Alex nodded and replied, "Ok.  In the meantime, I'll get your dress and tidy the room."

He then left the bathroom, closing the door to give Lycoris her privacy.

Ryan smiled softly and replied, "You look beautiful as always.  Let's go downstairs and get something to eat."

He gently held on to Lisianthus' arm and then led the way downstairs to the dining room.

Lycoris got off her clothes and got into the bath, letting the warm water refresh her for the day. She took her bath then once done, she got out, dried herself and put on the bathrobe. She then reached out for the door and opening it slightly, she called out,

"Alex? I am done."

Lisianthus followed Ryan to the dining room, where everyone was present. Duchess Irene and Duke Collins had news of what happened, naturally judging by their positions, although none of them dared to say anything to the others.

Alex heard Lycoris call out to him and taking the dress, he entered the bathroom.  There, he brushed her hair and then handing her the dress, he said,

"Here's your dress, Lycoris.  I picked out an emerald green one for you."

As the couple arrived in the dining room, Ryan helped Lisianthus into her seat and then he took a seat beside her.  However, he didn't say anything, waiting for someone else to speak first.

Lycoris took the dress from Alex and smiling softly, she replied,

"Thanks, Alex. I am sure it will look wonderful. I'll change quickly."

She closed the door and changed out of the bathrobe and into the emerald green dress Alex fetched for her. Once she was all done, she reached out for the door and opened it, calling out,

"All done. How do I look?"

Avi smiled to the couple and as he was unaware of the tension in the room, he said,

"Good morning, you two. Did you have a good night?"

He was eager to ask about how things went with the shapeshifter but didn't want to bring it up so quickly.

Alex entered the bathroom and smiling softly, he replied, "You look beautiful, Lycoris, absolutely amazing."

He took the hairbrush and helped Lycoris to brush her hair.

(Random but I'm imagining that Lycoris looks a bit like Anna from Frozen at the moment.  XD)

Ryan looked hesitant to reply but after a moment, he said,

"It was all right.  How about you?"

(lol I wonder why is that. XD)

Lycoris smiled softly and waited as Alex brushed her hair. She happily said, 

"I owe continuing to look good to you, Alex. You take great care of me."

Avi smiled and said, "It was a peaceful night."

He paused then tentatively asked, with his smile still, "Umm how did things go with the shapeshifter? You questioned her last night, didn't you?"

Lisianthus bit her lower lip, as it was obvious that no one had an idea about anything and she had to reveal what happened to them all.

(Ahh the green dress.  I'm imagining that Lycoris is wearing a similar dress.  XD)

Alex smiled softly and replied, "I'm happy to hear that, Lycoris.  Are you ready to go downstairs to have breakfast with the others?"

Ryan replied, "Well, we did question her but we got nothing."

He didn't say anything more, hoping that Avi would drop the subject.

(Ahh I see. XD Yup, I see what you mean now. XD)

Lycoris nodded and replied, "Yup, I am. Mum and dad will come after breakfast, right? And I sure hope the shapeshifter is feeling better this morning."

Avi looked disappointed and was about to respond when Lisianthus quietly said to Ryan, "No need to hide things, Ryan."

She took a breath then looking at everyone, she said, "The shapeshifter escaped last night. Obviously, her helpers could reach into the castle and get her out of here."

Alex nodded and replied, "Ahh yes, Mom and Dad will come here first thing.  They might even try to come a bit early to check up on all of us.  And yes, I hope the shapeshifter is feeling better, too.  I'm sure she is.  Lady Penelope probably stayed with her last night."

Bryan was surprised to hear the news and replied, "What?  But how?  This is all so strange."

Lycoris nodded and replied, "I am sure. She is such a strong woman after all so she'll recover fast."

She waited for Alex to finish brushing her hair so they could head downstairs together.

Lisianthus sighed and said, "The soldiers were all unconscious. Whoever sneaked here did it well and could knock out all the soldiers swiftly then get the shapeshifter out of there."

Avi was shocked as well and afraid, as he was worried about Lycoris' fate because of this. Meanwhile, Duke Collins spoke angrily,

"This is a joke and complete irresponsibility. This is the third time a prisoner escapes from the castle, not to mention that Lady Lycoris herself was taken from here! Where are we staying, on the streets?!"

Alex finished brushing Lycoris' hair and then styled it in a beautiful braided updo.  Once he was done, he said,

"There, you're all done and ready for the day."

(And yes, Lycoris' hairstyle now looks like Anna's in that scene.  lol)

Ryan sighed and replied, "We'll figure out what to do.  There's an investigation going on.  Whoever got the shapeshifter free was very skilled."

(lol Yup, now Lycoris and Anna look quite similar. XD)

Lycoris smiled softly and replied, "Thanks, Alex. I am sure I look wonderful now. I may not see it but I can definitely feel it."

Duke Collins replied angrily, "Hah! An investigation. Tell me about it. And how did the investigation for Lady Penelope's escape go? Or the chancellor's? Or even Lady Lycoris herself?! This is absurd!"

Nerine remained quiet as she didn't want to make things tenser, although she knew she'd have to look worried and panicked at one point about Alex to avoid being suspected of anything.

(lol  Yup.  XD)

Alex replied, "I'm happy and I'm sure the others will love how you look, too.  Now how about we go downstairs and have breakfast?  I can cook for everyone if Lady Penelope wishes to stay with her daughter."

Ryan replied evenly, "Getting angry isn't going to get them back."

Bryan nodded and replied, "Ryan is right.  Perhaps we should all think of a plan at this point?  We've been on the defensive all this time but perhaps we should change tactics?"

