Irene smiled a little to the couple and replied, "Good morning, you two. I think we all had a restful night here."

As Alex and Nerine took their seats, Avi looked at Alex and with a little nervousness, he said,

"Duchess Irene told us what happened last night. How could have that duke known that you were coming?"

Obviously, Irene had only told them the basic idea of what happened without any details.

Alex looked at Nerine and telepathically asked her,

Should we tell them, darling, or not say anything for now?  It looks like Duchess Irene didn't tell them the details.


(I'm not feeling well so I'm going to get some sleep for the night.  Hopefully, I'll feel better tomorrow.  Nite, nite, Love.  ^^)

(Ahh nite, nite, phoenix and I hope you feel better tomorrow. )

Nerine sighed inwardly and replied,

I-I don't think it's a good idea to tell them what happened. We haven't talked to Sia yet and we aren't exactly sure why she did what she did so it's best to keep things quiet for now.

Alex gave Nerine a look of understanding and turning back to Avi, he sighed sadly and replied,

"We don't know.  We're all quite shocked and still trying to understand what happened ourselves."

Avi sighed sadly and replied, "I am only worried about Lycoris. Who knows how that duke is treating her and where she is now?"

Rosaline furrowed her eyebrows and trying to comfort everyone, she said, "Lycoris is a strong girl. I am sure she'll hold up and who knows? She may contact anyone of us soon to tell us about her location."

Bryan nodded and replied, "Yup, my love is right.  I'm sure that Lycoris will make contact soon and then we can find out where she is and try to reach her."

Irene nodded silently although she wasn't that optimistic. She remained silent for a moment then said,

"Lisianthus isn't at the castle. She headed last night somewhere for work although she didn't mention where and she hasn't returned yet."

Rosaline looked a little concerned and replied, "She isn't at the castle? But why didn't she tell anyone where she was going, or that she was leaving in the first place?"

Irene shrugged and replied, "She probably had some urgent work to take care of. She'll be back soon, I am sure."

(I got your PM.  Thanks for trying to help but I feel like until I get some good news, I'm not going to be feeling very hopeful for a while.  I just keep getting bad news and I'm tired of it.  :/)

Alex looked to Irene and asked telepathically,

Sia didn't come back at all last night, even after meeting with Lycoris and Duke Collins?

(Aww I understand. I really pray that things improve for you really soon, phoenix. )

Irene replied to Alex telepathically,

No, she didn't. I think she may have stayed with Lycoris and the duke wherever they are for the night. It could be her way of telling the duke that she had her eyes on him so he wouldn't dare to come near Lycoris, let alone hurt her.

Alex replied,

I see.  At least Sia is protecting Lycoris and that's good.  


He looked relieved and smiled a bit.

Irene gave Alex a small smile as well and then asked the maid nearby to fetch breakfast. She then commented,

"Breakfast will be here soon and hopefully Ryan will be here by then."

(I have the day off today so I'll post now.  XD)

Soon after, Ryan arrived in the dining room and bowing to everyone, he then took a seat at the table.  Bryan then smiled and said,

"It looks like we just need to wait for breakfast then."

(Coolies. XD)

Irene smiled and nodded, and a few minutes later, the maids arrived carrying trays of breakfast. They laid it in front of the party then took their leave.

Irene then said, "Breakfast looks good so let's start eating, everyone."

Alex nodded and he began to eat, followed by Bryan and Ryan.  As Ryan ate, he wondered where Lisianthus was but not knowing that she had yet to return to the castle, he assumed that she decided to stay in her room.

(I'll be gaming as well so I might be slow in my posts.  XD)

As the party ate, Irene realized that Ryan didn't know about Lisianthus' whereabouts, she contacted him telepathically and said,

Lisianthus isn't at the castle. She hasn't returned since yesterday so she's probably still with Lycoris wherever they are.

Ryan looked at Irene and telepathically replied,

Oh I see.  I thought for sure that Sia would have returned but it's good that she's staying with Lycoris.

Irene replied,

She's probably protecting Lycoris from the duke. Of course, she won't be able to stay there for long and she'll return tonight at most but I suppose it's a message for the duke not to come near her.

Ryan replied,

That's good.  I don't want that duke to go anywhere near Lycoris.  Do you think that Sia's going to have her moved at some point?

Irene replied,

I am not sure but something is telling me that Lisianthus won't keep her and the duke in one place for long. She may have fooled the duke or promised him something when she convinced him to move Lycoris away from us but Lisinathus doesn't trust him and she definitely won't leave Lycoris in his hands.

Ryan replied,

That's good.


Realizing something, he then said,

When Sia realizes that the shapeshifter isn't a prisoner anymore, do you think she's going to connect her escape to us?

Irene sighed and replied,

Naturally. The soldiers will definitely tell them that the time gap between her capture and her escape was quite short so naturally, she will only realize that we are the ones behind freeing her. And you can imagine what that will do, unfortunately...

Ryan replied,

Yeah but we couldn't leave her there.  I might not like the shapeshifter but she was helping to rescue Lycoris and it would have felt wrong just to leave her behind like that.  And I know she and Sia have issues but her capture wouldn't have solved anything.

Irene replied,

I understand but one of the biggest reasons behind Lisianthus' anger at us is our cooperation with the shapeshifter. Lisianthus sees that as betrayal, that we trusted the shapeshifter at a time when we kept her in the dark about things. Of course, we had our reasons but she doesn't see things but this way.

Ryan replied,

That's true but will Sia come around?  It's not like any of us meant to hurt her.  We all know how she can be at times.

Irene replied,

Only time can tell, Ryan. I can't expect anything at the moment. But for now, we can only hope that Lycoris reaches out to her and convinces her to calm down so we can all sit and talk.
