Alex replied, "We're not going to let you do that.  We'll get my darling back and then that captain will pay for kidnapping them in the first place.  He isn't a man to do such a dishonorable deed."

Helena added, "The captain's showing you mercy.  You should be thanking him."

Inside, she hoped that she could find a way to free Nerine although it looked like it would now be more difficult to do so.

Lycoris sighed sadly and replied, "There is always the chance that things might not work out, that the others might not be able to find the captain or that he tries to hurt Nerine or Helena before they find him. You and Nerine have a life to look to, Alex, and a baby on the way to raise. I don't have anything to lose."

Nerine groaned angrily and said, "You'll pay for this. They will find you and you'll regret everything you did."

Nathan smirked and replied, "Heh, I am looking forward to it then. Worry about yourself, girl. And eat if you want to survive long enough."

He then walked out of the room and waited for Helena to follow him.

Alex shook his head and replied, "Hey, that's not true.  You have your life to lose.  And didn't you want to use your powers to restore the devils' world?  The captain won't let you do that, you know."

With Nathan's back turn, Helena gave a silent plea to Nerine to eat and that she would get Nerine out upon the first opportunity that she could get.

She then followed Nathan out of Nerine's room.

Lycoris replied sadly, "I will lose my life anyway, Alex. But if I get to choose between saving the devil's world or Nerine, I will definitely choose Nerine any day."

After Helena was out, Nathan locked the door again. As he did, he furrowed his eyebrows as he said,

"You know, your words to her are extremely harsh, considering that she was your friend a very short while ago."

Alex sighed sadly and replied, "Hey, let's just get you ready, ok?  We can talk about this some more later."

He approached Lycoris' bag to take out her things that she'd need to get ready for sleep.

Helena raised an eyebrow and replied, "So you think I should have been nicer to her?  I meant what I said.  She should be grateful rather than making demands."

Lycoris sighed to herself and didn't say anything more. She knew that Alex must be quite worried about Nerine and their baby and she only wanted to comfort him that she wouldn't abandon them ever but it seemed that she only made things worse.

Nathan finished locking the door and turning to Helena, he said,

"I am not saying anything. But I still find it surprising that you turned your back on her when she was your friend just last night. I only expected you to be softer. I wouldn't be surprised if you did."

Alex finished taking out Lycoris' things and approaching her, he said,

"Let's get you washed up first and then I'll hand you your nightgown so you can change."

Helena looked conflicted and replied, "You think I should have been gentler on her?"

Helena thought that showing a tough front would prove to Nathan that she was on his side, but it seemed to only confuse him.

(Getting sleepy so I'll go to bed now but I'll post more tomorrow before I go to work.  Nite, nite, Love.  ^^)

Lycoris nodded and replied, "Ok. Thank you, Alex."

She got up and followed Alex to the bathroom where with his help, she washed her face and brushed her teeth. She then dried herself with a towel and waited for Alex to fetch her a nightgown so she could change.

Nathan replied, "No, I expected you to be softer, all things considered."

He paused then after taking a deep breath, he said, "I don't really care what you do, as long as you mean it. As long as it's honest. It's the first and most thing I liked about you, you know. That you spoke your mind fearlessly. That's what matters to me. To be honest."

He gazed deeply in her eyes as he said those words, meaning every word and hoping to read her. He still had his doubts about Helena's true loyalty after all and unless she proved to him somehow that she was definitely on his side, he couldn't help being cautious despite that he wanted to feel otherwise.

After Alex helped Lycoris to wash up and brush her teeth, he handed her a nightgown and said,

"I'll wait in your room while you get changed in the bathroom."

He then closed the bathroom door to give Lycoris privacy.

Helena furrowed her eyebrows and nodded, understanding what Nathan wanted.  It seemed that he still didn't trust her completely and she understood that he had reason to.  She was still feeling conflicted herself.  She'd need to be open with Nathan although that would involve some risk.

Gazing back into his eyes, she quietly replied, "I understand."

After Alex closed the bathroom's door, Lycoris changed out of her clothes and into the nightgown Alex had fetched her. Once she was all finished, she opened the bathroom's door and said,

"I'm done, Alex."

Nathan nodded and replied, "Good."

He paused, took another deep breath then relaxing a little, he said, "What would you like to do for the morning? We could have another lesson to teach you to control your powers if you wanted. But I don't want to push you so I'll let you choose what to do."

Alex approached Lycoris and took her clothes, putting them away.  Then she escorted her to her bed, helping to tuck her in and make sure that she would sleep well.  He smiled at her and said,

"There.  You should get some sleep."

Helena replied, "I would like to learn how to use my powers better, so yup, I'm up for some training."

She wanted to train but also, she wanted to distract her mind from what Nathan had told her.

Lycoris smiled softly and replied,

"Thank you for your help, Alex. I appreciate it so. Please sleep well too, ok?"

Nathan smiled a bit and replied, "It's the answer I wanted to hear. Let's take you to the arena to get you trained then."

He offered his arm to her and once she held it, he led the way to the training arena.

Alex nodded and replied, "I will.  Call for either Matt or me if you need anything, ok?"

He leaned in to give Lycoris a kiss on her forehead and then proceeded to go to his room for the night.

Helena walked with Nathan as they headed to the training arena.  She hoped that she would be able to master her powers better and be prepared in battle.

