Legacy: An Animania Story is a game made by a team which is known asL.I.F.E, which is led by Christian Roule. Even if the game engine being used in this game is the RPG Maker 2003, it has some qualities that make the game different from other games in which the said game engine is used, not to mention that there are cameo appearances. They are specifically Sailor Pluto (from Sailor Moon), Ultimecia (from Final Fantasy) and Chronos. At first, when we were still playing the game, we somehow thought of this as a game which is not so good, but after some weeks of playing the game and eventually finishing it, we are glad that we played such amazing game and we look forward to play its sequel.
Since the game is made through RPG Maker 2003, we cannot actually say something nice about it, other than having to say something about two things. Those two things would be some of the pictures used and the face sets used. The pictures that represented chaos, bloodshed and darkness suits very well in the story, as the setting can be matched well with the dark ages in the pages of history. The pictures made me(Atlas only) frightened, as if it really happened in the past. It is remarkable indeed. As for the face sets used, we see some which are amazingly familiar, like Zidane from Final Fantasy, and some other characters.
Apparently, we heard some songs which are strangely familiar. It is something that we did not expect out from a game such as this one. The track is used appropriately to the scenes where it is played. It is noticeable that in each world map, there is a different music played, which is a very nice thing about the game.
The aim of the story is for you to direct Animé and Tsunami's party to the base of Mount Quaf, the home of the Kokon, their people. There are five side quests you can undertake along the journey, which will end when you reach Mount Quaf. It has a very nice story flow, not to mention that some bosses are pretty hard to finish. However, some events in the battles, such as battle conversations, are found uncomfortable for us. It takes more of the time to see more of the story flow itself than fighting evil enemies on the road. Other than that inconvenience, everything is okay. The crystal saving system is also something that they must improve on. We recommend that there would be three different colors for each crystal, or use other ways besides the crystals.
Overall, it is a nice game. Despite the inconveniences we had, we gladly recommend this game to avid gamers who loves to play fantasy games.
