Nerine's Past

Although Nerine felt a bit uncomfortable as she was about to begin
her story, she knew that it couldn't be a secret for long. Truth must
be shown, especially after what Alex had told her earlier and all.

So beginning, she said, "Well, as you may already know, I am a devil. I
used to live in the devil kingdom before I came here. I was the
princess of the devil kingdom. Unfortunately, because I am the
princess,
I had so much power in my body and it caused me a serious illness. I
got ill often, coughing and fainting. I did suffer a lot but luckily, it
wasn't dangerous. Like you, I was going to be the queen one day but..."
Nerine looked away and paused for a second to let a tear trickle down
her cheek. "My kingdom was attacked by Gods one day. The Gods and the
devils lived peacefully for years, it was a surprise when a war began
between them. Nobody knew why or who began the war, but war was so
furious." Nerine's tears trickled down her face as soon as she mentioned the war.

"My
parents, the king and the queen, tried to stop it. But...it was no use.
They tried to help me escape and I did but they...they were killed in
the process." Nerine took a break to let some tears out before
continuing,

"I ran away from the war's place, trying to find
someplace...someone...to help me. I found Avi, who was like my older
brother. He protected me and stayed beside me. But we were found not
long after. I could have been killed if it wasn't that
Avi...Avi...transported me here. To the the human world, where it is
safe for me to stay. Rosalind then found me and took care of me, but I
lost my parents, my kingdom and Avi, who was like a brother to me."

It hurt remembering all of that. The memories of blood, pain and tears were like a sword in Nerine's heart.

Witnessing
the tears trickling down on Nerine's face, Alex immediately approached
her and hugged her, comforting her in his arms as best as he could. He
took out a handkerchief from his pocket and used it to slowly wipe away
the tears.

"I'm sorry. I guess I shouldn't have been curious about your past. I had no idea it was so painful."

Looking
into Nerine's eyes and seeing how vulnerable she looked at that moment,
Alex was enamored by her beauty, so much so that he was tempted to kiss
her right then and there.

Nerine felt so safe and warm in Alex's arms. She did continue to cry, remembering the sad past she have gone through.
After a while of crying, Nerine finally stopped weeping and looked at Alex.

"Thanks, I am feeling better now."

Alex smiled at Nerine. "I'm glad that I could be there for you and thank you for trusting me."

Getting up, Alex extended his hand towards Nerine. "I should take you home now. You need some rest."

Nerine
looked a bit disappointingly at Alex. She did enjoy the time she spent
with him and somehow, she didn't want it to end. But knowing they had
to leave, Nerine nodded.

"Alright, I guess."

Alex noticed the disappointment on Nerine's face and couldn't help but feel guilty.

"Well, I don't have to take you home yet, if you don't want to. Maybe we could get something to eat or walk around town a bit?"

Nerine quickly smiled and shook her head to Alex. Despite that she didn't want to go home, she didn't want Alex to feel bad.

"Um, no. If you want to go home now, I guess it's ok with me, too."

Alex
thought it over. "Well, I do want to see how Rosalind is doing but
Rosaline is watching her so I'm sure she's safe. There's still some
daylight out so why don't we walk around for a while? Or we could just
stay here under the tree and enjoy each other's company although I'm
not sure what else we could talk about."

"Umm, well, I would like to stay here with you a bit more. But that's of course if you don't mind."

Alex smiled. "Sure. That would be fine. I do enjoy spending time with you, Nerine."

Alex sat back down underneath the tree, beside Nerine, and for a moment closed his eyes, to take in the atmosphere.

Nerine
looked at Alex for a moment then looked at the sky and watched as the
sun made it's set. It was a beautiful view, the stars were beginning to
shine and it felt cozy and sleepy.

As the night was beginning to
come, Alex continued to enjoy sitting beside Nerine. Slowly, though, he
began to feel sleepy. All the events of the day had worn him out and
before he knew it, his eyes drooped.

While enjoying the
atmosphere and the peaceful night, Nerine glanced at Alex for a moment
and noticed that he was falling asleep. She giggled quietly and gently
shook him. She said, "Hey, Alex. If you are sleepy...then why don't you
sleep here?"

She pointed at her lap, all wishing he would just accept this little request.

Alex
opened his eyes a little and saw Nerine pointing towards her lap. She
invited him to sleep there and at that moment, he was too tired to
refuse.

