect but then no one is.  If you won't defend yourself, then I'll defend you.  Those people will have to go through me before they can get to you."

Lisianthus was surprised by Ryan's response and looking back at him with a pained expression over her face, she replied,

"But even you didn't believe in me when it mattered, Ryan. You may say that you regret it now all you want but when it happened, when there was a real test of your faith in me, you acted just like everyone else. You didn't trust me and preferred to keep me in the dark about everything. So how can you say now that you believe in me, Ryan? You're no different from anyone else, Ryan. No different."