Lycoris nodded happily and replied, "Lead the way then."

She waited for Alex to lead the way downstairs. Meanwhile, surprisingly, Lady Penelope and the shapeshifter were both downstairs. The shapeshifter was sitting on the table while her mother prepared food for everyone. She definitely looked better than how she was last night after getting food and rest although not 100% well yet.

Rosaline turned to Bryan and asked, "But how do we do that? We don't even know where they are yet."

Avi sighed and nodding, he said, "And it's not like we have something to blackmail them with or something."

As Alex and Lycoris arrived downstairs, Alex was surprised to see both Lady Penelope and the shapeshifter.  As Alex helped Lycoris into her seat, he said,

"Good morning.  How are you feeling?"

He looked at the shapeshifter with worry in his eyes.

Bryan looked thoughtful and replied, "Maybe I can use my contacts?  I mean, since I'm a pretty well-known musician, I've made friends with some pretty powerful people.  They may have some ideas that we haven't used yet."

(Getting sleepy here so I'll get off for the night now and go to sleep.  I'll check back tomorrow and post again.  Nite, nite, Love.  ^^)

The shapeshifter looked up at the couple who entered and nodding, she said,

"I'm better. Not 100% fine yet but I'll be soon enough."

Lady Penelope smiled happily at the couple and said, "Good morning, dears. How was your night?"

Lisianthus sighed and replied, "You can do so if you wish, Bryan but I am not optimistic myself. We contacted kings and queens and they helped us look for them but all in vain. And the only card we had remaining in our pocket-the shapeshifter-we couldn't use it well."

Alex replied, "We slept well last night and I'm glad to hear the same for you both."

He looked to Lady Penelope and added, "I would have made breakfast for everyone.  I know that we should all still be getting rest after last night."

Bryan replied sadly, "That's too bad.  I wish there was something we could do.  Maybe we can use that captain somehow?"

Lady Penelope smiled kindly at Alex and replied,

"It's alright, darling. I woke up as usual today and I thought I should have breakfast ready for everyone. I'm almost done."

The shapeshifter looked at Alex and Lycoris and said, looking a little serious, "We need to talk a little by ourselves after breakfast."

She remembered how Ryan knew their location and wondered whether the couple had knowledge all along of that, and why they didn't tell her if that was the case.

Lisianthus replied, "We don't know his location either. And in any case, that shapeshifter doesn't care the least about him and he doesn't know where she is himself."

Alex looked curiously at the shapeshifter, wondering why she needed to talk to them privately, but nodding, he replied,

"Ok, that'll be fine."

Bryan replied, "I see.  This has all become so confusing.  I mean, the shapeshifter not working with the captain should be a good thing, right?"

(Sorry I wasn't able to post at all earlier. I had an exam later during the day but ended up heading to college too early because my mom was pushing me to. :3 Sorry about that. ^^)

The chancellor soon came down as well and bowing respectfully, he said, "Good morning, all. My apologies if I kept you waiting."

Lady Penelope had just finished laying everything for breakfast and happily said, "Not at all, sir. Let's all start, shall we?"

Lisianthus sighed but didn't respond, as she was too stressed thinking about the matter. Irene replied seriously,

"They both have the same goal in the end, Bryan: sacrificing Lycoris' powers and her life in the process. They may not share the same bad intentions but the loss is the same for us in both cases."

(That's ok.  I was preoccupied with gaming and chatting so it's all good.  ^^)

Alex smiled and replied, "Yes, and I must say breakfast looks delicious.  And doesn't Lycoris look quite beautiful this morning?"

He looked on happily at Lycoris.

Bryan nodded and replied, "Yes, I guess that's true."

He looked a little sad, as he couldn't think of any other ideas to help.

Lycoris blushed as she heard Alex's comment and the chancellor smiled. Nodding, he said, "She does. Well, Lady Lycoris always looks beautiful but she looks exceptionally stunning this morning."

Lycoris blushed a little more and shyly said, "Thanks. It's all thanks to Alex. He knows how to make me look really well."

As silence took over everyone else, Avi desperately asked,

"What is this supposed to mean? So it's like they disappeared now? There's nothing we can do and Lycoris will die sooner or later?"

Alex smiled softly and replied, "Your natural beauty always shines through, Lycoris.  I just helped to enhance a little bit more."

He reached out to touch her hand and then began to eat his breakfast.

Bryan replied, "I'm sure that neither Sia nor Ryan will let that happen.  They'll figure something out and I'll do my best to come up with ideas, too.  They must be in the human world but they're hidden very well.  We have to find a way to flush them out."

Lycoris blushed happily and started eating her breakfast as well, getting energy for the day. The others ate as well, enjoying the delicious taste and the company. The shapeshifter was thoughtful, however, as she thought over their situation and wondered whether it would be necessary to move as Ryan knew their location.

Lisianthus frowned and replied, "It's easy to say that, Ryan but the humans' world is huge. If we don't have a bait or something we can force them to reveal their location with, we won't be able to find them."

Irene was silent but she glanced at Ryan thoughtfully. She would need to talk to him privately, as she knew that Ryan did know of their the couple's location, and wondered whether he wasn't planning on revealing anything.

(It's New Year's Eve here so I'll be staying online until midnight to celebrate the new year.  And tomorrow is New Year's Day so I don't have work tomorrow.  ^^)

As Alex ate his breakfast, he commented, "Breakfast is delicious as always, my lady."

Ryan saw the glance that Irene gave him and gave her an understanding look, knowing that she would want to talk to him privately as soon as possible.  He wanted to tell her what had happened when he talked to the shapeshifter last night and see what Irene thought of the matter.
