Romance RP

Ryan was about to reply angrily back at the shapeshifter when Alex held his hands up and said,

"Please, calm down, both of you.  Anger won't get us anywhere.  What's done has been done, right?  We need to figure out how to rescue Lycoris."

The shapeshifter didn't respond although her face said it all; that she was quite angry and frustrated. Irene didn't look to be in any better spirits, as the whole situation about Lisianthus depressed her.

The carriage was soon approaching Cephiron and the town was coming to the view of the party.

Alex looked to Lady Penelope, his eyes pleading her to help with the situation.  As he couldn't come up with anything else, he hoped that she would have an idea.

(Sorry I wasn't able to post yesterday at all. I had this pretty bad cold and I had to stay in bed all day. :/ I am feeling slightly better today so I'll try to post when I can. ^^)

Lady Penelope sighed sadly but she couldn't think of anything to say to calm everyone down. With her eyes, it was as though she were telling Alex to give everything time and let things calm on their own.

The carriage soon made it into Cephiron and Irene asked the driver to take them to the duke's other house.

(Awww I see.  I'm glad to hear that you're feeling better and if you need more rest, I understand.  ^^)

As the party headed towards Duke Collins' other house, he thought to communicate with Nerine and said,

Darling, are you there?  It's me again.

(Thanks. ^^ I'm here now and I'll post for as long as I can. XD)

Nerine received Alex's message and replied immediately,

Yes, I am here, Alex. How is everything on your side?

(Ok.  XD)

Alex then replied to Nerine, telling her what had happened and that they were now heading to Duke Collins' house in Cephiron.  Although it was a longshot, the party hoped that Lycoris might be there.

Nerine replied,

I see. I hope you find something there although it's not likely they would be there. But at least you could save the shapeshifter, right?

Alex replied,

Yeah, we were able to rescue her and she seems all right.  At least that duke didn't totally win.


He paused and then asked,

What do you think we should do, darling?  If Lycoris is not at his house, should I continue communicating with her or try a different tactic?

Nerine was thoughtfully silent for a few moments then replied,

Try contacting her again and...we should talk with Sia. I know she's the one hiding her at the moment and she's the one who warned the duke but...I am sure she'll calm down at one point and tell us where she is.

Alex replied,

I'll continue to attempt contacts with Lycoris but as to Sia...Did I tell you what happened when she and Ryan talked earlier?  He tried to apologize to her and everything but she was...

Nerine became concerned and furrowing her eyebrows, she replied,

She-she was what? What happened between them?

Alex took an inward breath and then told Nerine what Ryan had told the others about his encounter with Lisianthus and how it all went.  He hoped that Nerine would have a better idea of how to deal with Lisianthus, as Ryan had tried his best but yet had gotten nowhere.

Nerine sighed inwardly and replied,

Well, we have to remember that she's still angry at Ryan. I mean, she hasn't calmed down yet. I am sure she'll be better if we give her a day or two to think about what she's done?

Alex replied,

So you believe that we should only be patient with her and she'll come around?  Under normal circumstances, I'd be willing to do that but if Sia doesn't come around, well, you know.

Nerine replied tentatively, 

Alex, she's still Sia. She isn't our enemy. We-we know how hurt she's been feeling lately although I am definitely not defending her on what she's done. But you know that she won't hurt Lycoris, right? She can never do that.

Alex replied,

I know.  It's just that if she's refusing to help us with Lycoris because of Ryan, then she's being petty, you know?  I know that sounds mean but it's just the way I view her actions.

Nerine didn't like how Alex talked about Lisianthus, as she was still her cousin and didn't want to see her like that. But as she knew that Alex had his reasons, she calmed herself down and replied,

When Ryan talked to her, he didn't show her that he knew anything, right? I mean, maybe if he had talked to her about it and asked her why she did that, she might have had a good reason.

Alex replied,

Yeah, Ryan didn't reveal to Sia that he wanted to bring up the topic of Lycoris.  I suppose he hoped that she'd bring it up on her own but she didn't.  She did look to be leaving the castle, though.  We assume it was to get the shapeshifter.

Nerine was silent for a moment then realizing something, she replied,

To get the shapeshifter? Or perhaps...perhaps she was heading to where Lycoris is? I-I mean, she may want to make sure that Lycoris is alright for herself.

Alex thought about Nerine's words and realized that she could be right.  He replied,

That could very well be the case but it's not like Sia would just tell us where Lycoris is and that Duke Collins definitely wouldn't.

Nerine replied,

I-I know but...at least you know that Lycoris is safe and that duke won't dare to hurt her if Sia is there. We just need Sia to calm down a bit and I am sure she'll think again about what she's done and tell us where she is.

Alex replied, 

Yes, that's true.  Thank you for your help, darling.  I'll talk to the others about this in case we don't find Lycoris at Duke Collins' other house and then see what we can do.  

Nerine replied,

Alright. Please let me know if anything else happens, ok? I'll be waiting for you all at the academy.


She shut off the telepathy and meanwhile, the carriage made it at the duke's house. It seemed quiet and dark, with only a couple of soldiers standing at the door for the usual security.

Ryan looked outside and said, "It looks quiet but there is a chance that Lycoris could be there.  That duke may intentionally be making it look like there's no one inside."

Alex added, "There are only a couple of soldiers so how about a sleep spell on them and then we'll take down the defenses and go inside?"