"All right then."

Alex laid his head on Nerine's lap and slowly closed his eyes.

Yays!

Happy
that Alex has accepted to sleep in her lap, Nerine began to stroke
Alex's head gently, happy with his company. She gazed lovingly at him,
feeling so much warmth and happiness.

Feeling Nerine stroke his
hair, Alex enjoyed the time that he was spending with her. It was
peaceful and quiet in the park and a lot of people had left to go home.
He enjoyed this moment and wished it to last for as long as it could.
He didn't have any worries on his mind then.

As Nerine continued
gazing at Alex while stroking his hair in the same time, Nerine
couldn't help herself any longer. She approached Alex's face and
gently, she kissed him on the lips, giving him a gentle, sweet, full of
love kiss.

Half asleep but still somewhat awake, Alex felt
Nerine approach him and kiss him. Not being able to resist, Alex was
overcome with romantic feelings and returned the kiss. It was such a
sweet, gentle moment and all he felt was passion towards the one he was
with.

Feeling Alex return the kiss, Nerine blushed deeply, as
she hasn't expected him to kiss her back. She felt so happy with him
and wished that moment would never end, that they would kiss forever.

The
kiss continued to last for a moment longer but eventually broke off.
Then Alex gazed into Nerine's eyes, marveling at their beauty in the
moonlight. Gently, he stroked her hair and then her cheek, feeling its
softness.

Realizing how late it was getting, Alex became more
awake. "I should take you home now, yes? I'll be sure that you're safe
and sound."

Nerine nodded with a smile. "I think we are beginning to feel sleepy here, aren't we?" Nerine couldn't help but giggle a bit.

Alex nodded and chuckled a bit as well.

"It's getting rather late out here and I should at the very least escort you home. We can talk more soon."

Alex got up and held out his hand for Nerine to get up.

Nerine took Alex's hand and stood up. "I'd feel special if you escort me home."

"But of course. There's no way I'm letting you walk home alone in the night like this."

Alex winked towards Nerine and extended his arm so that she could take it while they walked home together.

Nerine blushed as Alex offered her his arm so that they walk home together. But gracefully she accepted and held his arm gently.

Alex
held Nerine's arm and together, they walked out of the park and headed
towards the direction of her house. He looked over at Nerine and saw
her beauty.

"Wow, you look even more beautiful in the moonlight but then again, you always look exquisite."

Nerine blushed even deeper, feeling touched by Alex's words. All she could reply was, "Um, thank you."

Alex replied with a small smile on his face and then continued escorting Nerine to her house. Soon they arrived at her house.

"Well, I should let you get some sleep for the night but I had a wonderful time with you today, Nerine."

Alex leaned over to give Nerine a sweet kiss on the lips.

Her
face turning red as Alex leaned over to kiss her, Nerine passionately
returned the kiss. After it was broken, she replied, "Thanks, Alex. I
have really enjoyed this day with you, too. I'll drop by tomorrow to
greet Rosalind for her birthday and all."

Alex nodded. "I will see you tomorrow then. Good night, my sweet, dear Nerine, and sleep well."

Alex turned and started walking in the direction towards Rosalind's house.
He'd have some explaining to do on why he was out so late.

After
Alex had left, Nerine opened her house's door and entered. Once inside
and after closing the door, Nerine felt so happy, so happy that she
might fly.

Now I know who that knight in my dreams was. It was you, Alex, my love, my master, my dream, my everything.

And
so, we close the first book of Nerine's little adventures. After
suffering and losing all of her beloved ones, Nerine was thrown in the
human world where she knew no one. She made friends there, but she was
never happy. Now, she has found a true love, someone she can trust and
lean on. But what happened to her? Did Alex and Nerine ever become

Awww, I love the way that Nerine's Past ended, with Nerine being happy and all. ^^ I hope that there will be more of Nerine's story to tell (after Rosaline's story is told, of course).

Awww, thanks. ^^ I am glad you liked this story. It was really long but yeah. lol

Now to work on Rosaline's story. Wondering, won't Alex be interested to read that one?

lol Alex says that he's curious but he really enjoys reading more about Nerine and Lycoris.

lol Thought so. Well, I might think about writing a part 2. And for Rosaline's story, I guess Bryan will be the one most interested in it.
