Alex nodded and after a moment of silence, he continued,

I know you're only doing what's best and I know that's what Lycoris is doing, too.  At the same time, I just can't help feeling sad.

Ryan gave Lisianthus a small smile and replied, "Hey, you can tell me.  If there's anything I can do to help, even if it's just to listen, I'm here for you."

The shapeshifter replied,

I understand and it would be unfair of me to ask you to feel otherwise. I...I do appreciate that you're helping us do the right thing, Alex, even when you don't like it.

Lisianthus couldn't help but smile softly at Ryan's care, and sighing a little, she said,

"Nothing new, I guess. Just as expected, the people are thrilled that the chancellor escaped. There are news that some groups are trying to look for him, to help him take 'back' the throne."

Alex nodded and he smiled a bit at the shapeshifter.  He then asked,

If Lycoris does survive the ritual, what will happen afterwards?  Will she be free to go?  I know the chance is very small but still...

Ryan raised an eyebrow and replied, "I see.  I should be surprised but yet I'm not.  Once everything calms down, we'll figure out a way to please the people.  Picking a new chancellor would help ease unrest."

The shapeshifter was a little surprised by the question but she replied,

Well, if she does survive, of course she will be free to go. I would want nothing more from her.

Lisianthus nodded and replied, "I guess that might help a bit and it would take a lot off my shoulders, honestly. It's becoming a lot of work having to do things on my own without a chancellor's help."

Alex replied,

Ok.  If she somehow survives, then Lycoris can live with Mom and Dad.  I'm sure they'd love to have her at home and I know she'll be well cared for.

Ryan nodded and replied, "That's true.  In the meantime, tell me something, beautiful.  What would help ease your troubles?  I know you're dealing with a lot right now so if I can help you, I will."

The shapeshifter replied,

Alright but don't have too much hope about that. The chance is very slim.

Lisianthus smiled a little and said, 

"Getting everything resolved, perhaps? I appreciate that you want to make me feel better though, cutie. Things have been really getting out of hand lately..."

Alex nodded and replied,

I understand.  I'm just looking at all the possibilities.

Ryan nodded and looking deep in thought, he replied, "If you could choose one problem to resolve at this moment, which one would you want?"

The shapeshifter replied,

I understand.


She looked at the time and noticing that it was getting close to lunchtime, she said,

Do you want to help me prepare lunch? It's about time.

Lisianthus sighed sadly and replied,

"Alex's and Lycoris' of course. I am really worried about them and I don't know what to do anymore. I feel terrible that I am not able to find them..."

Alex nodded and replied,

Sure, I'll help.


Looking to the others, Alex said, "It's almost lunchtime so we're going to go ahead and prepare lunch for everyone."

Ryan felt saddened, as he knew where they were and kept that information from Lisianthus.  He replied,

"If you knew where they were but they were ok with being away, would you force them to return?"

Lady Penelope looked curiously at Alex and asked, "Do you want me to help you, darling?"

The shapeshifter got up then and said, "You stay where you are, mom. I'll help him out."

Lisianthus wondered where Ryan was going with his questions and furrowing her eyebrows, she replied,

"Well, I am pretty sure they aren't ok being with that shapeshifter or the captain, knowing what they are planning. It's my duty to help them out and get them out of there."

Alex nodded and getting up as well, he added, "We'll be fine."

He looked to Lycoris and asked, "You'll be ok with Mom and Dad to keep you company, right, Lycoris?"

Ryan was worried that this would be Lisianthus' reply and he replied, "Beautiful, have you ever considered that there might be another side to this situation?  Something that we haven't considered?"

(Getting sleepy here so I'll get off for the night now and go to sleep.  I'll check back tomorrow and post again.  Nite, nite, Love.  ^^)

Lycoris smiled softly to Alex and replied, 

"Yes, I'll be fine."

The shapeshifter then led the way to the kitchen so they could take care of preparing lunch for everyone.

Lisianthus couldn't understand where Ryan was going with this line of questioning but obviously, he was going somewhere. She raised an eyebrow and replied,

"Something like what? And don't talk to me about saving the devils' world and all that nonsense. I don't believe that Lycoris should ever have to do such a thing and I am sure that deep inside, she doesn't want to do it. She's just emotionally shaken and that's why she may be ok with it at the moment."

Alex gave Lycoris a kiss on the cheek and then he followed the shapeshifter as they headed to the kitchen.  Once there, he asked,

"So what should we prepare for lunch?"

Ryan replied, "Do you truly believe that?  You think that Lycoris isn't thinking through the situation with a clear head?"

The shapeshifter shrugged and replied,

"I haven't thought of something actually. What do you think? Maybe it's your turn to choose."

