Matthew nodded and replied, "Same here.  We're doing this for Lycoris, after all.  Well, we told Ryan and your mom, so they'll make sure they stay put."

Alex escorted Lycoris into the bathroom and then guided her hands to where the bathtub, towels, and bathrobe were.  Then he said, "Ok, when you're done, you just knock on the door like usual and I'll give you your clothes."

Anjela nodded and replied, "I hope so. They wouldn't hold out on their own with just the two of them out there."

The two of them continued walking through the forest and things continued to be too quiet.

Lycoris nodded and replied, "I will. I won't take long."

She closed the door then started taking her bath after having taken off her clothes.

Matthew continued to walk beside Anjela, keeping ever vigilant of his surroundings.

As Lycoris was taking her bath, Alex took out a pale yellow dress as well as matching hair ribbons for Lycoris.  He laid out the clothes and then made the bed, making the room as tidy as possible.

He then waited for Lycoris to finish.

(Getting sleepy so I'll get off for the night now but I'll post again tomorrow.  Nite, nite, Love.  ^^)

Anjela and Matthew continued to walk peacefully for a few more minutes, before the atmosphere suddenly started changing. The trees around them suddenly showed hostile expressions, and their roots underground seemed to lengthen to surround the couple. Anjela frowned and taking a fighting stance, she said,

"Matt, ready yourself. The show is about to start."

Lycoris took her bath, refreshing herself and getting ready for the day. She soon finished up and after getting out of the bath, she dried herself and put on her bathrobe. Approaching the door carefully, she knocked on it and called out, "Alex? I am done."

Matthew nodded and readying himself in a fighting stance, he said,

"I'm ready when you are."

Alex heard Lycoris call out for him and carrying her dress, he approached the bathroom door.  He slowly opened it and said,

"Hey, Lycoris.  I have your dress here.  You can get changed and then let me know when you're done."

He handed the dress over to Lycoris.

Anjela nodded and the trees suddenly turned into moving monsters, attacking the couple with their branches as sharp weapons. Anjela frowned and said, "Now!"

She summoned fireballs fir started attacking the trees, setting them on fire.

Lycoris nodded and said, "Thanks, Alex. I will be quick."

She closed he do then changed out of her bathrobe and into the pale yellow dress. After she made sure it was dressed neatly, she knocked on the door again and said, "I am all done, Alex."

Matthew unleashed his sword on the trees that had turned into monsters and he attacked them, moving swiftly and accurately, not wasting any movement.

Alex approached the door and opening it, he smiled softly at Lycoris and said,

"You look wonderful as always, angel.  I'll arrange your hair and then you'll be all set for the day."

He gently held onto Lycoris' arm and led her to a nearby dresser mirror and after placing her into a chair, he gently brushed and arranged her hair.

The trees fell back as Matthew and Anjela attacked them, getting cut and burned. However, whenever a branch would be attack of a tree monster, it would grow back immediately again into a double branch. One of the monsters attacked Matthew, reaching out with its moving branch to surround his legs and cripple him.

Lycoris had a soft smile on her face as Alex brushed and arranged her hair. She couldn't help but say,

"I know I trouble you a lot with taking care of me but I love it. I love how you care and love me so. You're like a daddy to me."

She giggled a bit.

Matthew gritted his teeth and swung his sword at the branch that surrounded his legs.  He said,

"Do these things have a weakness?  They just keep growing more."

Alex chuckled and teasingly replied, "Awww I hope I'm not only your daddy, my Lycoris.  Although if you were my daughter, you'd be the most wonderful daughter ever."

Anjela continued to fight using her fire magic on the trees, burning some of them down although most would only grow back again. Thinking quickly, she remembered something and quickly said,

"Yes, I remember. The trees have a weak spot in their backs-a green fissure in the middle of one's trunk. Just be careful; once they catch on what you're trying to do, they get more violent."

Lycoris blushed and giggling a bit more, she said, "Of course you aren't just my daddy. You're my daddy, my big brother and sometimes my son too. But most important of all, you're the love of my life. Umm does that make you my boyfriend, too?"

Matthew replied, "Ok, got it."

He continued to fight the monster trees, looking for an opportunity to attack their weak spots.

Alex chuckled and replied, "Oh yes, I am definitely your boyfriend, my Lycoris."

He finished arranging her hair and then said,

"There, all done.  You look wonderful, my angel."

The trees continued to fight furiously, sometimes reaching out with their branches to try to cripple one of the two. At one point, Anjela was able to swing around one of the trees and shot a powerful fireball at its weak spot. The tree immediately caught fire and burned down without regeneration but the other trees seemed to go berserk, attacking more violently and trying to stab the two with their branches as weapons.

Lycoris smiled softly and said, "It's all thanks to you. If I am beautiful enough for you, that makes me very happy."

She got up with Alex's help then holding his hand, she happily yet shyly said, "Let's start our date?"

Matthew continued to fight with all his might.  He moved swiftly and quickly and he was able to get behind the back of one of the trees.  Finding its weak spot, he stabbed at it with his sword.

Alex nodded happily and replied, "Yup, let's have our date.  I'm going to take you to the most wonderful cafe you've ever been."