(I'll be going out for work soon, so I'll post again tonight when I'm back.  XD)

Although Lycoris felt a little scared to sleep on her own, she didn't want to trouble either Matthew or Alex with staying with her. She took a deep breath and just closed her eyes to try to sleep, praying that everything would get better the next day.

Nathan and Helena soon arrived at the training arena. He released her then frowning seriously, he said,

"Alright, let's start. First, I want you to show me everything we learned last night."

Meanwhile, Alex went to his room, preparing to sleep.  He was worried about Nerine and hoped that she was all right and not hurt, and that they would find her and Helena soon.

Helena nodded and closing her eyes, she concentrated on summoning a couple of wind tornadoes. 

(Back now.  I'm going to take care of some stuff but I'll post more after.  ^^)

Lycoris tried to fall asleep although she couldn't do so easily, for she felt scared and only bad memories and nightmares kept haunting her. Her other personality also jumped at the opportunity, trying to break free.

Nathan observed Helena carefully as she cast the spells, hoping she would be able to summon them successfully.

As Alex tried to sleep, he found that his thoughts and feelings haunted him and he felt unsettled.  He wanted to go to Lycoris but thought that she was already asleep and didn't want to disturb her.

After Helena summoned the wind tornadoes, she then summoned a few thunder spells, casting them far enough and towards the ground.  They made a loud, threatening sound and although Helena felt troubled, she did her best to concentrate on the spells.

(I might have to do some editing work tonight so if that's case, I don't know how often I'll be able to post before I go to sleep.  Hopefully, the dev doesn't need it done tonight but if she does, then yeah, I'm not going to have much of a choice.  Just wanted to let you know in case.  XD)

(Ahh no problem, I understand. ^^ I'll check often and post whenever possible. XD)

Lycoris couldn't rest and even as she fell asleep a little, she woke up in alarm by a nightmare. Her fear overcoming her, she got out of the bed and carefully out of the room. However, she felt a little troubled as she went out as she didn't know where Alex's room was.

Nathan observed as Helena cast her spells and although she cast them correctly, he felt the spells were a little unstable. He commented,

"Clear your mind, Helena. Just think of the magic that you cast and nothing else."

(Thanks.  Fortunately, the dev told me that I didn't have to edit tonight so that's good.  XD)

At that time, Alex left his room as well, thinking of going downstairs to get a glass of water.  Just then, he saw Lycoris attempt to leave her room and looking at her in surprise, he whispered,

"Lycoris, what are you doing out of bed?"

Helena nodded and she took a deep breath.  Then she cast the same spells again and this time, she was able to focus on them better and hold them for longer.

(Coolies. XD)

Lycoris was relieved as she heard Alex's voice although she was surprised he hadn't slept yet. Looking down, she replied quietly,

"I-I was coming to you. I can't sleep. I-I keep getting those nightmares and... I-I am scared, Alex."

Nathan nodded in approval and commented, "That's a lot better."

He said, "Now for today's first spell, we'll learn how to make the wind carry something and move it however you like."

He explained the spell to Helena throughly and how to exactly cast it.

Alex wrapped his arms around Lycoris in a loving hug and gently replied,

"Hey, it's going to be ok.  Listen, I was going downstairs to get some water.  Perhaps you might like some, too?"

Helena paid attention and looked on in fascination as Nathan showed her how to cast the spell.  She nodded with much interest and commented,

"Wow, that's pretty cool and useful."

(I'll be going to bed soon but I'll post tomorrow.  Oh yeah, before I forget, I'll be out for quite a lot of the day tomorrow so my posts might be erratic but I'll try to get as much in as I can.  Nite, nite, Love.  ^^)

(Ahh it's just as well. XD I am going out for the day tomorrow, too, so I won't be able to post except maybe a couple of times before I head out and all. XD Nite, nite, phoenix. ^^)

Lycoris returned Alex's hug and felt a little calmer after the gesture. Nodding, she quietly said, 

"Ok, I'll appreciate that. It might help a little."

Nathan nodded and replied, "Definitely is. It is quite useful if you want to reach a certain object but you can't get to it yourself, or you want to move it from a distance. With enough strength, you can also use it to move someone."

He cast a spell and summoned a small ball. He said, "Now try to move this ball around. This should be relatively easy-it's a lightweight object that wind would carry easily."

Alex nodded and replied, "Ok, let's go to the kitchen then and get some water."

He gently held onto Lycoris' arm and carefully, slowly led the way downstairs to the kitchen.

Helena nodded and using the knowledge that Nathan taught her, she cast the spell and summoned the wind to carry the ball, moving it from side to side.

She asked,

"How's that?"

Lycoris carefully followed Alex downstairs to the kitchen where he could get them both water to drink. As he did, she quietly asked,

"I am guessing you couldn't sleep as well?"

Nathan nodded in approval and replied, "Excellent. Now let's try something a little more difficult."

He had the ball disappear and summoned a medium-sized vase instead.

Alex nodded and replied, "That's right.  I couldn't help but worry.  I thought about going to you but I assumed you'd be asleep and I didn't want to disturb you."

They made it to the kitchen and after getting a couple of lights, Alex took out two glasses and poured water into them.  Handing one glass to Lycoris, he said,

"Here you are."

Helena nodded and after taking a deep breath, she summoned the wind and focused on carrying the vase.  She was careful to concentrate completely, without any disturbance, so that the vase wouldn't break.

(I'll be going out in the afternoon so if I suddenly don't post, that's why.  XD)