Lisianthus replied, "Yes, I do believe that. You know Lycoris is too kind and that shapeshifter is probably using that. Or who knows? Maybe she's blackmailing her all the time that if she doesn't do as she says, she'll hurt Alex. You forget that he's held hostage there too?"

Alex nodded and looking thoughtful, he replied, "How about cream sauce spaghetti with seafood?  And we can make salad and garlic bread along with it.  I think Lycoris would like it very much."

He smiled sadly as his mind thought of Lycoris.

Ryan replied, "But what if Alex is with them out of his own free will?  I mean, I know the chances are remote but what if that's the case?  Wouldn't that change things?"

(If you don't have exams today, would you mind if I ran something by you?  It's work related and all.  XD)

(Ahh sure. XD Sorry I am a little late today. Taking care of more studies and all. XD)

The shapeshifter sighed inwardly as she noticed Alex's look but nodding, she said, "Sure. I can take care of the salad and seafood. You may take care of the spaghetti and garlic bread. How about that?"

Lisianthus replied, "I strongly doubt that, Ryan. Alex helping the shapeshifter? That's nonsense."

She paused then furrowing her eyebrows, she said, "Why are you asking about all of this?"

Alex nodded and replied, "Sure, I can take care of that."

He then took out the materials and ingredients he would need to make lunch.

Ryan replied, "I just wondered what your opinion would be if there were extenuating circumstances and all.  I guess I got my answer."

He felt a little sad, as it seemed that Lisianthus wouldn't budge from her opinion.

(Ok. XD)

The shapeshifter took out the ingredients needed as well and set to work, cooking the seafood and cutting the salad and preparing it. The two of them worked hard to prepare a delicious lunch for everyone.

Lisianthus wasn't convinced that Ryan was only asking curiously and his sadness at her answers only made her wonder more. She carefully asked,

"Ryan, do you know something that I don't know of?"

(Just sent the message.  XD)

Alex went ahead and boiled the noodles for the spaghetti as well as made the cream sauce.  Then he took care to bake the garlic bread, making sure that the food would be especially delicious for Lycoris.

Ryan replied, "Maybe but if I did, would you be able to keep an open mind?  That's important to me that you can."

(Ahh cool. I just responded and all. XD)

The shapeshifter continued working on her share, doing her best to make it taste delicious and tasty. She was soon finishing up, with the seafood almost cooked and the salad all prepared.

She turned to Alex and asked, "How are things coming along? I am almost done here."

Lisianthus furrowed her eyebrows and replied,

"That depends on what kind of information it is, and why you haven't told me before now."

(Yup, I got it.  Thanks.  You truly are a wonderful friend.  ^^   )

Alex turned to the shapeshifter and replied, "I'm almost done here as well."

The noodles were tender and the water had been drained from the pot.  The sauce was all done and the garlic bread was almost done baking.

Ryan replied, "If I did have more information, like where Lycoris and Alex were, but I chose not to tell because I knew how you would respond if I had said something.  I'm only talking hypothetically, of course."

(Aww thanks. I wish you luck tomorrow and everything works out as you planned. ^^)

The shapeshifter nodded and continued working until the salad and seafood were all done. She waited for Alex to finish up as well so they could put the last touches, prepare the individual plates and lay everything out on the dining table.

Lisianthus was surprised to hear such words from Ryan, and although he mentioned talking hypothetically, she was almost sure that he had such information. Trying to keep her cool however, she replied,

"If you know something, Ryan, say it. How I react isn't really within my hands at this point."

(Thanks.  I was feeling a little nervous but getting your reply made me feel more at ease.  ^^)

Alex finished with his portion of the food and then he and the shapeshifter placed the food on the plates along with taking out utensils and glasses of juice.

After everything was laid out on the table, Alex asked, "Should I call on the others?"

Ryan replied, "I want you to promise me first that you'll keep an open mind.  That's very important to me."

It was the only condition he had if he were to tell Lisianthus anything more.

(No problem and I am glad I helped. ^^)

The shapeshifter nodded and replied,

"Yes, do so. Everything is all ready here."

Lisianthus took a deep breath and trying to remain calm, she replied,

"I'll do my best. That's all I can promise at the moment."

Alex nodded and heading to the living room, he saw the others and said, "Lunch is all ready."

Edward smiled and replied, "Great.  Let's eat then."

Alex approached Lycoris and said, "We made cream sauce spaghetti along with some seafood, salad, and garlic bread.  I hope you'll like it."

Ryan nodded and after taking a deep breath himself, he replied,

"I know where Lycoris and Alex are.  I've known for a while but I couldn't tell you because certain people would have been compromised and it would have been difficult to explain."
