Romance RP

Lady Penelope had a sad look in her eyes and replied,

"It was once a very beautiful world but the war completely destroyed it."

The shapeshifter commented, "Not for long, though. This is what we're here for. Lycoris' powers will bring it back to life."

Lycoris took a breath, trying to be as brave as she could be.

Ryan replied, "But I don't understand why Lycoris' powers would help restore the devils' world.  Are they special in any way?  I mean, wouldn't any sorcerer's powers do in that case?"

The shapeshifter shook her head to Ryan and replied,

"Of course not. Lycoris' powers aren't like any other. Do you know how much power would it take to restore a whole world and keep it running for years to come? No sorcerer in the world can have that much power. Only Lycoris does; the powers that were put in her are equivalent to powers of thousands of powerful sorcerers. For that very reason she exists; for that very reason my father overcame all the obstacles to keep her alive."

Ryan looked at Lycoris in amazement and replied, "Really?  I knew that Lycoris was pretty powerful already but to have the equivalent of thousands of sorcerers' powers..."

Alex added, "No wonder she would be able to help restore the devils' world."

The shapeshifter nodded and replied, "If she were just like any other sorcerer, do you think she would have been worth a great war breaking between the most powerful worlds? Of course not."

Lycoris was silent although the talk about her powers made her a little nervous.

(Oh if I'm slow in posting, it's because I'm gaming and chatting with my bf as well as posting here.  I have my hands full.  XD)

Alex gently touched Lycoris' hands and wanting to steer the conversation, he asked,

"So what do we need to do?  Or specifically, what does Lycoris need to do?"

(Ahh no problem, take your time. XD)

The shapeshifter replied, "Not much. She just has to stand on that altar," she pointed to a beautiful but old altar near the waterfall of the cave, then continued, 

"And my mom will take care of the ritual to take her powers and give them to the generators. Then it will be all over."

Lycoris nodded slowly although she was shaking in fear as the moment came closer and closer. She waited for Alex or Ryan to lead her to the altar.

Ryan could feel Lycoris shaking fearfully and looking gently at her, he asked,

"Are you all right, Lycoris?  Do you need a moment?"

Lycoris shook her head and taking a deep breath, she replied,

"No, no. Please lead the way, Ryan. I-I am ok."

Ryan nodded and replied, "All right then."

Alex added, "Let's both escort her."

Ryan nodded and together, the two of them led Lycoris to the altar so that Lady Penelope would take care of the rest."

Once there, Lycoris stood on the altar, trying to slow down her accelerating heartbeats, and the pain that was starting to show in her head. The shapeshifter looked at Alex and Ryan and said,

"You might want to say your last goodbyes because once this is over, she might not be there anymore. And-and stand back after that."

Alex and Ryan nodded and taking the lead, Alex approached Lycoris and holding her hands, he said,

"Lycoris, I do hope that you'll survive this although I know the chances are slim.  I'm proud of you for taking on this sacrifice although I will miss you so much.  Things definitely won't be the same without you."

Lycoris smiled softly despite her sadness and fear, and squeezing Alex's hands gently, she replied,

"I will miss you too, Alex. Thank you for everything you've done for me and I can never forget that you are the main reason I could enjoy the outside world and life for the short time that I had. Please take care of Nerine, ok?"

Alex nodded and replied, "I will.  I promise.  I love you and I won't ever forget you, Lycoris."

He slowly let go of Lycoris' hands.  Then Ryan approached her and holding her hands, he sadly said,

"Lycoris, I-I wish things didn't have to end like this.  I-I wanted us to spend more time together."

Lycoris tried her best to keep a smile although it was a sad one. She replied, 

"I-I am sorry, Ryan. I wish things didn't have to end like this either but...maybe this is for the best. Please take of yourself and of Sia...and remember that I loved you. I truly did. I still do and always will."

Ryan softly replied, "And I love you, my angel.  You'll always be my love and no one can ever take your place."

He paused and asked, "May I kiss you?  I want to kiss you one last time before we part."

Lycoris blushed deeply as she heard Ryan's request and hesitated, but then thinking it wouldn't hurt, as this was the last moment she and Ryan might ever share, she nodded slowly but didn't say anything.

Ryan approached Lycoris and wrapping his arms around her, he leaned in for a sweet loving kiss on the lips, pouring all of his love and passion into it.  He hoped that there could still be a way to save her and held on to it, refusing to let it go.

Lycoris' tears spilled as Ryan leaned in to kiss her, as though she were finally admitting inside that she didn't want to be separated from Ryan. She returned the kiss with all the love in her heart, wrapping her arms around Ryan's neck and pouring all her emotions into the kiss.

As the couple kissed, Alex watched on and there was a certain sadness inside him.  He, too, loved Lycoris although it was clear to him that Lycoris clearly loved Ryan and he loved her in return.  Alex hoped that Lycoris would be saved by the miracle, even if it was Ryan's love for her that would do it.

The couple continued kissing lovingly for a couple of moments before the kiss eventually came to an end. Lycoris sadly said,

"Please take care of yourself, Ryan. I-I will always love you. Please remember me."

Ryan replied, "I will, my angel.  You'll always be in my heart and mind and nothing will erase you from me.  I love you always."

He gave her one last loving kiss and then slowly, he moved away from Lycoris, the sadness clear in his eyes.

Lycoris smiled softly, sadness clear all over her face but still managing to maintain her smile. If she were to go away in a few moments, she wanted to go away with a smile.

Once Alex and Ryan moved away from her, the shapeshifter looked to her mother and nodded to her, telling her to start. Lady Penelope took a deep breath and started chanting the words to start the ritual of sacrificing Lycoris' powers, unaware of what was about to happen.

Alex and Ryan watched, wondering what would happen but hoping that Lycoris would survive somehow.  Ryan especially felt anxious and scared, as he wanted to save Lycoris, no matter the cost.

Lady Penelope was proceeding forward with the ritual, and her words were beginning to take effect when all of a sudden, there was a large and powerful dark energy ball coming right at her without any warning and she screamed in pain as the attack hit.

The shapeshifter was alarmed and her eyes turned immediately to Lycoris, who was the source of the attack, and the soft smile over her face completely changed to a darker, much colder expression.
