As though Alex could see the shapeshifter's actions, he asked,

What are you thinking exactly?

The shapeshifter was silent for a moment then she replied,

Well, I gave you all time to be able to find a solution to this but there has been no results so far, has there? So I'll take care of this. 

Alex was a bit alarmed upon hearing the shapeshifter's response and replied,

What do you mean by that?

The shapeshifter debated whether she should be honest with Alex and tell him about what was on her mind, but she couldn't completely trust him. She had a feeling that if she told him anything, he would go and tell Lisianthus of it right away.

She replied,

Nevermind what I mean of it. But I am not going to depend on you all anymore. I gave you all enough time, didn't I?

Alex felt hurt by the shapeshifter's words and replied,

What do you mean by that?  We've been trying our best and it's not like Lycoris' life is in danger.  We'll find her eventually.  We just need to be patient.

The shapeshifter was a little angered as Alex said that they needed to be patient and without thinking much on her words, she replied angrily,

I don't have that much time to spare. You can be patient all you want but I can't.


She paused for a moment, calming herself down. Obviously, she was talking about her condition although she wished she didn't say that. She continued,

I'll find a way to make that queen speak. No matter how long you wait, she's not going to reveal anything unless she's forced to.

Realizing what the shapeshifter was alluding to, he replied,

Wait.  Just give me one more day and I'll see if I can talk to Sia myself.  Or push Ryan to talk to her and find out what we need to know.

The shapeshifter groaned to herself but figuring that one more day wouldn't hurt, she replied,

Fine. One more day. But if you come out with nothing, I'll do what I can to get out the information from her.

Alex was relieved that the shapeshifter agreed and he replied,

I understand.  I'll do everything I can to find out where Lycoris is and let you know what's going on.

The shapeshifter replied,

We'll see about that. Tomorrow afternoon is your limit. If you don't contact me by then and tell me any new, useful information, then I will take things into my own hands. Understood?

Alex sighed sadly and replied,

Yes, I understand.


He then shut off the telepathy and looked sadly at Nerine, not knowing what to do.

Nerine noticed the sad look over Alex's face and worried, she looked at him gently and said,

"What's the matter, Alex? That was the shapeshifter, wasn't it? What did she say?"

Alex nodded and after taking a deep breath, he told Nerine of his conversation with the shapeshifter, not leaving out one detail.  After he was done, he asked,

"What do I do, darling?  I don't want to push Sia but the shapeshifter is running out of patience."

Nerine was worried as Alex told her of his conversation with the shapeshifter and quickly thinking, she replied,

"You need to talk to Ryan about this, at least. I mean, I am not sure about Sia's state at the moment and whether you can talk to her but surely Ryan can, right? I mean, it's for her own safety after all. That shapeshifter may try to harm her."

Alex nodded and replied, "Yeah, that's true.  Ryan can talk to Sia since he probably has the best chance of getting through to her.  I should talk to him now.  I-I don't want Sia harmed.  But do you think I should talk to Lady Penelope or Duchess Irene first?"

Nerine thought about it and replied,

"Maybe Lady Penelope? She could talk to her daughter and try to convince her to be a little more patient, right? Although do you think the shapeshifter might be angry at you for telling her mother anything?"