He happily held onto Lycoris' hand and escorted her downstairs and then out of the house, making sure to lock the door.  The couple then headed towards the cafe, which was only a few minutes walk from the house.

The tree monster made a roaring sound as Matthew stabbed its weak spot with his sword, and it immediately fell down in defeat. Another tree monster made a surprising attack on Matthew, attacking him from behind with piercing branches.

Lycoris happily followed Alex downstairs then out of the house, feeling a lot better than how she felt earlier in the morning. As they walked outside and towards the cafe, she smiled softly and said, 

"Are we deeper in the forest? It's very peaceful and quiet here."

Matthew was momentarily caught off guard as another tree monster attacked from behind.  However, he swung his sword, aiming for its branches, cutting them off so he could get free.

Alex nodded and replied, "Yup, that's right.  This place is a vacation spot, so there are very few buildings here and it's mostly trees and forest.  So there's only the one cafe and a general store, but they provide everything we need.  It's quite different from Devenshire, right?"

The tree monster's branches were cut but they instantly grew back again in double the number, attacking Matthew once more. Anjela was also busy fighting a couple of monsters on her own, attacking with fireballs to burn them down although they would quickly recover. She called out to Matthew,

"This isn't working out. We have to think of a technique to put them all down-there are too many of them."

Lycoris nodded happily and said, "Yes. It's even quieter and more secluded. I like it a lot. Is it very far from Devenshire?"

As Matthew continued to fight, he replied, "Agreed.  Any ideas?  I'll follow your lead."

Alex replied, "This place is kind of in between Devenshire and Lessire, so I'd say it's far enough.  And I'm happy you like it.  It's like our own world."

The couple made it to the cafe and a waiter greeted them, showing them to a table.  The waiter then handed the couple menus and left.

Alex said, "I've tried the food here.  It's quite good."

Anjela nodded and after a moment of silence, she said, 

"I'll cast a major fire spell on all of the trees at once. It won't kill them, but it will distract and weaken them as long as I hold it up. While I am at it, use your sword to hit all the trees' weak spots. You need to be quick though, or the spell might get out of hand and the whole forest would catch fire. Can you do that?"

Lycoris looked curious and asked, "Do they have anything I haven't tried yet? Oh and can we have hot chocolate? I like hot chocolate for breakfast. Umm I like it anytime really."

Matthew nodded and replied, "I won't let you down."

He readied himself, preparing his sword for when Anjela would cast the fire spell on all the trees.

Alex chuckled and replied, "Of course you can have hot chocolate.  I think I'll have that, too.  Let me see.  Anything on the menu is really good, but I personally like their pancakes and omelettes.  But I can just tell you everything that's on the menu and you can choose."

Anjela nodded and said, "On my mark."

She took a deep breath then a fury of fire started to surround her body. She hit the ground with her hands and underneath ground, a powerful fire spell was cast. In an instant, the tree monsters all caught fire and they roared in anger.

Lycoris nodded happily and said, "I like pancakes. They taste really sweet and delicious. We can have that sweet syrup on the top, right? I don't know its name but it's really sweet."

After Anjela cast her spell and the tree monsters were on fire, Matthew made quick work of them.  Using his sword, he stabbed the trees in their weak spots, hitting them all quickly and efficiently.

Alex replied, "Ahh you mean, maple syrup?  Sure, that sounds really delicious.  I'd like that, too, actually."

He waved for a waiter to come and after he did, Alex gave them their orders.  The waiter took their menus, bowed, and left.

The tree monsters were all defeated as Matthew hit them one after the other. They fell down and succumbed to the fires, finally dying down. 

Anjela put down her fire spell although the fires weren't immediately extinguished, of course, as the tree monsters continued to burn down. She took deep breathes, looking a little anxious but doing her best to regulate her agitated breathing.

After the waiter left to bring their orders, Lycoris reached out to hold Alex's hand across the table and shyly said, 

"Is it ok? I like to feel you close."

Matthew took a few moments to take some breaths as well.  Looking to Anjela, he smiled a bit and said, "Well, we did it."

Alex nodded happily and squeezing Lycoris' hand, he replied, "Of course.  I love feeling you this close to me, too, my angel.  And we are on a date, after all."

He looked around the cafe and added, "It's quiet here but I don't mind at all.  This cafe is open all the time but more people usually come around the dinner hours."

Anjela just nodded and didn't say anything for a moment, before she said, "Let's get going."

She glanced at the burning tree monsters for a second and a shiver ran down her spine, before she hurriedly led the way forward and away from them, expecting Matthew to follow.

Lycoris nodded happily and replied, "I like the quiet. It's very peaceful here, even more than Devenshire. I like it more this way, you know. And I get to have you all to myself. Umm does that make me sound possessive? I-I don't mean it this way, of course, but I like when it's just the two of us."

Matthew followed Anjela closely as they headed away from the monsters and back towards their destination.  He could see that Anjela was a bit shaken and decided not to say anything.

Alex chuckled and replied, "Yes, I know exactly what you mean, my angel.  Devenshire is my home and I like it but this place is special.  We're far removed from other people and we can enjoy each other's company and nature all we want."

The waiter soon returned and he placed plates of pancakes in front of Lycoris and Alex and then mugs of hot chocolate.  He bowed and then left.

Alex then said, "Our food's here and it looks and smells very delicious."
